Christy gave us the best shopping experience. Beside she kept trying to get us to purchase this broken down fire mantle that was barely standing straight. Overall she was amazing. Things turn down hill once it came for us to get the Sonora mantle with firebox delivered. My fiance was home on the first delivery/attempt. They came in with the mantle all put together and tried to slide the firebox in it. They informed her that it did not fit and left immediately. They told a lie to their boss and multiple people from Roomplace called me and my fiance phone. I called Bolingbrook (headquarters) and spoke with reps their. We finally got the issue resolved and the "correct" size fire box will come. Fast forward to 11/7/2020 and I am home to see what is really going on. These two Hispanic deliver drivers come in with the new "correct" size firebox. He tried sliding it in the front and sliding it in the back. Tried once on each side. Instead of trying to put both of their heads together and resolve the problem. They said it is the wrong size. The size for the Sonora is 28in 3D firebox item number 18001125410. The cardboard box, my paperwork, and the Roomplace website all said the same thing. I pointed it out that it is the correct fire box and they need to try to get it into the mantle. They spoke Spanish amongst themselves and called me ignorant itch (pg13 for kids). Once I replied to them in Spanish. They hurried up out the door with my Firebox. I tried calling the store immediately and got no answer from the managers. I messaged Bolingbrook and the VP of sales suppose to call me. I have the whole scenario recorded on my iPad and took pictures on my phone. If they deliver to you record everything and get your family lawyer involved if it is going south. I paid for something I do not have and been lied about multiple times.

when warranty company would not help I went in and talked to a manager and he would not do anything for me. I then called the corporate office and once again I was not helped. I asked the corporate office if it was normal to pay almost $2000.00 with warranty for a couch you just have to throw away. it has now been another year and the whole couch has peeled and we have no pets do not smoke and take our shoes off at the door. Please do not shop at this store they will not stand behind there products!

Initially I felt discriminated against because of my s**. The sales rep. sold the mattress to my male friend but refused to offer me the same deal. Delivery was worse. Very bad customer service from the driver. I was also highly upset that they didn't have something to cover my flooring while they moved the furniture. I also had major problems using the overpriced warranty. My experience was absolutely terrible from the beginning to the end.

When we first purchased our white leather family room recliners and sofa, we were told by the sales associate that punctures, stains, rips, tears, etc., were covered under the warranty plan for $x per piece.  This was NOT the case because when we had to return our sofa due to a stain that we could not get out, we were told that that condition was not included in the warranty.  After some rough discussions they exchanged the sofa for a new one.  This encouraged us to continue to patronize the store due them working with us on the sofa.
Since this experience, the service has greatly improved!  The sales associate we dealt with was honest and knew the furnature we were trying to purchase and was familiar with the warranty.  We were able to take advantage of the 20% discounts as advertised on top of (what I thought) was a very reasonable price for the quality furniture we were getting.
We continued to purchase a dining room set, bedroom set, and other incidental decorations i.e. mirrors, sconces, etc.
Overall, our experience at The Room Place has been a good one.  I would recommend this store to anyone.  I do believe that getting the 'right' sales associate makes a difference.
When you go to The Room Plance, Do ask about the warranty before you purchase.  Do ask questions about the return policy and quality of furniture you are buying.  Given all of this, your experience should be a good one.

I would never recommend this place.  Originally, the price and table that I purchased looked good and was at a good price.   I picked up my new table and chairs promptly (which by the way, they charge a $40 fee to pick up your own order) and noticed that the table had a scratch on it, some chair legs had a scratch, and a leather portion to a chair was ripped.   So, I called the store, which wasted 45 min of my day.  Then, they scheduled someone to come examine the table.  However, I was not able to make their scheduled time so I had to reschedule.  The rescheduled date was 1 month after the purchase!  I then told the store that this was unacceptable and emailed them photos of the damage.  The store then came and exchanged my goods with delivery.  The second table also has a scratch!  So, I took the table to the store, not wanting to get the phone "run around."  There, the staff was unprofessional and "trashy".  Again, they saw the damage and believed a tech could come fix my table.  Again, I had to work around their schedule.  That is currently where I am in the process.  Likely, I will have to just return everything as the table will not be able to be fixed, and I am sick of wasting my time on table top number 2 and likely 3.  This is the worst furniture experience I have ever had.  I will be sticking to Godby furniture as I did on previous purchases.

I just got back from The Room Place and had a terrible experience with a lying sales associate Bruce and an unapologetic Senior Sales Associate Jason Ascevado. Admittedly, I was not fond of the tattooed hand and arm Bruce, who constantly hovered of my girlfriend and I as we tried out mattresses. We browsed for about 40 minutes and we finally decided on a mattress we wanted, the Simmons Beauty Rest. Presently, they are running a Labor Day sale, and they have a Queen for Full special. The mattress sticker price "base" price was 1499, and the sticker price 1369. While pondering our decision, Bruce said he could give me free delivery, a frame, and do 6 months no financing. I told him I could do 1100 for the mattress and he said that 1169 was the price and he could not go lower since I was "already getting 300 off the price." I knew he was not very good with math, and that he clearly could not remember the "base" price. However, Bruce shook my hand and called it a deal. He sat me down and I began filling out the paperwork for the 6mo no interest financing. About 5 minutes into the process Bruce came over and said that he could not do 1169. He could only do 1369, the "sticker" price on the mattress. I told Bruce he shook on the price and I was not going to buy the mattress if he raised it back up. He said that he could not go any lower. I asked him if there was anyone I could talk to and he said he was the manager and there was nothing he could do about the price. I prompted him if he was the "store manager" and he said "yes I'm the store manager." Clearly he was ignorant to the fact that his name tag said "Sales Associate." I walked up to the front of the store and found Jason Ascevado, the "Senior Sales Associate." He said he could not go lower than the sticker price. I explained the situation that Bruce shook on a lower price. At that point Bruce walked up and confronted me again. After Jason nodded him away after a couple of minutes, Jason said he could not go lower there was nothing he could do. No consolation, just a pure lie. Talk about bad business, not only was the "store manager Bruce" lying about the price, he lied about his position. I highly recommend that anyone who is considering visiting The Room Place, to realize the (1) the sales staff is particularly unprofessional, (2) the sales staff will quote a price and back out, (3) the sales staff will lie about their position and power, and (4) nobody at the store is accountable. You may end up wasting your time and be lied to if you visit The Room Place.

There products may look nice, but puchase with caution! Within a few months the leather began to wear & indentions were already showing where we sat. Then the frame broke. We called in about the warranty and they said they had to order a new frame and would take 6-8 weeks. I waited serval months and still no call, no frame. Today, I called to follow up and they said they denied the claim. Even though the tech said it was due to a knot in the frame that caused a weak point. I will use much caution before purchasing furniture in the future and The Room Place will not be on the list of stores!

It went very well. I was greeted by Nick as I walked in to the store. I told him exactly what I was looking for and he took me straight to what I wanted. He did not pressure me to make a purchase, try to upsell me into a more expensive set, answered all of my questions, and made the transaction very easy. My furniture arrived on time the day they said it would. I have and would recommend The Room Store in Castleton to any one looking for living room furniture.

Not good. We found a sectional we really wanted with power recliners on the floor. We wanted it to arrive before company came in a few weeks. They could only get us the non-powered before then. We asked if they would sell us the floor model (which we would not take delivery of until they recieved the non-powered recliner within the week, so that they would not have a big blank space on their sales floor. They completely refused. They had customers willing to buy immediately, and refused. Along with their pushy and annoying sales staff, we will not be going there again.

The salesman told us this table was covered by a years warranty, but this does not apply to the marble, which we weren?t told. When we picked the table up ourselves we did not receive information on how to properly take care of the table. When I told her this she gave me the number of an upholstery repair company in another state. Room Place will do nothing for me. When I told her I was afraid to now eat or drink at my table she told me to use placemats! Buyer beware about this company. They have nice furniture, but I feel like they just don?t want to work with me period.

My girlfriend and I went in and we were met by Frank, the salesman. We found a living room set we loved and decided to purchase it. He told us that everything was included: end tabels, lamps, coffee tables, couches and chair. We set the delivery date up for Friday from 5-8. They got there around 8:35. They brought everything but the chair. I called Frank the next day to ask where the chair was and he said probably on backorder and he would get back to me. He never did... I called his manager on Monday Morning and he told me you will have to talk to Frank on Wednesday when he comes in but it doesn't look like I paid for it. I told him I did and this has to be a misunderstanding. Wednesday Morning I got a hold of Frank and he told me again that he will research it and get back to me. He never called. Thursday I called again and he told me that I didn't pay for it and it will be 650 dollars extra. I told him that I did pay for it and that is what we agreed on. He lied and told me that he explained it clearly and my girlfriend and I misunderstood. I then called the store manager (John) on Friday. He told me there was nothing I can do for you besides give you 50 off the chair. I told him I was so frustrated, I just want to return the furniture. He said that there is a 3 day return policy and they won't do that. I explained that I have been trying to figure this out for a week and couldn't get a straight answer. He just said too bad. I went to corporate and they did not do much about it either. BOTTOM LINE: STAY AWAY FROM THE ROOM PLACE. There sneaky sales tactics are very unethical and when you question them, they will not help you.

The Room Place delivered all of the items I picked out and purchased. When they delivered them, I could not fit an end table and lamp in the way I wanted to. So I had them take them back and credit my account with them for another item. I went in the next day to pick out a painting to replace the lamp and table I returned and had noticed that the set of furniture I picked out had dropped $200 cheaper than what I had paid. I talked with the owner and asked him if there would be anyway I could get some money back or a discount on what I owed. I ended up in dispute with them for three months and still haven't got any money back.
