Dorman Ledbetter, owner of DHL Construction, has worked in construction since 1995. Along with being the full-time owner of DHL Construction, he is also a full-time father of 3. He hopes to one day pass on the skills he has learned to his children. Originally I was told by an inspector that we only needed to have the roof on a new home repaired. After that, numerous roofing companies inspected and determined that was incorrect - the entire roof needed to be stripped and redone. DHL and others were all about the same price for this. DHL won out because they were responsive to phone, email, and messages and could work us into the schedule in a timely manner. On the day of service they arrived as they promised. It was good they had a rather large team, because problems started almost immediately (as if anyone is surprised.) They quickly recovered, were able to order extra sheeting and get it delivered, and finished the job. All told, I think they did a good job. Looking at all the aspects of what you may review them for, I didn't realize what all they do. I'll definitely reach back out to them for more work.

Owner returned my initial call, even though I did not leave a message, within 5 minutes. He came the very next day to estimate the job and emailed proposal within a few days. Roofing was completed within one week of initial contact, and work was completed within one day. Owner and workers were professional and efficient and responded to every request. Very happy with work and will be calling DHL next time I need a repair. Thank you, Dorman!

Dormund was there with his crew at 6:30 in the morning. He corrected errors in construction from the prior contractor and replaced the roof on 2 sections of the house completing the task in one day. He matched the other roof even without the source of the original roofing. He found the causes of the leak and did a good job with the appearance of the roof. When he was done, he cleaned all the scrap up and there was no evidence his crew had been there except for a nice finished product. I would highly recommend DHL construction and would hire them again.

It went great. Quotes were very competitive. Work was completed as promised and to my satisfaction. Roofer installed white drip rails instead of almond. Instead of just painting them, he replaced them.

Dorman was very unprofessional. He did not get along with any of the other sub-contractors that I hired for other work, he ran several workers off. He made very rude untrue comments to other people involving other workers and myself, as well as comments about the banker who assisted with the loan, just very unprofessional and had a very smart mouth on him. The general contractor who is used to doing the type of work that Dorman did, said it was poor quality. Dorman wanted to take control of my money and when I said I would handle the details of money, he was angry and said that I was trying to 'play' contractor, and that I just needed to turn over the money to him. He was just very difficult to work with and I was so happy when his part was done so that I could get him out of this project. He is a very difficult person to get along with.

"DHL Construction strives to ensure customer satisfaction in every project I take on. I had a legally bound contract, that was signed by you (the homeowner) for $26,000 for my part of the project. Then you came to me with the bank loan check (of an undetermined amount) and wanted me to deposit into my bank account and write you a personal check for the remaining funds. No where in our contract does it state that I would act as PM on your project and distribute the bank fund to you personally. Then you chose to have your friend, [Member Name Removed] who is a teacher at Ivy Tech), install the plumbing without a license, which is illegal in the state of Indiana. So therefore Building Commissioner, [Member Name Removed] stepped in and shut down your project due to illegal activities (see photo of letter sent regarding this). DHL Construction does not participate in this type of shady activity, we have a work ethic. As far as the work completed on your project, without having any calls requesting anything be fixed, I can only assume that it is truly to your satisfaction."

DHL responded to my need quickly. Made temporary fix to leaking roof and chimney problem and returned to complete roof replacement and chimney repair in a timely and efficient manner. Cost was very reasonsible and clean-up was well done.

Got 3 estimates and DHL came in below both competitors. DHL was prompt and professional. Roofers did a good job of cleaning up afterward. I was assured that they stand behind their work. 5 months out and I haven't had any issues, and can't foresee anything happening, as, after inspecting the job, they seemed to have done quality work. I'm happy to recommend Dorman and his team there at DHL.
