NOT GOOD! On April 14, 2014, my 84 year-old mother took her lawn mower in to be serviced. Mother asked to have the blades sharpened. They were not. She had called several times to see if it was ready. It was not. My mother was never contacted by Lee's. She had given her cell phone number, which she seldom uses. Lee's called my mother's cell phone and got a wrong number (the last four digits were switched). They did not follow-up! *They did NOT try to send a post card. (Her correct address was on the invoice!) *They did NOT try to call information (411) for another phone number (her correct home phone would have been given). When we arrived from MN for her birthday the end of June, we went to Lee's and asked to speak with the manager. His excuse was they're so busy. We can help with that problem! Lee's Outdoors in New Haven has lost a local customer and her large network of references to family and friends. By the way, this review is THE REASON I joined Angie's list! When we mentioned the added expense of Mother having to hire someone to mow her lawn, the manager said there was nothing he could do. REALLY?! There is always something a knowledgeable manager can do! As a sign of good customer service he could have at least offered a token 10% off the $55 labor. Five dollars is nothing to a company too busy to send a post card. It would have meant a show of valuing customers to our family. This is NOT the kind of local-community supporting business we have come to appreciate and rely on since my 85 year-old-widowed mother moved here two years ago. Perhaps this is a site for larger businesses with more important machines. Lee's Outdoors on Lincoln Highway in New Haven is not customer friendly for local citizens who genuinely trust professionals to assist them.
Description of Work: The invoice called it "Spring Service". On April 14, 2014, my 84 year-old mother took her lawn mower in to be serviced. She also asked to have the blades sharpened. The invoice said they had changed the oil, spark plugs, and did other general maintenance. They did not sharpen the blades. Six weeks later, my uncle went in to see when it would be ready. The response was "soon". . . Interesting timing! Mother did not hear from them. When we came from MN for a visit the end of the month, we went to Lee's and spoke with the manager. He said the mower had been ready since the beginning of the month and when they tried to call, got a wrong number. They had not tried to follow-up for further customer contact!
