The trouble shooting and evaluation uncovered a number of deficiencies that required correction to make the house safe from an electrical and fire safety standpoint. The work was performed initially on New Years eve and continued for a total of 3.5 days
of an electricians time with a helper.
The work was done professionally and satisfactorily. I would recommend Artisan Electric any time to others.

Chris was very responsive from the first email until the job was completed. We had just purchased our house and knew from the inspection report there were wiring issues. We purchased this house as a rental home and we lived 1 1/2 hours away, so we did most communication by phone, email and pictures. Chris was very patient working with me and the renters in the house. Chris came over and did a thorough inspection of our electrical system, made recommendations, explained the estimate to me, and then scheduled the job. Though it was more than I expected, it all made complete sense as Chris explained it to me. Our house still had a knob and tube system throughout much of it. The work was finished on schedule. I was out of town when the job was completed and I told Chris I didn't need a final walk-through. He told me he felt it was very important to do the walk-through and would make himself available at my convenience. True to his word, I called him on a Saturday morning to see if he could meet a couple hours later and he did. I am completely satisfied with the work Chris and his team did, and am planning on using them again to rewire my garage and bury the overhead line.

We own and operate a local business. We called upon Artisan Electric during a busy work day when our industrial pipe bender started blowing the circuit breaker. Their staff responded quickly and with in an hour had problem pin-pointed and repairs started. That day they helped save minimal down time and helped re-establish production. I have used them not only for my business, but also for up grades at my house. They employee a great staff and provide you with different solutions to concerns. My wife and I decided to install a back-up generator at our house after a recent storm had knocked out power. Chris came to our home on a weekend to discuss the project with us. He was prompt. personable and did not try a sell us on the project. He laid out our options and the cost associated with each choice. He patiently answered all of our questions. In the end we chose a somewhat larger generator so we could power the entire house. He scheduled the project working around my wife's calendar. He showed up promptly, stayed on budget and delivered exactly what we hoped for. Artisan is professional, thorough and has not lost that personal touch. We were so pleased that we are going to start a second project next week looking at solar power as Chris recently completed his certification in that area as well. We highly recommend Artisan Electric.

The overrall job went very well. We had a couple of snags that we worked through with Dustin and Aaron. The bid went a little over due to the problems that we had hanging the light over the island. All of the problems were mechanical and related to the quality of the internet acquired light and not from Artisan. My wife was really impressed with their cleanliness, as they dropped tarps to walk on and hung plastic over our cabinets and even over clothes in the upstairs bedroom. The work was completed on time, which was important because we had carpet layers arrive within hours of their completed work. We had three different bids for this job...and three different methods at completing the job. Artisan's bid was not the lowest and was the most traumatic.....i.e. going thru the upstairs bedroom. But, after checking with other sources, it was recommended that their approach was best and that they had the experience in doing these remodels. We were very satisfied with their work and personnel, and will consider them for our next electrical project.

They came and inspected and gave us a qoute for replacement of circuit breaker panel. They informed us that it was possible to run into some problems and they would let us know at that time our options. They were willing to come from a town about a hour away. We had tried a local electrician but could not contact them. During our intial meeting they seemed thorough and competent. They came out, replaced our panel and sent us pictures of the work done since we were out of the area. The work was done to our qoute and we were satisfied with them.

Very pleased with Artisan. The good experience started when I sent Artisan an email at 11 PM on a Friday evening and received a response by 7 AM on Saturday morning. Artisan was at the house at noon on that Saturday looking at what needed to be done (damage as a result of a neighbor's tree falling one the power lines serving my house).
Artisan did the work on time and on budget. They also coordinated the required permits with the local municipality and the electricity disconnect/reconnect with the local power company.

"Hi Folks - Chris Voglund from Artisan here. Let me clarify a few things for all parties. The original reason for this call was to correct a loss of power to the kitchen island area, which I found in a few minutes after being on site. While looking at these issues I found a tripped breaker in another panel that was dead shorting when I tried to reset. When I asked the homeowner about it he indicated that his outside front outlets were not working and maybe some lights... and that it had been this way for several years since they have owned the house. The problem with the tripping breaker ended up being a damaged wired that had been roughed in for future landscape lighting work. It was apparent that these issues had gone on for some time and previous attempts by others had not found the problem. This same circuit also fed the outlets on the front porch of the home, which should have been GFCI protected but where not. We had to make a return trip for a fairly extensive round of wire tracing and troubleshooting to isolate the damaged wire and correct the outlets on the exterior of the home. The original installer used the wrong covers and plastic non- approved boxes in the masonry face of the house that were also allowing water in all the outlets on the outside of the home. We additional corrected issues with switches not working correctly and replaced hard to reach lamps on the front porch to get all the lights back on. To my knowledge we were never asked to provide a written estimate or complete any additional grounding work as part of this round of service work. We tried to do a walk thru with the client upon the completion of this job to do a point-by- point explanation of the full call – but they were not home when we completed and were not responsive due to scheduling conflicts for setting one up at a later date. It is my intent to give every client our very best effort – if there is something left unresolved here then I am more then happy to come by myself, do a walk thru, and take a look at what needs to happen."

The owner came and did an estimate - very personable - and then sent the estimate as promised in the expected range. His team arrived on time and worked in a very professional manner. We have been very happy with all of the fixtures and would hire Artisan again.

They knew what they were doing, and did it quickly. At the same time, they explained to me in detail what they were doing and why. Also, why my old smoke alarms were a problem, and kept going off for no reason.
I was very pleased and would definitely use them again. I don't know how their price would compare to other electricians. Artisan had been highly recommended to me by a friend. I think I have reviewed this company in the past for Angie's List.

Chris and Dustin are great individuals and highly qualified electricians.. The actual cost was less than the estimate. Work was started on time, care was taken with existing furnishings and the project was completed in a reasonable time. This project was perhaps the fourth one Artisan has done for me. In the future any electrical work goes to Artisan.

They went in. They did the repair. They removed a part. They went in and got a replacement part. They had to order this replacement part. Rather than replace a whole unit, we just replaced a part. I assume I saved some money, but, it was probably a wash. They replaced two fans. I dealt with the owner. He was very knowledgeable and very efficient. When they made the final installation of the defective part, he had an electrician to come out, and install it. We checked it to make sure everything was running. Everything was fine. The price seemed a little bit pricey for what it was. I would use them for electrical type work for sure.

The technical arrived promptly each day and worked with great care to verify and check all electrical connections. He ended up repairing every outlet, light, fan, and switch in this room ... some 17-20 areas. In addition, we hired Artisan to add three data drops. The technician went above and beyond and even provided some advice about the crawl space under this room. This room now providing plenty of power for my technology business.
There have been no issues and I was happy about final price. I would encourage you to include Artisan Electric for your home or business bid. This is one business that cares about its customers and provide high quality work for a reasonable price. In short, you will not regret your decision.

I had outlets that were not working and a microwave not functioning.
I don't recall the exact reason why I chose Artisan Electric to come and inspect my electrical issues.
I called and scheduled an appointment with Chris (president) at Artisan Electric for someone to come down and evaluate the problem.
A young gentleman came to inspect and evaluate the problem (right on schedule). He introduced himself by his name, Dustin and that he was from Artisan Electric. After speaking with him I showed him the issues I was aware of.
The electrician, Dustin looked all around the inside and outside of my house and made a complete inspection of the wiring system. He even educated me on electricity and how it works!
I was pleased to know my electrical system was of high quality. He was easy to talk to and explained that lightning hit my house and caused the outage and fried the microwave. Dustin was polite, friendly and professional.
Artisan Electric was the place for me and Dustin completed the work in a timely manner.
I would advise anyone looking for quality electrical work to call Chris Voglund at ARTISAN ELECTRIC.

Everything went super smooth. Chris and his crew arrived when they said they would and completed the job when they said they would. Dustin & Aaron were very professional and did a great job. The yard was trenched to run the new cable and they even worked around a potential delay due to some rain and still finished the job on time. Many times my wife and I are hesitant to have someone come out to give an estimate and then entirely different, unprofessional people show up to do the work. This was definitely not the case with Artisan. Chris and his crew are very affable and I feel trustworthy. We will not hesitate to call Artisan again and will easily recommend them to anyone in need of electrical servicing.

I own an automotive repair facility here in Lafayette and I purchased a new alignment system which required more power then my old system. I called Chris from Artisan because he just did some work at my house and I was very happy. I called and told him what I purchased and when it was going to be installed. I also wanted Chris to know that the down time on this system had to be as little as possible. Chris and his crew came in and had us up and running in no time. Changed out all old wiring components and installed new.
