The repair guy came out on the first trip, and was very professional. He fixed a flaw in one chair, and brought temporary legs for the other while we waited for the correct size/color legs to be delivered. He also made a brief repair to the fabric pull in a chair and indicated that he'd have to order a new cushion cover for it from the manufacturer. After he left we found yet another issue with one chair and reported that as well.
For service call #2, the same nice guy came out with THE WRONG LEGS for the chair. That was the reason we initiated contact in the first place. It was the primary reason for him to come out. He ordered the legs on the first service call. I stupidly assumed that the correct legs would be brought out for second and final service call, but that isn't how it's going so far. He did repair the flaw we found after the first trip, but no extra points are given for that since we didn't pay for poorly built furniture. I didn't write a check to the manufacturer, I wrote a check to Godby.
So, now we wait yet again. They are replacing one chair entirely, and I'm waiting to hear back on when we'll get the right legs for the chair that is almost what we paid for. I can confirm that there is zero sense of urgency resolving this issue on their end. The customer service manager has been as helpful as possible, but between missing work and having simple things goofed up I can't imagine making another purchase at this place. I could have gotten the same quality at Value City or World Market without all this hassle.
UPDATE: Contacted the sales person at 11AM on 2/3/16. No response. Still don't have what I paid for.
UPDATE: After contacting customer service again, the sales person responded. "Didn't get any email from me," which is odd since that email came from the same exact email address I used to contact her. Twice, no less. Today is 2/18/16 and I still don't have what I paid for. To quote the customer service manager from a prior email, "it isn't life and death, it's furniture."
I sent yet another email to the sales person to get an update on when I can get the correct chair that I paid for. The original transaction date was 11/29/15. This is laughable. Of course, nobody from Godby bothers to respond on this website.
Labor day weekend I planner to go furniture shopping. Had seen a particular sofa at kittles I wanted to check out. On the way I stopped in at godby in fishers just to do a little comparison shopping. Tammy, the sales associate greeted us at the door. She was very easygoing and friendly, and definitely did not give me the hard sell. I ended up purchasing a quality steelcase sofa and an Indiana manufactured swivel chair for less than the sale price of the sofa at kittles. Items arrived at the warehouse in a timely manner. Only thing I didn't like was having to assemble the chair. One of the bolt channels was threaded incorrectly, but my handy brother found a way around it. All is well and I now have a beatiful comfy livin
g room. I will definitely put godby at the top of my list the next time I need furniture.
Cheaper than the La-z-boy store, nice choices, friendly people.
They held our couch until we had our floors installed (see Shaddai Flooring on Angie's list- they were excellent!). Our chair was supposed to take 6-8 weeks for delivery because we had a different fabric put on it. It came in 12/21 so it was even before the 6 weeks was up.
The couch was delivered on time, as promised and the delivery guys were courteous, contentious, and pleasant.
As soon as we have more money saved, we will return to Godbey's.
