Plumbing Heating Paramedics

Not too long after his 10/21 inspection where he indicated there were no issues or problems with any other plumbing device, except the one noted above, the water heater, On December 15, 2014, I noticed no hot water. So, I went to open the basement door and there was at least an 1.5 inches of standing water and I looked over at the water heater and it had burst less than 24 hours prior. The water heater was leaking everywhere and was flowing from the top like a waterfall. I immediately called ARS Rescue Rooter who I purchased the water heater from originally. It was less than 6 years old. The normal standard life is 10 years. Luckily, the water heater was under a 6 year parts warranty ( that would have been around $2,000 for a new one). However the technician indicated the labor would be around $639. Well, I had no choice but to engage them to replace and repair. What's weird is that PHP performed a complete inspection of all the plumbing, he gave the water heater an inspection pass with flying colors. Not even 2 full months later my water heater bursts with no clear results of the reason why it failed completely. No one else had touched the water heater between that time and only PHP were the last individuals to inspect the functionality of the tank. and said it was working fine. Something is rotten in Denmark. How could a licensed plumber not notice something terribly wrong upon inspection since that is what he is trained to do? ESPECIALLY, less than 60 days from their inspection. I will be filing a dual complaint with the Indianapolis Area BBB and the State's Attorney General's Office as well as passing this by my legal counsel to determine any legal recourse I probably have. The federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protects consumers with respect to written warranties, state laws govern so-called implied warranties for nearly all other purchases. Such unwritten and unspoken warranties are legal contracts based upon the common law concept of "fair value for money spent." U.S. law also backs the enforceability of implied contracts (see the "merchantability" section below). The inspection carries an implied warranty that the item will continue to work properly in its current condition. If you buy a blender that simply doesn't work, then you have the right to take it back for an exchange or . This also applies to used items, with the extra disclaimer that it will work as intended, given its condition at the time of resale. The standards for merchantability are relatively low, basically guaranteeing that goods sold will do what they are supposed to do; have nothing significantly wrong with them; and are fit to be sold. Article 2 of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) dictates that items are "merchantable" if they meet the following criteria: Must conform to the standards of the trade as applicable to the contract for sale Must be fit for the purposes such goods are ordinarily used, even if the buyer ordered them for use otherwise They must be uniform as to quality and quantity, within tolerances of the contract for sale They must be packed and labeled per the contract for sale They must meet the specifications on the package labels, even if not so specified by the contract for sale Implied Warranty of Fitness Some purchases come with what is called an implied warranty of fitness. #2 Implied Warrant of Fitness: This means that a product is guaranteed for a specific purpose, beyond the lower threshold of merchantability. So if you asked a salesperson to recommend a blender specifically for making frozen cocktails, but the one that's recommended turns out to not have enough power to crush ice cubes, then you may return the item under its implied warranty of fitness. That means sales of consumer goods that work perfectly fine, just not for the customer's planned and stated use, may breach an implied warranty of fitness. There has to be a guarantee of PHP's inspection results/service because it is what consumers rely upon in good faith. That's why I am seeking the original $89 service cost plus the $639 labor cost from a third party, ARS Rescue Rooter) To be honest, I would accept $450 of the third party labor costs ($189 less as a gesture of goodwill), plus the $89 service fee for a total of $539. I of course will pay the remaining bill with ARS. I think that's a reasonable alternative response given the history of the original claims. Respectfully, David

Small job, but was done to my satisfaction.

They called last week as a reminder as promised. Willie gave me a 30 minute heads-up call within the 2 hr window as promised. Inspected the furnace with a checklist provided at the end. Discussed options to replace the filter on the furnace. Professional. Provided personal business card in case there was anything else I needed.

Arrived on time. Friendly installer. Kept me up to date on what he was doing

Problem was solved without an alternative very expensive repair. Tech was polite, friendly, clean and efficient.

On the morning of 12/5 (Friday), we discovered that the hot water tank was leaking. I called Paramedics immediately. The scheduler stated that the technician would be at our home that afternoon. The technician came at the appointed time with a new water tank. He installed it and made sure that it worked properly. He took the old one with him. My husband and I were extremely pleased with his work and professionalism.

They took out a connector and reconnected it and restarted the furnace. They could have made up any excuse to charge more but they didn't. Very impressed with their service guy.

He was under the house a long time, said there was moss on the pump. He didn't say if he removed it, just that he inspected it.

It went fine. He indicated there were some issues of debris getting into filter.

There was one technician here doing the work and everything turned out fine.

See above. Nothing went well because the technician was a no show twice! The owner contacted us and apologized and had some one here within days. Great work on heating system and duct work. Would use again.

It went wonderful. There is one hicup,though. They had to cut a hole in ducting about the furnace burners. This was an replace unit. They placed the cut part of the furnace. Putting the new humidifer in in a the center of the cut piece of sheet metal. That was fine as they placed sheet metal screws in the sheet metal. The hicup is that they should have used foil tape or chalk around the seams. So there is not any gaps. Be air tight. The next time I used this company. Bring more of your "A" game.

The person was very accommodating. He called the day before indicating the time he would be at the house. Then on the day of the appointment he called well before he was to be there so we were will prepared for his arrival. The person took the furnace apart cleaned all the parts replaced them and made sure everything was working properly including the thermostat controls. He was very pleasant and responded to all our questions. Over all a good experience.

It was easy to schedule by calling the office and they were able to get to me pretty quickly. The technician was very professional and punctual. However, he started and had gone about an hour into service when he determined the plumbing was not the type needed for this and a plumber would need to come out and change something. This cost an unanticipated $125 extra dollars that I was not thrilled about and would have like to have known that prior to him working for a hour. The other problem is the control for the humidifier had to be installed at the very top of my air handler, not sure why, but that is where he said he had to put it. I have to stand on a chair to reach it and can't read the setting while trying to adjust it. It presents quite the challenge, but luckily I don't change the setting often. I would recommend them, but would ask they check things out prior to starting work.

The service was great. Punctual and efficient. They only did what it took to fix the problem and didn't try to add-on services. Very pleased.
