I placed an order w/ Avon on 8/25/09 through Sarah Dempsey's online Avon account & and received shipping confirmation via email on 8/27/09. On 8/29/09, I had decided that there were a couple of items that I wanted to return. Sarah suggested that I wait until I tried everything to do that. She was going to go to college out-of-town but said she would be home every couple of weeks to deal with customers, and that she could get returns then. However, she did not pick up my items until 1/6/10, and took the original order's paperwork with her. Fortunately, I made a copy of the 2 pages first, although only the front sides. 1/29/10 -- I e-mailed Sarah and asked her when my refund was coming. No reply. 2/16/10 -- E-mailed her again. She said she e-mailed her manager to find out how to process the refund and that she would get back with me. 2/27/10 -- Asked Sarah to give me the contact number of her DSM if that would be easier. She did not respond. 3/6/10 -- E-mailed customer service on Avon website and rec'd a form reply saying they had gotten it. 3/7/10 -- Got an e-mail from Avon giving me a phone number to determine who the district sales manager was, and was told to discuss this with them. 3/8/10 -- E-mailed Sarah telling her I would like this taken care of and did she want me to contact her DSM? No response. I dialed the number they gave me and after jumping through numerous hoops, left a message for the district manager. She never returned my call. 3/19/10 -- E-mailed Avon in response to a follow up e-mail stating that the original response wasn't much help. I informed them then that I no longer wanted to be an Avon customer and that I wanted to return ALL items from the order for a full refund. (The original two I was unhappy with; the rest were never used.) 3/22/10 -- Received e-mail from Avon asking me to wait 2 weeks to hear from DSM, even though her recording said I would hear from her within two business days. 4/7/10 -- Called Avon # (very hard to find on their site) and was told they would get a "complaint and customer service rep" to speak with. She was to contact Amanda Boles, the DSM, and to send me a letter telling me how to return the items I still had. 4/19/10 -- Heard from Ann Schroeder, the DSM's assistant, who said she understood I needed help. When I explained the situation, she asked a number of questions & said she had no idea how to handle it; she would contact Mandy. 4/27/10 -- Ann S. returned my call from earlier in the day; said I needed to get products back from Sarah to do those returns. 5/6/10 -- E-mailed Sarah, asking her for the money or products, and that I needed the paperwork that she took in January. I cc'd this to Ann. In one phone call in the middle of this, Ann told me that Sarah had indicated she wanted to quit selling, and if that happened, Avon could no longer help me! In reply to the 5/6/10 e-mail, Ann told me that Sarah wanted to be reinstated as a rep, and that she hoped I would get my refund. 5/13/10 -- E-mailed Ann that I hadn't heard anything, and asked did she really think Sara should work for Avon under these circumstances...? 5/16/10 -- Ann replied, apologizing that she could not help me more, and that as long as Sarah didn't owe Avon money, it didn't matter if she hadn't done my refund. Unbelievable. I do not understand why Avon will not take a stand in this. I asked Ann to ask Mandy why and told her that I wanted to return the whole order. In reply that same day, Ann said she would e-mail Mandy. 5/18/10 -- Ann asked for my phone again and stated that Mandy would get another rep to get my money back but they could not do anything about the products Sarah has. 6/7/10 -- Found above e-mail after misplacing; sent Ann my phone # but rec'd no response. 6/25/10 -- E-mailed Ann, requesting phone & postal address for the Avon CEO and corporate head of customer service. Her response to this was to ask me what this request was in regards to and if there was anything she could do to help, as if she had no idea what this was about. I told her that I had copies of e-mails if she didn't, plus notes on some of the phone calls between us, and that if she was bothered by my request for corporate info, that maybe I could start with Angie's List and the BBB. Then I requested the corp. info again. That has never been given to me. During at least one of the phone calls she and I had, but I think more like 2 or 3, she had asked how they even knew how I purchased it. I read her quite a bit of information off the paperwork I had copied. The letter that I received because of my phone call of 4/7/10 told me to use something that was on the BACK of the original paperwork to return the other items. I let Ann know again that I did not have this, and why. (This was probably in April or May.) In her next reply on 6/25/10, she told me that she had cc'd all to Mandy and they would get another rep to deal with things, and asked in what city I lived; I told her. 6/30/10 -- E-mail from Ann asking did I have any paperwork, as they weren't sure they could do anything. I replied the same day with a cust. #, order #, and document #, even though I had already told her most of this. If there was another e-mail in there, I have lost track of it. 7/12/10 -- E-mailed same info as above to Ann plus six other pieces of info from order form. Told her I was in the middle of a formal complaint to Angie's List.
