Plumbing Heating Paramedics

I was selling my house and needed to get the A/C inspected to close. I initially called Dial One Hour and after taking all my information (and wasting my time) they said they couldn't get a tech to my house for 6 weeks! I explained that I couldn't wait and they still weren't able to accomodate me. Luckily, I saw the Big Deal from Plumbing Heating Paramedics. I not only got a great price but I got very responsive service. They came out within a few days. The service included a 1'' filter but they called to ask if I'd like to pay a little more for a thicker filter. I would have if I was going to own the home longer.

The instillation went exactly as was described to me ahead of time. There was no additional charges, the price was as originally stated even though there was extra work involved. I was very pleased the way everything was handled and I will use this company again in the future.

Serviceman was punctual, professional and explained what he did.

Provider was prompt, professional, and courteous. But when you pay for a full HVAC inspection and all I got was 2 mins of a flash light being shined on my coil and told it's clogged so there is no point in checking anything else, kinda makes you feel ripped off. Guess there was no point in checking electrical connections for wear or resistance, coolant amount, mechanical performance, thermostat calibration, but hey what do i know? The deal was also supposed to include a filter which was not even mentioned. À+ for friendly tech, B (graded on a curve) for service.

He called before arriving and was right within the window we had booked. The technician inspected both the inside and outside units. He cleaned the outside one with the hose. He wrote up a condition report and was overall pleased with the condition of the units. He gave me suggestions for the future and what to keep an eye on.

The appointment went very well. It was one of the hottest days of the year, and we needed the AC fixed! He was punctual, professional and efficient. He also gave me advice on what to do in the future and what can be done to prevent the problem again.

They were excellent. They contacted me very quickly and came on time. The two guys who came out were very professional and they did a good job. They went over their checklist with me and pointed out some things that needed to be fixed or corrected. I was generally pleased with their service. I did not spend any more than the big deal but I would probably get a maintenance contract from them.

Originally, they were very easy to work with. This purchase was for one of our rental properties and I was told that they would work with the tenant to schedule a time that was convenient for our tenant. After several attempts to schedule as well as a couple of reschedules (due to medical issues of my tenant) we came to the conclusion that this was just not a good fit for our needs. Our tenant needed an appointment after 5pm so they would not have to miss work. Plumbing Heating Paramedics told them they could only schedule between the hours of 2:30 - 4:30 so my tenant would have to miss work. Really? This is what they mean by scheduling a convenient time? Following the rules for the Big Deals, I requested a refund explaining that while we would like to use the deal, we just could not get an appointment time that would work for the tenant. A couple days later I came home to a message on my answering machine. Prior to that day, all of our communications had been via emails. The message was from one of the girls in the office making sure that I was aware that the tenant had rescheduled the service and she just went on and on. I felt like I was listening to a small child telling on a sibling. I found it ridiculous that they felt the need to leave a rambling message on the answering machine.

Very prompt and did the job in a timely manner

The guy came and it was to replace two back up valves on spigots outside. I thought that the whole price would be $29.99. It turned out to be an extra $200. He said the cost of those plus his time added up to that. It took him an hour to go to the hardware store that was only 3.5 miles away. I was very unhappy with that. I did get refund.

He was very professional and confirmed what he had been told in previous annual a/c inspections from other providers. He was straight-forward in that our a/c has only so much time left and there were no add-on services that he tried to tell us we needed that would do any good. He was helpful in providing multiple quotes for new units and explaining each. We will definitely consider them when the old a/c needs replacement.

I found this company through Angie's List and chose them because the fee for a service call was $29.99 They showed up right away, which I appreciated. However the price they quoted me to fix a simple leak was outrageous. I have never had the luxury of sending a repairman, plumber , or electrician away because the service calls are usually $89.00. In this case I was able to say no thanks because of the $29.99 service fee. Here is why I said no thanks and sent him away. My basement toilet had a slow leak that was bad enough to flood the bathroom. The plumber I usually use was on vacation and unavailable. I went to Angie's List for help. I found Plumbing and Heating Paramedics. There were two problems with the toilet. There was a leak coming from the pipe behind the toilet. The shut off valve to that toilet was corroded and I could not shut it off. This forced me to shut off the water main for the whole house. I had a friend try to shut of the valve after trying and failing myself. He could not turn in and was afraid he would break it. He also tried to tighten the bolt where the pipe was leaking and had not luck. When the plumber got to my home he looked at the valve and said he could not turn it. He never tried to turn it. In fact he looked at it from the door, a few feet away. He suggested that we cut the pipes and replace the pipe and the valve. He wanted to charge me $240.00 to do so. I asked him for a second option - addressing the leak itself. Again without touching it he said it would still be $240.00.. In both cases the service fee would not go towards the repair fee. I asked what he was going to do for $240.00 and he said "that's the price, and you'll have to replace the valve anyway so we should do that". He was very nice and not a bit rude, but come on. I told him I needed to make a few phone calls and I'd let him know. I had been without water for 24 hours but the price seemed exorbitant. He left and said he would come back if I called and would not charge me a service fee. I was motivated to try again to turn off the valve on the back of the toilet myself. Prior to calling a plumber friend tried and he could not turn it. I used a screw driver for leverage and was able to loosen/ tighten and shut off the valve. I could then turn the water back on int the rest of my house and wait for my regular plumber. This is his opinion, but he said that every plumber has a tool they can use that would have easily loosened the corroded valve. If it needed to be replaced, which it did not, the cost of a new valve is $10.00. Here's the kicker. The actual leak was the fault of a missing 10 cent rubber washer where the pipes connected. Again my neighbor had tried to tighten the bolt with no result. So, in short; this company tried to charge me $240.00 in parts and labor. plus a $29.99 fee for approximately $10 - $12.00 worth of parts. I know labor charges are high but $200.00????? In total my guy charged me $60.00 to fix the leak. Parts and all. I am a single woman and have been able to maintain my household for 14 years by myself. I do have to rely on outside services to fix the thinks I can't. I believe in this situation the guy and the company tried to take advantage of that. Lucky for me I'm not a complete idiot! Sorry to be so long winded. You asked for details. Bottom line is I would never use or recommend this company.

Professional and took pride in their work. Two men did the work and were very efficient and totally picked up after the job was completed. Made sure to show me the work and verified I was happy. Friendly people, customer, service oriented team! I felt I could trust them just by seeing the pride that had in their work. They even discovered a minor problem with a heating drain that they informed me about so that I could get that fixed under warranty by my heating company. Very considerate team! Would call them again. We love our new toilets, so much more efficient than the old 80s ones that we replaced.

He arrived on time and emptied everything from under the sink. He removed the old pipes which were terribly corroded and full of gross buildup stuff from years of neglect. He replaced the plumbing under the sink and installed a new drain cover in the bottom of the sink. He gave us two choices for the kind of sink hole cover we wanted and we went with the one that he, according to his explanation, would work best for us. But now, if there are two hairs laying over the drain, the water won't leave the sink. It is ridiculous. After waiting all of this time, I wasn't planning on having to put my hands in the sink full of toothpaste spit to find a hair....

Plumbing and Heating Paramedics never contacted me. I made several attempts to contact them, but to no avail. I was left stranded. I paid the $39.00 up front and fortunately Angie's List took the charge off my credit card with no problems. People from Angie's List were very kind and sympathetic and prompt with my refund.

arrived on time, was very pleasant and showed me where the rubber flange had deteriorated. Recommended that I discontinue using drop-in tank toilet cleaners because it damages the flange. I never knew this. Was very professional.

I asked them to come out to the house to check out a leak in my shower. They were late and when I called to say I couldn't wait around they said they'd call and reschedule, but they never called. I had a worker at the house for something else and they fixed it promptly so I never called back either. I will call them back to use my big deal but I will not use them after that. I actually hate to complain since I didn't make much of an effort to follow up since I got the work done by someone else.

Very nice repair guy and that is where the good stuff ends. The part was under warranty and was only a 10 dollar part to start with. The time to replace it took 15 minutes. The cost>? 189.00?? you must be kididng as the service call itself was 59.99 for a full tune up and 1 lb of coolant if needed. The tune up never happened and they kept my 59.99. I called to inquire about a refund and was told the service person would call back. That never happened. So essentially this company charges close to 230 dollars for 15 minutes of work. High priced lawers are cheaper than that since if you break down the cost thats 800 dollars an hour. Again, nice guy; family owned company, but if they keep charging this type of rate for such a small amount of work and not performing the initially paid work, then I do not see longevity in the bussiness.

I think it went well, but I think this deal was just a way to try and sell a service plan for annual maintenance to customers.

I was having some comfort issues at my home so I called to have PHP come out to evaluate my A/C. The unit was constantly running but not cooling our home. After a tech came out and evaluated our A/C it was determined that we were likely leaking coolant. Rather than paying for them to test the unit, try to identify the leak, etc. and pay for that we decided to purchase a Big Deal offer they had running for installation of a New A/C (the estimated cost of them running the rest, etc. wasn't going to be much less than the cost of a New A/C). The appointment for the following week and the tech arrived on the date of service on time. I was not home during the install process but my son was there and by the time I came home from work the new unit was installed and running. Everything was cleaned up and we were back in business.

The two contractor employees came on time and inspected what we asked to them to inspect. They made several recommendations for work that needed to be done; as part of this, they provided an estimate of the costs for their company to do the work. I believe their recommendations were informed and accurate, and that the employees were honest. However, when I compared their company's prices to the same goods and services from competing companies, this company's estimates came in very high. Thus, we had the work done by other vendors, who performed the needed services promptly and successfully. This company's service was fine - it was just their high pricing that caused us to look elsewhere. We probably won't use them again, simply because of the pricing issue.
