One of the roofers pulled out an electric generated roof vent and not realizing that it was electric and thought it was just there sitting without any power to it and left it behind and I’m still waiting for the electricity to be reconnected to that vent. The quality of roofing was fine. They forgot roofed my garage which is part of the original package but I called them and the roofers came back and finished that. The guttering people came out. Both the roofers and the gutter people were sub-contractors and the gutter people came out and did the work last and they neglected to do a small piece of guttering backdoor over hang and I called them about that but it has not been done. These was done back at the end of November, right before the weather and the temperature turn very bad, and I’m cutting them some huge lacquered because the weather has been so bad and I have not heard from them yet.

The process from initial inspection of the shingles, through the insurance claims process, and the completion of the roof was extremely efficient and simple. The project manager, Darren King, was courteous and helpful, without any pressure. Other contractors had looked at our roof, but we opted to delay our decision because they had been rushed and pushy about the work. Mr. King spent a significant amount of time looking at our roof, drawing out chalk lines, taking photographs, and sharing his findings with us. He educated us on the damage that had occurred to our roof and how that damage had reduced the life of our shingles. Later, he was accessible to answer questions whenever I called and had other Steve Davis Construction staff who were able to answer my questions about materials and products that were being installed on my roof. They provided a selection of reputable national brands of shingles and accessories, plus made suggestions for the best type of roof for our area. Once the brand of roofing was selected, Mr. King delivered our 4 top choices of the shingles on sample boards that provided a larger perspective of what the shingles would look like. Wanting to see some of the shingles on an actual roof, Mr. King obtained permission from a homeowner nearby for us to view their recently completed roof. It was a helpful gesture that ultimately led us to a shingle texture and color that we are thrilled with. The installation process was amazing... had an old roof when I left for work in the morning and a new one when I arrived home that same evening. Not a single blade of grass was out of place! They did such quick and clean work, that I never would have known a crew had been working at my home. The yard was clean and the landscaping was undisturbed. Because we have dogs that run the perimeter of the home, Mr. King took extra time and effort to run the magnet device over the yard a second time to ensure no nails were present to harm our pets or kids. Because of other homes in the neighborhood that were also impacted by recent storms, we have been asked about our experience with Steve Davis Construction. They have noticed the new roof and the improvement in appearance it has made. The follow-up has been impressive, and they continue to be available for my questions. If you have insurance repairs, I would recommend this company as they seem to have expertise to assist homeowners in navigating the sometimes turbulent insurance claims process. Mr. King cleared time in his schedule to meet my insurance adjuster at my home to advocate on my behalf. It was a move that definitely increased my confidence in their customer service. I would recommend this company to my neighbors, but honestly, Steve Davis Construction's work on my home spoke for itself... leading my surrounding neighbors to also have their inspected and repaired.

In Feb of 2013 noticed several water stains in the living room hallway & dining area. Promply called the roofing contractor Larry Tyler & informed him of the problem.. A week & 1/2 later were contacted by Derek Ford the general manager. He said we could use their painter or one of our own. Also they would match the colors. As of today 4/5/2013 nothing has been done. The only people who looked at the roof was a guy that came to check our siding & a painter who came out to paint last Tuesday. Never has a roofing person checked out the roof. Entirely unprofessional!!!!! Am getting an outside opinion on the roof because still have no reason for the damage. The paint guy kept trying to tell us our ceiling was not painted (which it is) & he was told to bring white paint. I told him we were told the colors would match. Fail to take responsibiity for the damage. Will never use them again.

The work was completed in a timely manner then the trouble began. I initially thought that the work looked ok, but when people started coming over to my house they commented that the siding trim around my doors and windows was not right. The trim pieces were supposed to meet up in the corners. Instead they were over laid, under cut, or just bent into place. Now the siding is loose and I am told it was not hung properly and should be redone. Additionally my gutter started leaking because while they were supposed to be replaced he just reused the old one instead. I took him to court and found out that much to my surprise he had not even gotten a permit and had let his contracting license with the city expire. I have tried for years to be reimbursed for the damages to my property, but over and over I am told that since he broke the law I am out of luck. He is a scam artist of the lowest caliber. Heck he even took an $8000 check to a check cashing place to hid his bank account information. Save yourself the trouble and your money and go with someone else you won't regret it.
