They came installed internet. Never once did we get the speed we paid for. Asked them to come out and troubleshoot, not once did it get any better. We were taken advantage of terribly, we just settled with the very slow speed that it was till we found out the speed we received is something that you couldn’t or should of even been charged for. I emailed, calked several times. Could not reach anyone, left voicemails, never called back, finally talked to a person to have it disconnected, to this day they have never showed up. I called again today received bill that I refuse to pay because I told them to disconnect and never got service we have been paying for.

This was a nightmare, clearly my worst business experience of my life. Steve Jones (the owner) specifically told me on my last service call, that I'd be serviced and repaired by the weekend. After the following weekend came, Steve told me that SOTAC did not get to my repairs because they were too busy taking care of new customer installations (versus servicing existing customers). Additionally, he added that both he and his installer had now gone on vacation and that I would not get any repairs or service until their return (for almost 2 more weeks). After our relationship ended, SOTAC said verbally and in writing that they'd refund my money. They never did this and Steve fought against me getting any refund at every step in the process. Fortunately, I had paid with a credit card. If I had paid with cash or a check, I'd be out all of my 750.00 pre-paid amount. The only reason I got my refund was because the credit card company reviewed the case and sided with me. I filed a Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint against SOTAC and they refused to cooperate with the BBB. The BBB gave them a D rating as a result of their non cooperation. They are not BBB members and did not care about the BBB. My problems were directly caused by the owner, Steve Jones. I would not recommend dealing with him in any capacity, for either services or sales of any product. At this writing, SOTAC (Steve Jones) is taking this to court to attempt to recover bogus charges. This is how he treats customers. He braggs about he he's never lost in court...
Description of Work: State of the Art Communications (SOTAC) is a small mom/pop owned and run business run by Steve and Kristy Jones of Kokomo, Indiana. It is also known as Tri Care Auto Group which is for used car sales and RV services. Steve and Kristy also have a web site for the same location listing Tri County Mini Trucks as "a Division of Tri County Auto Group." All operations are out of a small building in Russiavlle, Indiana and this is only one business. There are no "groups" or "divisions." He also claims to have been in the internet broadband business for over ten years, claiming "since 1998." Steve and Kristy are both primarily used car salesmen and both are local bus drivers. They are spread pretty thin... and this is evident in the kind or quality of service I received. I purchased high speed broadband services from SOTAC from Feb-Apr 2011. I purchased 1Meg broadband service package and voluntarily prepaid for one years service in advance. After 6 weeks of marginal service, my relationship with SOTAC was terminated. The 1Meg speed service that I received was mostly at less than 200-500K speeds running less than half of what was promised. The speeds often dropped to as slow or low as dial up rate speeds around 30k. Furthermore, for half of the period I had SOTAC broadband service, it was completely out and inoperative. I experienced a 50% working service rate. One time, the owner Steve cited the outage was due to a lightning strike- but it took nearly two weeks to get the parts in for the repair, clearly showing that SOTAC lacked the inventory or logistics to obtain the necessary parts in a timely manner to provide customer service.
