Went Great. They knew what I needed done and did it for a very reasonable price.
Description of Work: Repalced the water softener and removed the old one. Service was fast and clean. Everything went as planned. A little pricey on install but I guess that may be standard accross the board. I am not much of a plumber, so it was done correctly.

Great Company, I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal coupon back in Sept. 2012; forgot about it until Jan.2013 (about 10 days before the coupon was to expire). I called and scheduled my appointment which was very easy & times and dates were very flexible as to my schdedule. The plummer came out to install a bathroom sink; unfortunatley I purchased the WRONG type of sink....I called the company & the customer service lady on the phone said "no problem, order the correct sink & call back and reschedule." Today, my sink was installed by a very professional and nice plummer; Bryce. He called before coming to let me know when he would be arriving. I am Extremely pleased with the service I received; Bryce even took my old sink away so I didn't have to worry about it's disposal. I would HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND Plumbing Heating Paramedic.
Description of Work: Instillation of bathroom sink; purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for 1 hour of labor plus the service call for $51.00.

I had questions about water in one of the pits in my basement which he answered and helped me figure out. I had a feeling the water heater had issues since it was leaking, and he was able to diagnose the problem and give me more information. I now have a quote for a new water heater, which I'll probably go ahead and do
Description of Work: The technician inspected the plumbing in my home, and then flushed my water heater.

I contacted the company to schedule my appointment. The customer service was fantastic! I scheduled the appointment around my work for the following Friday. Unfortunately, there was an emergency call and my appointment had to be rescheduled. It was fine because my appointment was not an emergency. The company was willing to get me in earlier that day but I could not because of work. Again, great customer service!!!! Prior to my appointment, I received a phone call to confirm. The day of my appointment I received another phone call from Bryce the individual coming to do the inspection to let me know they would be arriving in about 20 minutes if that still worked for me. Upon arrival, both individuals were very professional and courteous. Bryce explained what they were going to do. I don't wear shoes in my house so it was great that they brought slip on covers to wear over their shoes. I didn?t even have to ask. What a great company! Additionally, they both walked us through the steps and explained what they were doing in detail. Our questions were encouraged and answered. Bryce also provided us with information on water heaters and water softeners. They both were so helpful. I will absolutely use this company again. I will also recommend them to others. Thank you Plumbing Heating Paramedics!!!!!

Overall experience was great. Crew arrived 10 minutes early, got right to work, worked hard all day, and got the job done. My system qualified for an IPL rebate. I was told by the company it would be one amount but found out later it was a different amount. Company contacted us and is giving us a refund for the difference.

The experience with Plumbing Heating Paramedics was ok. They had to redo a copper pipe that was attached to it and they charged me more for the service than the Big Deal was worth. I wasn't really happy with that because he replaced the copper pipe with a plastic one and took the copper pipe away. So the replacement was of lower quality than what was already in place. I tried to make a deal with him over the price because he was going to be able to get something back on the copper pipe but he wouldn't do that. Other than that, they were prompt.

Both plumbing companies, our insurance claims specialist, and the manager from the restoration company were all appalled and could not understand how the PHP plumber had not found the leak and stopped the water from causing so much damage. We called the owner of PHP and explained what had been found and expressed our concern over how their plumber handled our service call. Immediately, he became defensive and said that he was sorry, but there was nothing he could do. After a second call, he did agree to return our $75 check for the service call. I called a third time and requested that PHP pay for the leak detection call ($185) and for half the $1000 deductible we had for our insurance claim, and he said he would talk to his plumber and get more details and call me back in a couple days. When he called back, he said he had talked to his plumber and that his plumber said that he had not actually looked under the sink for the leak, but had focused on the outside faucet. He further stated he had talked to his lawyer and didn't feel he should pay for anything else, especially since he had returned the $75 back to us for the service call. He said he might think about reimbursing us for the $185 leak detection fee if we would sign his paperwork that our insurance company would not sue him for any damages and I would agree not to give him a negative review on Angie's List. I responded that he was very unprofessional, and I was upset he would not try to do more when his own plumber admitted he didn't even LOOK under the sink for a leak in our kitchen! I refused to sign any paperwork, and never heard anything more from PHP. We had to replace all the kitchen flooring and the cabinets. The cleaning and restoration took several months and cost us several thousand dollars. I waited months to write this review because I was so upset with how PHP handled the situation. I have never before written a poor review about any company, product or service; however, I thought it was my responsibility to report the facts of our experience on Angie's List. I felt that others should know of our experience with PHP and how the owner "stands behind his work" when considering PHP for any plumbing services. Call them at your own risk and good luck!
Description of Work: We found we had a water leak when we noticed the seams of our laminate flooring in our kitchen seemed wet and about a 3 foot spot on the carpet from the kitchen into the dining room was soaked. We had PHP install a new air conditioner a couple months earlier, and thought they did a good job, so we called them for this plumbing issue. First, let me say, I had found them on Angie's List when looking for a new air conditioner, and we were very pleased with their service when installing the A/C. I had even recommended them to several neighbors. My husband called PHP, talked to the owner, explained the problem, and set up a time to meet with a plumber later that day. The plumber from PHP was prompt for the appointment (late Friday afternoon). My husband met him and explained the situation. The plumber looked around inside and outside the house where we have an outside faucet on the dining room wall. After about 20-25 minutes, he told my husband that he thought we had some kind of leak under our floor. Since our house was on a slab, he said we needed to call a company that specialized in that type of leak detection (and recommended a leak detection firm he knew of). We paid him $75 for the service call, and then he left to start his vacation (that he had talked excessively about the entire time he was at our house). We then called the leak detection company and the soonest they could get there was mid-morning Monday. They arrived Monday, and we explained the situation. They found the leak under the kitchen sink in three to five minutes. They stopped the water leak and only charged us half of their fee, since it was such a appointment. They were shocked that the plumber from PHP was unable to find the leak, and highly recommended we call a different plumber to permanently repair the pipes under the sink. We called Modern Plumbing to fix the pipes and replace the sink and faucet - and were very pleased with his work. (He was also very surprised that PHP had not been able to find and stop the leak.) Since the leak had gone on for so long, extensive damage had been done to the kitchen flooring and dining room carpet. We called our insurance agent and ServiceMaster Restoration by Westphal to begin the clean-up.

Response from Plumbing Heating Paramedics
First off I will say I am sorry once again for your experience with the plumbing issue and appreciate the kind words regarding our install of your new A/C. The only issue that I had with this is your initial conversation saying "That this was my issue and I need to pay this amount. Also stating that your brother was a lawyer" I always try and do the right thing for every customer and I hope you can see that in our other Angie's List reviews. The main issue with this situation is PHP did not install or even touch the kitchen sink or anything to do with it. I do wish we would have found the issue for you, and I told you I was sorry for that. Typically on a slab home when we find a water spot on the carpet it usually is a slab leak, and until it is located there is not much we can do. The only reason I discussed with you the release form is because I felt that no matter what I did you were not going to be happy. Along with that release form I had agreed to give a refund as well on top of the refund for the service call that I had already mailed. Bottom line is I do not like these situations, but I do feel that we tried to do what was right for you, and our company. Thanks Ryan Carpenter- Owner

I called this company to look at my water heater as it was leaking occasionally from the overflow tube. The technician was quick cuteous, and competent. He told me what I already knew, that my water heater really needed to be replaced. He quoted me a replacement price that I thought was high (it was even a special). I opted to wait on replacing the unit and just had the overflow/pressure valve replaced. My feeling the price was high for the replacement was confirmed when I did in fact replace the water heater. Even though I opted to replace the gas WH with an electric WH because it was a tremendous deal, while I was talking to the technician I mentioned what I had been quoted by Plumbing Heating Paramedics and he said that was about $400 more than they would have charged. This individual had nothing to gain as he was already replacing mt WH so I have noreason to doubt his sincerity. I think the company is overall a good company but is a bit pricey.

I had received a letter from the utility company that it was likely I had a leak somewhere. This was subsequently confirmed by a rather high water bill. I told the PHP technician this. He reported that the likely culprit was a toilet in the master bathroom and gave me a quote for replacing it. I did not think the toilet was the problem, and it was later suggested by someone else that there might be a leak in the slab, so I had Thermo Scan Inspections (recommended by Plumbing Heating Paramedics) come out and check. The TSI technician found the leak in an outside faucet. In my opinion, the "whole house inspection" that was to be done by PHP as part of the Big Deal should have included a check of the exterior faucets. I had to pay for the second inspection by TSI, but at least they saved me from spending $500 for a new toilet that I didn't need! I am disappointed in Plumbing Heating Paramedics and will not likely use them again.

Overall, very thorough and honest service. Caution: I had obtained an original quote from the dispatcher - Katie - that was inaccurate. Katie couldn't have been nicer, however she is not a technician. Nor am I for that matter. On the day of service, once the technician was enroute and realized what had happened, he called me from his vehicle and explained everything very thoroughly, even offering to cancel the service call without charge. I am very happy with the level of service. However, I am a little disappointed with their flat fee for freon. They charge $189 for the first 2 lbs. A very good deal if you're over a pound low. However I am only about 1/4lb low, but would still have to pay the full $189. Something else to know - and this goes for any HVAC company - they will no longer fill an older R22 unit that's known to leak. There is a $300 "stop leak" option that's basically "fix-a-flat", but is still very new and untested. If/when I have someone come out to top off my freon, I may go with someone else that has a broken-down freon rate. However I am pleased with this companies' level of service and am glad I used them for initial diagnostic and service. If I do have them come out again, I will be requesting they send Aaron as I very much appreciate his integrity. I also very much appreciated their $50 coupon!
Description of Work: Service technician - Aaron Woodburn - came out to repair a heat pump that had turned into a block of ice. I had suspected low freon. Issue turned out to be a clogged coil inside the house. Technician cleaned coil and set defrost cycle from 90min to 30min.

They recently installed a water softener and I had such a good experience with that so I asked for a quote for this work before he left. I was just as pleased this time around as I was the last time. He was very professional. The price I paid was well worth it! It was less than I'd been quoted from other places for the exact same model. He was on time and was efficient in the installation process. I took the entire morning off from work, expecting it to take that long. However, he was done in roughly an hour! He was courteous, called when he was on his way and was respectful of my home. He drove in some bad weather and traffic to get to my home, yet was polite and friendly. If and when we need additional work done, I will be sure to have them come back!

I like them a lot; they are excellent. They do a good job and they are really very personable. They have very good customer service and sometimes they are a little bit pricey but I do not know how much more pricey they are than anybody else; maybe it is just the nature of the beast. E-mailed Plumbing Heating Paramedics on Saturday to get an estimate on a new water heater and to have our existing water softener installed. Ryan returned my email within an hour and asked if we needed someone to come right away to help us out. It wasn't an emergency, just a small leak and was still getting hot water, so he said someone would call me Monday morning to give me an estimate. I spoke with Ryan again Monday morning and we discussed tankless vs standard water heaters. He was very knowledgeable about the differences and helped me to select what was best for my family. Bryce was here the next day at the appointed time and did an awesome job installing the new water heater and water softener. He was very nice and professional. He tested our water for the level of hardness and set up the water softener accordingly. He explained everything he did and answered all our questions. I appreciate the quick response from Ryan on a weekend and definitely appreciate their knowledge and professionalism. It can be hard to find a trustworthy company to do any kind of home repairs, but I definitley found one and will continue to use PHP for any plumbing needs.
