I had the A/C go out on a rental unit. We had just replaced the outside unit a few years ago so didn't know what the issue was. I puchased a service call coupon from them and they scheduled the call immediately to check it out. From there, Aaron was able to give me options as to how to fix. He gave me several options and we decided to replace the inside unit completely instead of just saving a few hundred dollars to fix the leak. He advised that we could have other leaks in the future since it's an old unit so I was happy he was able to guide us to make a decision. He also provided us with a mobile a/c unit to cool the house since it would be a few days before they could do the installation.
Description of Work: We replaced the inside A/C unit after discovering a leak in the lines.

Joined Angie's List due to suddenly leaking water heater. Called 3 good choices. Chose Plumbing Heating Paramedics based upon my first phone call which was to them. Spoke with a lady a couple times to get my urgent scheduling needs right. Regarding a water heater efficiency question, she said she'd have the manager call me right back when he returned. He called right back. They were both very helpful, friendly, and willing to answer all my questions. The manager even located the efficiency specs of the competitive brand that I owned so that I could make an informed comparison! Servicemen showed up at least an hour earlier than I expected (after they called to make sure the timing was OK). Very professional installation. No subsequent leaks; no surprises; no additional costs. Excellent work...very pleased.

They called night before to confirm time as promised. Bart, the service tech, arrived on time, was professional, took care to keep my home clean as he worked both outside and inside my home. He had the parts needed to replace the hosebib, was patient in answering all my questions, and left with the repairs done and satisfactory.

The gentleman showed up on time and did inspect all of my faucets, drains, outside fixtures, etc. Due to the age of my home, built in 1988, he advised me to have everything replaced. He then looked at my water heater and told me the valve or whatever was plastic and it breaks very easy under any pressure. If it did break while he was doing the flushing, I would be liable for the extra repair + plus parts. And, he did say that would be very costly. Since I am not a plumber and did not know what he was saying to be true or false, I opted not to take the risk.
Description of Work: Came to give home inspection on all of my plumbing + and to flush water heater. Did inspect all of the plumbing but did not flush the water heater.

The estimate was in my opinion one that was very high. I went to their website a few minutes ago and saw that the company actually offers free estimates and I had to pay thru Angie's List $29.99 to have a service that said I would be saving I think something like the difference of a normal estimate being $70.00 and I got it for $29.99. Now I found out had I went to their website I would not have paid anything for an estimate. That really ticks me off. Then my husband was here while I was out and when I came home he said that the crew came early and gave him the cost of $375.00 and I freaked totally out. I could not believe it would cost so much to fix a flipper on a tub to enable the tub to hold water. The crew was here for about 3 hours possibly and assured me that all was well and that they had completed the task and we shook hands and I had also had given their company a huge referral to a HOA for a condominium that is very high end looking for a vendor and happened to ask me the day before this crew came out for a name so I gave them this company's name. This morning I filled the tub to take a bath because I can't take a shower due to a surgery on my left hand and guess what? The tub still leaks - not to the degree of not holding any water, but I heard the water going out of the tub as I rushed through my bath. I forgot something: I noticed huge rectangle hole in my closet behind the tub unit and asked what happened and the plumber told me that my husband did that - then husband came up later and he said hole was made much larger - which they did not bother to fix and actually blamed the whole hole on my husband's attempt. I called them today and spoke with the plumber who was at my house and he said he was having a very bad day and that my problem was not any kind of an emergency and therefore he would come out "sometime next week" - he did not offer an exact day so that I could match it with my schedule, but he seemed in a very foul mood so I did feel sorry for him and I should not have - I did not press the issue because I did not think he was in any kind of mood to deal with me. Should he decide to come later in the week - I really have no emergency for sure because I can then take a shower. I needed a guarantee as stated on their website with the disclaimer stating all complaints must be called in before 7 days have passed. If one should think about that disclaimer - well sometimes different kinds of plumbing issues just don't show up for a while and so therefore I suppose one would be just out of luck. This was a two man crew - unnecessary in my mind and therefore that in itself would attribute to the extremely high cost. Now if this company which I have never used should come within the first two days of next week - that being Monday or Tuesday then I will give an update as to their integrity. I did call and ask for the owner once my husband told me the cost - then I talked with the plumber and he convinced me that the problem was intensified by husband messing with it. I don't feel so sure about that statement anymore. I will call my friend that I referred this company on Monday and let him know about my experience. I will wait until the end of day so that if I have not heard from this company, I can give a actual report with all truths being fully known by the type of treatment I get - I strongly believe that my house should be first on their list on Monday due to the extreme cost I paid which I couldn't really afford right now, but I need to take a bath like I said because of my surgery. This is becoming a complete inconvenience at this point after I sat here and thought about the plumber's mood and me feeling like I shouldn't push him to far - he seemed very stressed out. I will indeed update the rest of this story. UPDATE: As promised, here is my update: Monday this company sent a different plumber to address the leak which involved changing a part. Next day even though no water was running thru pipes, I heard water as if it was emptying the tub. I called the owner of the company and he came to my house within 30 min. and we debated the issue for about 20 min. and owner offered to give back my check and I did decline refund with discretion for second opinion and owner agreed and outlined what he would accept as a second opinion. Today, by coincidence - the second opinion came to my home for free, to examine the job and to make sure no leaks will happen on my kitchen ceiling. The second plumber was truly a very wise gentleman and in fact was the person I would have hired in the first place, but couldn't remember his name (had to call a friend in AZ to get the second plumber's name) - anyway, this very kind gentleman examined the work and said plumber company one did a fine job and doubted a leak would occur on my ceiling and in fact offered he would be shocked if the tub ever leaked. I shared with him the three days I experienced with the company I am reporting on and he has been in the plumbing business for 45 years and did indeed know the owner of the company of my report - he would not comment about the owner and I completely respected him for that because that shows true character. In conclusion, I would like to add that the company I am reporting on seemed to have anger management problems which did increase my doubt in their ability to trust their workmanship. I don't appreciate having someone getting in my face arguing about their perception of my doubting the integrity of certain people. That kind of behavior is just excessive to me along with demands required for second opinion. Time, I hope - will give this company better customer skills. I was indeed offered my money back which was presented in a way that was truly insulting - he did offer to give my money back though - it still insulted me. The first report I gave with regards to hand shake by the first plumber - well, I don't know what else to say! That is all I have to say about this unfortunate experience. I always trust my first instinct!
Description of Work: I needed a plumber to fix what my husband had tried to fix - which was my bathtub part that allows water to remain in the tub. I bought the deal from Angie's List and gave them a call and they were prompt at that arrival, but I shocked because of the price being so very high.

The company was professional and honored an old contract, I was quite impressed. I was having company from out of town and they were able to schedule the repairs quickly before my company came. Their representative was quite professional, very knowledgeable and informed about what the company could offer me and what I needed to do. He fixed 2 drains and drained our water heater. He told me info about our water heater and future problems we may have because of age and hard water.
Description of Work: I purchased the "big deal" quite a long time ago misunderstood how to use it. Angie's List negotiated with the company to still honor the contract after such a long time. I was impressed with Plumbing Heating Paramedics from the moment their representative came in and put on footies. He fixed 2 broken drains, and drained our water heater. He explained the necessity to drain it on a regular basis especially because we have very hard water. He was well informed and knowledgeableabout his work.

When we saw the hard water stains on the dishes and noticed the salt levels were not changing we decided to call Plumbing and Heating Paramedics back out to our house. They had done our water heater replacement when it broke and did a great job so we were more than comfortable to have them back out. The girl that setup the appointment was very friendly and was able to get us an appointment in no time at all. It was great to see the same tech (Bryce) that we had last time. He remembered the house and again was wonderful to work with. When they came out before they offered their service contract for our heating and a/c unit but I failed to send in the info so he made sure we got set up with it this time. He showed me how he checked what the problem was and how it was fixed since this is something that will likely happen again. They didn't fail me on a second time and should I need plumbing or heating services a third time, they will be who I call again.
Description of Work: The water softener wasn't changing levels in the salt and we were getting hard water stains on dishes. They came out and immediately knew the problem was that the salt had hardened and just needed broken up. Bryce was great and broke up the hardened salt and show how I can keep an eye on if it starts to happen again.

I have no idea how much plumbing services cost but for the amount of time spent doing repairs I thought it was pricey. The service person was excellent however and very respectful of my residence. He called 30mins prior to arrival and arrived on time. He completed the repair and had everything working very quickly. I would highly recommend this company for the work they do and their friendliness towards clients. Again I'm not sure if this was the best price but the job they did was great.

Had an 8 - 10 A/C check-up slot, and Keith was here around 8 and done around 9. They had replaced our blower motor when we had no heat on a very cold day last January. Today the capacitor was reading very low, and Keith replaced it for free as part of that January service-call. It also turns out I had too many vents closed and it was causing an air-flow problem, and he explained to me how many could be closed and how to avoid that issue in the future. All in all, every time they come out I feel like they take good care of my system as well as helping me take care of it between visits.

I normally use Dial One Hour and called them on a Saturday because my outdoor unit had started to freeze over. I asked them if it was an emergency that I needed to pay someone to come out that day and they said I should have someone come out and put me on a standy list. I found PH Paramedics on Angies List and decided to give them a call because of all the good reviews. I explained to the telephone associate what was happening and that I wanted to know if it was crucial to have someone come out that day or could I wait for an appointment during the week which would cost less. She took my number and had a technician call me to discuss the problem. Over the phone he walked me through switching over to emergency heat (I had an old thermostat so couldn't do it from inside) which allowed me time to schedule an appointment during the week. They came out that week, diagnosed the problem and had a new heat pump installed within a few days. They even installed it in the rain. I also received a Thank You card in the mail the following week with a hand wrtten note and a bible verse printed on the card. No matter your faith, it's nice to see a company that is strong in theirs and not afraid to make it known. I would definitely recommend this company!

Service man knowledgeable, but this company did not specialize in hotwater heat boiler systems. A hairspray fell in the toilet and it was clogged. Found a provider on Angies List advertising a service call for $29.99. The plumber came out promptly same day and informed us the fee would vary from$147.00-250.00. He unclogged the toilet in 20 min. and charged $147.00 plus the $29.99 service call! $180.00 for a 20 minute job is excessive in my opinion. We felt they lured us in with a low priced service call but then made their money back with an outrageous charge for an easy job! We won't be using them again!!

Mike came one day, looked at the job, and gave us an estimate. He offered a discount for two jobs in the same trip--make repairs, resetting the toilet in the main bath, and install a water softener. The price was fair and the work well done. Both the toilet and the softener work well. The softener seems to use very little salt, from my experience.

We had our hot water heater break on us and caused flooding throughout the downstairs of our home. We discovered the problem in the evening and started to call out to places for quotes on repairs. The gave us a lot of information over the phone and warned us before they even arrived that it was likely that we would end up replacing the unit. Giving us a cost for everything up front. Not only were they super helpful on the phone by walking us through getting everything off to avoid further damages, but the price was competitive and they were able to come out with a new water heater the very next morning. They were quick with the replacement of the unit and price was as I was quoted on the phone the night before. I couldn't have been happier with their professionalism and fast response to our problem.
