Plumbing Heating Paramedics

Twice I've bought a "big deal" and twice they were not able to perform the service. I'm thinking there is a systemic problem with Angie's list and their "big deal" process. I grade Angie's List with an "F" by false advertising. I have passed up groupon offers thinking I've purchased a big deal only to miss ALL potential deals. I'm real close to ending my commitment to Angie's List. I have not gained anything as a member.

Randy came out on a Friday and checked out a toilet that was running very slowly. Randy explained my options, The toilet was about 25 years old. He said he could replace a valve to deal with the issue but it would be a couple hundred bucks, and with the age of the toilet I would be better off replacing it. I ordered a new Kohler toilet through them, and Randy got it in stock and replaced the unit the following Tuesday morning. I had purchased a Big Deal for the service call. I was very pleased with the company's responsiveness and how quickly they were able to fit me into the schedule although my issue was not an emergency. I felt that the price was very fair. I will definitely be calling them for any future plumbing needs.

We had purchased a big deal for the service. We have never had anyone work on our airconditioning and done a thorough job as he did. He made recommendations of things that we could do to improve. We need a new furnace and air conditioner. He was very polite, and I was very well impressed. We do need to have our furnace serviced, some time soon, and I will call him for that. He had given us an estimate for that. We did not pay anything extra on the big deal. Before I have him again, I will probably call BBB and get their take on him. I just haven't had the time to do that. The quality was very good. I have never heard of him before, and I assume they are new.

It went well. He came out on time, finished the job in 1 hour. He also inspected the furnace as a bonus.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was very good. We were running out of hot water and did not feel like we had enough pressure. They came in and looked everything over, gave us recommendations, fixed a few things and really made a big difference in what was happening with the water pressure and out tank. I think he had to have our softener replaced because it had leaked into the water heater. We are very impressed with what is going on now.

The service went well. The gentleman asked a few questions to make sure the correct part would be installed, and then executed the installation quickly making sure to clean up. He also provided a few tips and some dos and don'ts.

Called day before for reminder, called 20 mins ahead on way. Very nice and informative showed what he was doing and was complete and thorough. Would definetly use again.

I called the emergency after-hours hotline at about 9 pm. Within minutes, the plumber called me and asked me a few questions about the problem. He told me the cost of his visit would be about $300, so if I wanted, I could try a couple of things myself. The tips that he gave me worked, so I didn't even need him to come out to the house. Great service, and you can't beat the price! I will definitely be using them again.

Brian was prompt, efficient, courteous, and answered all questions. He did the inspection on both units, recommended a service agreement, replacement of Capacitor and purchase an electronic filter for the furnace.

We purchased the deal and we purchased an additional one as well. I think they also checked one of the bathroom faucets that had a little drip, but we decided not to fix it at this time. They seemed very knowledgeable, very helpful and very honest. The price was very competitive. They were there when they told us they would be.

The service tech arrived on time and performed the inspection and servicing expected. He was unable to replace the filter. Our filter is a special type that I was able to replace with a unit from the hardware store. At the end, he gave us a list of items that would need looking into soon. Our system is roughly 13 years old, and he helped keep it going longer. We are pleased with the overall service.

When we called to get an estimate, we received the estimate over the phone. He knew what was needed without having to come out. An appointment was set and he showed up on time. The work was completed in a timely matter. There was no sales pressure to purchase anything more than what was needed to fix the problem. A week later, we received a hand written thank you note along with a coupon good for any future service.

On Sunday night, we discovered that our water heater was leaking all over our basement floor. My husband immediately called the plumbing company listed on the water heater who had done the original installation prior to us purchasing the home. They came out the next morning and told us that the water heater would need to be replaced. They gave me three prices for a comparable unit depending on the length of the warranty. I decided to get another quote but needed to do so quickly as we had no hot water. I called another plumbing service that I had used in the past. They told me that they could come out later in the day but could not give a price over the phone. I scheduled the appointment but then checked Angie's list where I found Plumbing Heating Paramedics. I called and spoke with Ryan. Ryan gave me a price of $1699 installed over the phone for the exact unit that the other company had given me a quote for. In addition, he said he would apply a $100 Angie's member coupon lowering the price to $1599. He could install the unit that afternoon. While the warranty was not quite as good as the 1st company, I could purchase the same warranty for $300 which beat the original quote by $500. I ultimately decided on the lesser warranty but with a free maintenance plan the other company was not offering and saved $800 from the original quote. I liked that Plumbing Heating Paramedics was able to give me a quote over the phone, I liked their excellent, quick service and I liked their price. I felt that they were very honest and their price was very reasonable. Their installation team showed up right when they told me and were in and out in less than an hour and a half. I would definitely recommend Plumbing Heating Paramedics.

The water softener was installed correctly and professionally. And so far it system works as expected. The problem was that they did not arrive at the specified date and time. It seems to be very common with plumbers: they respond to an emergency call and take a long time on the appointment. Then they cannot make the promised time for my appointment made well in advance. Why can't they send another plumber to do the job? That question cannot be answered.

I bought their Big Deal; the offer was for an A/C tune up, cleaning, and a new filter. I did not pay anything extra. He was pretty thorough, timely, and explained what he was doing. The work turned out great.

It went well. I bought the deal yesterday and they were able to do the tune-up today.
