Plumbing Heating Paramedics

I initially contacted the company from Angie’s List. They were about to come out in a timely fashion after calling them. They first came out to diagnose the issue and later came back to complete the repairs. The job was tedious and the pipes are fifty years old. They cleaned up well after the job was complete and the price was very reasonable compared to other estimates I received. I was satisfied with the plumbing work and ended signing up for their heating and air maintenance contract agreement.

Like most heating and air companies, they tend to arrive twenty to thirty minutes late to appointments. Also, when my seasonal inspection was due, they did not call me this time and I had to reach out to them. When they came our for the inspection, they explained the furnace needed to be replaced. They gave me three options for new furnaces. They did not try to pressure me into purchasing the most expensive model and I appreciated that. They took all of the correct measurements so that on the day of installation, everything fit in just fine. They were very nice. The technicians were careful in my home and even wore booties over their shoes. They seemed to do all of the work in a timely fashion. They hauled the old unit away and installed a new one. The unit was installed on a Friday. We had heard a funny noise in the system and they came out the day after we called them. However, by the time they came, you could no longer hear the noise and they did not charge me for the visit. Overall, I am satisfied and happy with the work they did. I will continue using their services going forward.

I bought the tune up special for $39, I emailed them two other times to set a date, and explained our upstairs furnace was not working. Never heard anything back. We should of heard something by yesterday. It's Friday, so now we will wait till Monday, to get an appointment for someone else to come service it hopefully early next week. Not a good way to conduct a business. Sheila

They were excellent and new what they were doing. I ended up not using this deal due to other obstacles.

They are very reasonable, not pushy, they keep my old furnace going and I appreciate their honesty. They have done AC work for me in the past as well. I would recommend to anyone.

I know that he inspected the furnace because he showed me the list of items inspected. I assumed he cleaned it too as that was part of the deal but I did not see him cleaning it.

It was a poor experience. The tech arrived in the afternoon. A good portion of the time he was at my house, he spent in his truck on his phone. When he did finally come inside, he inspected our furnace for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, he told us we needed a new furnace, and that we should not even be running it as it could cause a fire in our house. He also said the carbon monoxide was dangerous for our kids. I have a carbon monoxide detector in my home, so I thought it was odd. He then replaced my furnace filter, which he did not install properly (even though I let him know it was sort of tricky). I had a different company come for a second opinion and they let me know everything was just fine. I was disappointed by the level of service I received.

They arrived between the agreed time of the appointment - 2 hour window. They were very polite and professional. Their quotes were so high that I refused any additional services. The wax ring replacement estimate was more than double what any other plumber would have charged ($249 versus $125). Even with the $100 credit, they were still higher $24 than another plumber I called while they were drawing up the estimates. I asked them to call their office and come to a more reasonable estimate (based on the call to another plumber, this is about an hour job). They called their office, but came back with the same price. They explained that their prices are flat rates and not based on the amount of time needed to do the job. I feel the special was not really a special as their prices were so inflated that you are not really getting a $100 credit, just a higher price. I replaced the wax ring with the help of my brother. The ring with replacement screws cost me less than $10.

I scheduled an appointment and they cancelled the day before stating the plumber wasn't able to work the next day. Could not come up with another day and time that worked in a reasonable period.

I had a different company over to do some maintenance on our water heater. The company that was over quoted me a annual price for the maintenance. I decided to go with the lower price.

Arrived on time; used booties over shoes. Was pleasant and professional (also sent a thank you card)

I really tried to give these guys my money. A sales guy came out and took a look at what I needed done (both plumbing and hvac work). Said he would email me a quote when he got back to the office because he had to consult with another guy. No email. Emailed the company. No email. Called, spoke directly to the guy who came to my home, still no quote. I know they have my email address correct because they took the time to add me to their mailing list. If two guys getting together to work on one document for a customer is too much for this company, I'm glad I didn't use their services.

They guy was very thorough, on time and pleasant.

We have had Plumbing Heating Paramedics out to our house a few times for plumbing services and had them due an AC tune up. Everything had gone well so when our AC was having issue shutting off we called them to come and look at it and repair the issue. On 7/23/14, Brian arrived during the specified time period. After he inspected the HVAC unit and AC he told us that our control board was going bad and because of the age of our AC unit and the replacement cost he would not recommend replacing it. We were completely comfortable with this recommendation as we new the unit was very old and would need to be replaced at any point, throwing $500 into didn't make sense. Fast-forward to October when my 1 and 3 year old were shivering we figure we should turn on the heat. The fan kicked on, but no heat. We called Plumbing Heating Paramedics and the repairman confirmed that the control board was bad. He would be back with the part in 1-2 days. I was a bit confused as we had been told verbally and in writing weeks earlier that this only controlled the AC. I was extremely frustrated that a "trained" professional who I found on Angie's list had told me not to repair a part that controlled the whole HVAC system, not just the AC unit. Now my kids were freezing and we could have fixed the issue months early with no rush had we been properly informed. My frustration was further compounded after 3 days (with no feedback on when the control board would be replaced) I called Plumbing Heating Paramedics and spoke with Jennifer. Only after I told her that I had small children did she call and say that they supply house had the control board and they would be out between 3-5pm to replace it, no one showed up during this time period or called to say they would be later. At 7pm, Wille called to say he was on his way. When he showed up I told him I was very frustrated, he agreed that Brian should have known that the control board also controls the heating. He replace the control board. He said he would have Ryan the owner call me the next day. After a week with no response, I called Plumbing Heating Paramedics. I was told Ryan was out of the office and he would call me back, nearly a month later I have received no calls from them. I now question, all the work, I have had them do in the past.

Although we purchased the service as a "deal" over a year earlier and never got around to scheduling, it was not their fault as they had tried several times to schedule. They honored the deal and came as scheduled, were very professional and we are very happy with the result.

I bought a Big Deal to have my noisy sump pump check valve replaced for $99. After purchasing it, I was soon contacted by a company representative and made an appointment for the same week. The day before the appointment, I was contacted for a brief reminder about my appointment. On the day of the appointment, the technician called and told me he was done with his previous job and asked if it was okay for him to come about 15 minutes earlier than our scheduled time. He arrived as promised, was very personable and professional, and completed the job efficiently. As I was signing the receipt, the technician gave me an information sheet and a few business cards, explaining what other services they offered and to call if they could help in any way. There was no hard sell to get further business, just a nice informative chat with no pressure. Everything went very smoothly from beginning to end. Each company employee I spoke with had a courteous professional demeanor, which made them easy to talk to and work with. Great experience!

On time, did the work as promised, price as promised - very satisfied and would use them again.
