Plumbing Heating Paramedics

I used the Free Estimate feature on their website to get a call to set up an appointment and after two days of no contact, I finally called their office. I chose this company because their Angie's List profile said Free Estimates and their webpage states "Free means FREE. With PHP, there is no fine print or disclaimer when it comes to free estimates. At PHP, there are no strings attached, and no hard sell tactics.", but once I described our situation and that we only wanted an estimate, they told me there would be a service charge. They said there is a service charge if they have to look at repairs and the free estimate is only for if you are having a water heater or HVAC system installed. Sounds like bait and switch.

Water heater was leaking and called Plumbing Heating Paramedics to take a look as I've used this company before. Brandon arrived the next day. What's great is he calls about 15 minutes before he arrives to give a heads up. He arrived on-time and assessed that my water heater needed to be replaced. He offered options of calling the manufacturer for a warranty replacement, replace with a model they stock, or go to a tankless system. He explained the pros and cons of each option, and was in no way pushy or pressure selling. He is knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had. I ultimately chose to replace it and called them to schedule an appointment for the next day. Brandon even called later that day as his scheduled opened up to see if I was available, but unfortunately I was not. He came with Corey as scheduled the next day. I called a couple other companies for a quote, while Plumbing Heating Paramedics was not the lowest cost, I will gladly pay for the professionalism this company has exhibited with confidence in their people and product. I've called on this company twice before and all experiences were great. Brandon is professional and courteous to deal with. Brandon takes great pride in his work, making sure connections were secure and clean. They were both careful to bring down the water heater into the basement by placing drop cloths through our house. They cleaned up in the area they worked on and wiped up any drips from the old heater. I will recommend this company to anyone.

We were basically just calling everywhere trying to find someone that could come out on a Sunday. It was pretty dang expensive. They got the job done, but it was really expensive.

They were timely and professional. I have used them in the past and have done well. They clean up after themselves and are very god.

Excellent. I have used this company for many of my HVAC and plumbing needs and every guy, most often returning techs, have been thorough and knowledgable with the service requested. I have signed up multiple times for their service plan and deem it worth it. Highly recommended.

For the year we pay $160 for 2 visits. They service the AC in the Spring/Summer and they service the Heater in the Fall/Winter and they also drain the water heater. They're always really good, they're a pretty small company but they're very knowledgeable. They're always there when you need them.

Technician was able to diagnose the problem as soon as he opened up the unit. We needed a new starter. The fix took about 10 minutes and we were up and running again. They were very friendly and explained the problem. We will call them the next time we have a heating/AC issue.

Bryce installed a really nice new temperature regulating shower and tub faucet -- attractive and works well. Brandon fixed a leak under our concrete slab, and managed to do it without damaging our flooring. He used Hydro-Scout to help us find the location of the leak. Then one night we had no hot water and Bob came out around 10:00 and found the problem (not the water heater) and fixed it quickly so we could get to bed. And the price each time was good. $250 for the faucet, $1800 for the slab leak, and $195 for the nighttime repair.

It went very well. We were very impressed with the owner who gave us the estimate. We were also impressed with the installers. They did a good job and were very professional.

On time...tech was very pleasant and answered all my questions. (Not all svc personnel do). This was a special purchase buy.

The technician came out as scheduled and was able to quickly remove my leaking garbage disposal and successfully install the new one. He did is quickly and I was happy with the results.

We called this company after Vectren shut off our gas due to a reading of a leak on our house line. When I called for pricing, I was told that the diagnostic charge was $39. Upon arrival of the plumber, he told me that the actual test to find the leak would be $270. We really needed to get our gas turned back on, so we allowed him to perform the test. We have two lines running off the same meter; one underground that goes to the kitchen and one that runs directly into the garage to the water heater and furnace. He detected several small leaks on the garage line and quoted either $700 to $900 to repair, depending on whether we were replacing the pipes or just sealing the fittings. When he left, we ran a test of our own and determined there were also leaks on the other line. For the amount of money we paid, it seems that both lines should have been tested independently. I called to speak with the owner and after leaving two messages, I finally got a call from the office manager two weeks later. I explained my frustration with the situation and was told that the "diagnostic fee" is actually a service call fee. When I explained that the lines were not tested separately and once the plumber found a leak, he seemed to stop investigating, she said that after completion of the garage line repair, he would have discovered the leaks on the second line upon pressure testing. I'm glad this didn't happen, because then we would have been out an additional $900+ and still be without gas. I asked if that was standard procedure not to thoroughly investigate the gas lines up front and she said she would speak with the plumber and get back in touch. That was two weeks ago and I haven't heard back. We ended up hiring another company to fix the lines due to the lack of forthrightness and communication we felt from this company. The other plumber seemed surprised that both lines were not tested independently. We agreed that we got an incomplete diagnosis at best.

Basically they installed the sump pump, but then it leaked again. Basically I could not figure out whether it was their fault. They said it was something else and I could not figure it out, I don't understand once they repair it and place it there why they wouldn't have come in so it created another flooding situation. My interaction with them was okay. After paying additional money the work turned out okay. I did have to have somebody else come in and fix it so it wouldn't alarm. I did not go back to them because I was tired of paying them extra money. I won't use them again.

It was a Sat. but they worked us in. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. He was very nice and I liked that he wore booties over his shoes every time he came in. He was professional, efficient and very knowledgeable.

I called early in the morning, was told to expect Brian between 3-5PM. Brian came closer to 2PM, assessed the situation, determined the fan cage had come off the motor shaft. He pulled out the blower, remounted the cage on the motor shaft, and got my A/C working again! Unfortunately, it is only a temporary fix for my 33-year-old system!

It was great. They explained everything well. They provided 3 options at different prices. They offered 60 months at 0% financing. All techs were on time and the work was completed on time. They cleaned up well and were respectful of my home.

It's the end of May in Indiana so it could be kind of warmish kind of cold-ish has it happen we're not quick to turn the air conditioner on to be fair we really like the window open so anyway short story long, it was cold when they installed the air conditioner and we had zero interest in turning it on, so we didn't turn it on for the longest time I am going to say the first week in July we turned it on it's hotter than Hades in here so they are super good people about you so we did we call them it was a Friday night I think it was right before the fourth of July and they were out here that Friday night and got it fixed oh I think maybe we didn't charge it properly with free on now it's charge to that and I think you are good and then we turned it on again and a few more weeks its still hotter than Hades in here so then the guy was out here came out here about 8 o'clock on a week night it was pouring down rain, it was raining so hard he had to go out to his car for a while because he was afraid he was going to get struck by lightening but he fixed it, finally it turned out to be a problem with the well were they had install the new air conditioner.

It has been freezing up a little bit but they were able to come in and make necessary repairs. They've always done a good job. We have used them for the last couple of years. The people they send to the house are very courteous and knowledgeable. They are usually on time.

This service provider was SO impressive! I was out of town, our air conditioning went out with animals left in the house and it was scorching hot that weekend. The heating/air conditioning company I normally use (and THOUGHT I had a contract with, but apparently it expired on June 10th) couldn't come to my house for about 18 hours. This was totally unacceptable so I phoned Paramedics. I received the answering service (on Sunday around noon) and was assured the technician would call me right back. I was skeptical but he literally called me RIGHT back. He assured me that he could stop by my house in about 2-3 hrs and that it might be sooner as appointments were actually taking less time than they scheduled. He phoned me in approx 1 hour and said he stopped by my house and went to the back and found the air conditioner totally frozen up. He unplugged it, said he would go on to his next appointment as it needed a few hours to thaw out anyway. He offered two potential solutions to the issue, one being a dirty air filter and said if my neighbor could change it, he wouldn't need to come by. I let him go ahead and come out and he phoned me about 1/2 hour before he was going to be at my house to let me know he was on his way. I had someone meet him there and it was simply a dirty air filter. He phoned for payment and I could not describe to him enough how much I appreciated his attention and caring about our situation. I will use this vendor ANYTIME I need service or help with my HVAC services. Please do so as well!
