Plumbing Heating Paramedics

They came out to diagnosis problem by end of day (Thursday). I was kept informed by office staff and technician of arrival times/courtesy calls. At this point, I was in the "after hours" visit which made me nervous. Tech described problem and what part was needed which he had to follow up 1st thing in the am. He also informed me my entire cost before leaving. After technician searched area, I was informed it the part had to be ordered/over night shipped from the manufacturer. I was happy he promptly contacted early am on Friday AM as promised. This allowed us to make alternate sleeping arrangements for the weekend due to the excessive heat. He told us they would contact us early am on Monday. I was called at 745am Monday AM.. Our part had arrived and they were coming out. I have had three encounters with this company. I have been VERY happy with both plumbing tech, inspection tech and the A/C tech. I was please with the no pressure, knowledge, and follow up. All techs were professionally dressed and helpful.

My 35 year old air-conditioner was not putting out cool air but was running. He (can't remember his name) came out for the service deal and found that one, or several of the boards were bad in the air conditioner. He found a way to go around the boards but did it on a day when the temperature was too cool to see if the air was being cooled. When the heat set back in, found there was no freon and it would cost too much to diagnosis the leak in such an old unit. He quoted a new unit that was too big for the size of my house according to other estimates, plus my research on the internet. Had he told me that it was too cold outside to properly diagnose the problem, I wouldn't have thrown away the $159 on a unit that wouldn't work.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was great. They came out the day after I purchased the deal. They didn't pressure me to buy a million other things when they were here.

Friendly and professional. Worked quickly and got job done. Explained some of the workings of the AC and expectations for the future.

Service technician arrived as scheduled. Did the job in a timely manner and provided verbal instructions on all questions. The thing I was most impressed with is he did not try to pressure me to purchase other services he only provided information on other services that they provide. Great job.

They advertise free estimate, so I called to have a free estimate on changes, upgrades, etc. needed to address heating & cooling issues in my home. I knew work would need to be done - whether it was adding return air ducts to rooms, replacing cooling lines, or just replacing the whole system - but I needed to have an idea on the cost and what be the most reasonable for my budget. The person I spoke with kept telling me that it would be a service call and she would have to charge me $69 for it - I asked what they would be servicing since we didn't know what the problem was and she had no answer except that she wanted to charge me for a service call. At that point, I declined her 'offer'; I've since gone with another company and am having my heat pump replaced and additional return air runs installed. PHP lost a lot of business by being unwilling to come out and give me a free estimate.

The serviceman checked my sink and confirmed that my low water pressure had to do with the sink itself, and not any problems with the plumbing, which is exactly what I wanted him to confirm. He recommended replacing the sink, but I was able to figure out what was causing the issue (collection of grit from old galvanized pipes) and managed to clear it out. His help was well worth the Big Deal I got for the service, and in addition they sent me a nice written note and a coupon for my next service call. A very impressive company to work with.

They were great, timely and professional. So far, so good, as far as the product goes.

Arrived one hour past promised time but did call to alert me and offered to have service another time if it was inconvenient. Started inside home. Did put shoe covers on. Assessed furnace system. Checked electrical system. Checked thermostat and how accurately the setting reflected the actual output of cool air. Went outside and checked air-conditioning system. Made recommendations and cleaned the metal filters by power washing them outside.

The serviceman who came was very professional and courteous. I asked him to look at several areas of my home, which he did and then offered a price for each service. I even asked him if he thought I could repair the leaking faucet myself, and he told me that he thought I could! I didn't expect that, but he saved me about $200. He also kindly walked me through the steps I should take. He advised me that I could then also fix my non-draining sinks (simple solution). Then he spent about an hour augering the main drain of the house, and cleaned the area when he was done.

The plumber arrived on time, was pleasant and professional. He suggested an upgrade to a better faucet, which I chose to do. He lowered the paver beneath the faucet to allow room to add the hose. No negatives to report, would use this company again.

On time, professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. Yearly maintenance for my A/C unit. No problems, would recommend this company.

Arrived promptly after a call giving 15 mins. notice. Clear in explaining the equipment and possible updates. Would use their services again.

He installed it incorrectly and was vague about his general check of the water heater, etc. He did come back and fix the faucet, but claimed that "most customers" preferred his way of installing the part-cold to the left and hot to the right. I disagreed and decided not to contact or refer them again.

Brian did a very thorough inspection and cleaning of my A/C. However, I thought the repair work he suggested of $1322.00 was high.

It worked out well with Plumbing Heating Paramedics. They went beyond the call of duty.

They were super nice and on-time. They took care of all the problems and were very responsive to all of my questions.

It worked out just great. He was extremely thorough and he pointed out somethings that had been wrong since my house is built and he was just very thorough and kind and courteous and just gave me some estimates on changing it and he said you know that not causing any problem if you don't want to, but if you want to this is what it would be and I was really impressed with him. I spend an extra $51 at my request. I would use them again.

All went very well, on time and as planned!

AC service call Asked to diagnose a problem. Tech wanted to replace the capacitor first for $310 although through Amazon and eBay it cost $20. Then suggested replacing the fan for $890. I decided not to rush making decision. Got a great deal for Irish Heating and cooling 1/3 of the price he gave me.

I am very impressed with the level of service. There was a misunderstanding between Angie's List (AL) and Plumbing and Heating Paramedics (PHP)--AL advertised the big deal with a significantly different (better) warranty. PHP decided to honor it and put that in writing. The install was more involved than originally anticipated since the original hot water heater was not installed correctly. PHP gave me a discount on the additional work and supplies needed to correct the issues. They were on time, courteous, and knowledgeable. Overall they did a great job and I will consider using them when it is time to replace the HVAC.

This event went well. The tech was good and explained what he was doing and what he found.

He came and did the work and it was fine.
