From the point of first contact with Service Plus to their driving away from the completed job, everyone was great and professional. After unsuccessfully trying to get other plumbers out to estimate our work, I left a voice message with Service Plus. To my shock, a representative called me back to schedule an appointment within a few hours. She asked when would a good time to come out. I said 2, and Steve was here by 2 p.m. A few hours before he was to arrive, I was emailed a profile of him with picture and biography. Shortly before 2 he called and said that he was on his way. He was a real nice guy. Once we accepted his estimate, they were able to schedule the job the following Monday (he was out the previous Friday). He said he would be here by 9 a.m. Roy and Patrick showed up about a half hour before him. Both were great guys, but I was not ready to host. Minor quibble. They were extremely respectful of my family and property. They all wore service booties over their shoes. They had to leave to get a part they had forgot to bring with them and upon returning they noticed that the garbage truck was coming down the road. They actually moved their truck to allow the garbage truck to do its job. A few minutes later I went out to retrieve my cans, and Roy or Patrick had brought them into the garage for me. At 11 a.m. we were an hour away from my two-year-old twins nap time. I noticed that the noise the made drilling through the tile floor in the kitchen disturbed them, so I asked if they could cut the second hole immediately so that we could have a quiet nap time. They were more than happy to accommodate. When they completed the job they asked me to inspect it. While I am not a plumber, I know good workmanship from poor workmanship. It looked good. Then they came upstairs to the main level where my children were playing. Roy had fun entertaining them while Patrick and I took care of the bill. He genuinely seemed to like it. All in all, I was just really impressed with the service.
Description of Work: Installed two new CSST natural gas lines and a drip leg for the water heater.

They told me over the telephone that there would be a $30 surcharge for having an interior access point. I was fine with that. When the service tech came, he wanted to charge me an extra $300 for the job. The deal was pretty clear about what was included. I tried to resolve the issue with the company, but they never returned any of my calls. This is the second time this has happened with this company AND this technician. Either the staff is poorly-trained, or this is standard protocol.

I explained I just wanted the minimum done to get the plumbing working again (meaning a repair, not a replacement). I am a single mom with 3 kids; I was laid off from my job in February and have just started working again recently and have not had a chance to put any money into savings yet, so I couldn't afford the $2500.00 up front. I asked if there was a way to make payment arrangements and the tech said he'd talk to the owners and would try to work something out. He left and I didn't hear anything back until the next afternoon when I texted his cell phone to ask if he had talked to the owners, and he said not yet. This went on for a week, and finally he responded with "Call the main office and ask." I called and was told they do not do payment arrangements. I am fine with that if that is their policy, but why couldn't the tech just tell me that the same day he came to the house? I started calling around to other plumbers, and they had the same no-payments policy, but they told me this up-front right away. Someone suggested I hire an excavator separately to dig the hole, and then have a licensed plumber do the repair, as I could save money that way. It took me 2 weeks to save up enough money to pay someone for the excavation. I had the hole dug, and guess what? NOTHING WAS BROKEN. I called Service Plus back, and asked them if they could please check their notes and come out to mark exactly where the tech claimed the break was, or at least tell me how far from the clean-out the break was exactly, thinking it might have been further under the house than initially thought. Service Plus refused because I was not hiring them to do the rest of the work. I was simply asking them to give me the information from the time they were already out to the house. They told me they would not be doing anything else. On Nov 21, after an entire month with no plumbing, I had a plumber come out and he ran an auger with a cutter through my sewer line and the problem was fixed in less than an hour. If Service Plus had not told me my 9 year old PVC piping was broken, I would have had enough money to have my line cleaned out right away. But because I was told I needed the yard excavated, I had to save up for 2 weeks to have enough to have the hole dug, then save up another 2 weeks to have enough for the plumber to come out. I still have no idea why the tech claimed my line was broken, or why he didn't attempt to run a cutter through it in the first place (I would have had enough to pay for that if he had done it that day). This caused me significant stress considering I have 3 kids and had to drive them somewhere every time someone needed to use the restroom. I had to leave my job, drive 30 minutes home to take the kids for a bathroom break (school Fall break was during this time), then drive 30 minutes back to work every day. We had a run of some kind of stomach virus during this time, and I had to make over 10 bathroom trips a day for an entire weekend. I wasted a lot of money on gasoline, an unnecessary excavation, a second plumber, having to wash clothes at a laundry mat for myself and 3 kids for a month, and I had to pay for a membership at the YMCA so that we could have a place to shower daily (we have no family here). I had company come from out of town that had already planned their trip, but had not budgeted for a hotel because they were supposed to be staying at my house. They stayed at the house, but it was embarrassing to have to take them places to go to the restroom and use guest passes for them to shower at the YMCA. I had to go to food pantries several times for food because all my grocery money was used on gas and laundry. We had to eat microwave food for the month because without being able to wash dishes, we couldn?t cook. This entire ordeal could have been prevented with an accurate diagnosis of my plumbing problem. I will never use Service Plus again.
Description of Work: On October 18, 2014, I had water flooding into my home through the downstairs toilet. The technician came out and ran a camera down into the clean-out. He then told me that I had a separation in the sewer line between the clean-out and where the PVC piping goes into my 9-year-old house. He said to repair the break would be at least $2500.00, because they would have to excavate part of the yard to get to it, and if it turned out the whole line needed to be replaced, it would be around $12,000.

Dear Angie's List Member, I hope that this response can help to alleviate some of the pain you experienced, I have spoken to our entire staff about what happen and I assure you that when we used our sewer camera to scope your sewer line we found that the pipe was crushed and needed replaced. It is our company policy that we cannot locate the damaged spot unless we have a work order in place. That is why we could not locate it for the other company. The repairman was very professional, courteous and respectful. He showed me results of items removed from plumbing and cleaned up after the work was done. There was a need for an additional follow-up service call and the same repairman came to address the issue. I am very satisfied with the work and would recommend Service Plus to others needing plumbing service.

I cannot believe this company is rated #1 on Angie's List. I'll break it down for you: -First, I used their website to 'schedule' an appointment online. The next day I got an email saying that time was not available and to call to schedule. -A few weeks later, when I had time to call, I called them to make an appointment. A girl answered and took all my information and then said they'd have the scheduler call me back. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. -A week and a half later I called again (I wanted to make sure they had ample time to make an effort to call me back). This time I started off the conversation by saying I had tried to make an appointment with the website which failed and left a message with someone who said I'd get a call back, which also failed. This girl did see my info in the system (proof I had talked to someone before) and got me set up for an appointment. -The NIGHT before my appointment they leave me a voice mail basically saying it's going to be cold the next day and they want to reschedule my appointment, because they MAY have people call that don't have heat (a/k/a people who they can charge more) -I call the company back regarding their incredibly tacky and rude voicemail message and let them know that there is no way I am rescheduling my tune up appointment because a) it was extremely difficult to get set because of their poor customer service and b) the whole POINT on getting my HVAC serviced is so that I DON'T end up without heat and in an emergency. They 'let' me keep my appointment. -The next day the called 30 minutes ahead as promised and arrived on time -They service technicians did not have the filter needed for our HVAC unit so my husband had to go buy one as it was 'not included' in the $44 Angie's list HVAC tune-up I purchased (really? because last time I checked you should assume the filter need replaced. -When my husband arrived home the 'other' service tech had left to go back to the shop for a pad for the humidifier, because apparently they don't carry those with them either. -The humidifier service (THE PAD) was not incuded in the coupon we purchased (which we knew) and that was an extra $60.00....for A PAD. Nothing else was wrong. Needless to say I cannot believe this company is rated number 1. Their customer service is horrendous and we will certainly NEVER be using them again.

I called to set up a plumbing service call, and the woman I spoke with directed me to their coupon on Angie's List. We set the date on the phone, and I purchased the coupon afterward, which was super helpful. When the Service Plus plumber arrived, he introduced himself, put on protective covers for his shoes, and asked me to show him where the problem was. I explained that I had smelled gas coming from the fire place insert last year, so I just shut off all the valves. He turned things back on and located the leak quickly. Things were repaired, and I had a warm fire within minutes. He also went above and beyond and tried to help me troubleshoot an electrical problem while we waited for the gas lines to prove that there were no more leaks to be found. I would definitely call them again.
Description of Work: I needed to have a leak in my gas fireplace insert located and fixed.

I felt that I paid $59.00 for nothing. While the technician was very nice (personable), he did not offer to get a plug and come back at a later date. He did point out some deteriorating pipe in the area and offered to replace it (over $1000.00). I have since had another company come out and clean my drains. While they were chiseling out the old plug, I went to the hardware to purchase a replacement; easy solution to a simple problem.
Description of Work: The provider was hired to do a visual inspection of the drain. When he went into the cellar (which has narrow, steep stairs) and looked at the plug to the drain he indicated that he would have to chip it out with a chisel because of its age. Unfortunately, he did not have the correct replacement plug on his truck so he couldn't do the job.

I e-mailed and requested a service call ASAP. After 2 days I called and they scheduled for the following day. e The guy showed up on time. he checked under the sink and found that I needed a new sprayer hose. He didn't have one with him and said he would have to order it. He then quoted me a price of $109.00 for the part and labor. That would be a total of $139.00!1 I took a picture of the hose, went to Lowes and purchased one for $5.29. It took me about 20 minuted to replace. if I had any talent at all it could have been done in 5 minutes. Actually, I had other things that I was going to have them look at and quote. But not at those prices. NO!!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM!!!
Description of Work: Had a leak under the kitchen sink. Service plus had a deal for $29.00 so I purchased it.

Brian came out to give us an estimate on a Saturday morning. He was on time. He was very easy to deal with and offered several options for the repairs. He was knowledgeable and explained everything. He came out a few days later to do the work we selected - remove and replace old plumbing lines in shower and install new fixtures. It was done very timely.

Despite not being able to utilize their services on this issue, I wanted to give them credit for prompt response times and great communication. If the opportunity rises, I would definitely call on them again.

Great! Both were very professional, explained exactly what they were doing. Did a thorough check of both systems. Water heater service technician explained exactly why he couldn't flush the water heater and explained some options for replacing the water heater when needed. Was very honest and helpful. Service Plus was easy to work with, scheduled everything seamlessly. Called to let me know when they would be there and then gave me a 30 minute window the day of. Both technicians left a printed copy of exactly what the checked on each unit. I was happy with this service.
Description of Work: Two separate service providers came, one checked the heating the other checked the Water Heater.

Bought this service months ago knowing that I have a sewer line issue. Used it today. They honored the deal even though it had expired several days back. Tech was early and did a good job. Gave us an estimate for a repair on the bigger issue we have of needing to replace the line. Did a great job and would be glad to use these guys again.

First service call with this company was to try to clear a floor drain in our basement. Unfortunately, we have an older home and the floor drain could no longer be utilized for our washer to drain into. Service Plus (Dan) tried to snake the drain, but could not clear it. We had them come out a few days later to install what they recommended, a bucket pump connected to our washing machine that tied into our sewer line. They were there around 3 hours and all is well! Dan was very knowledgeable and did a great job.
Description of Work: Purchased a big deal for $29 service call and then hired them to install a bucket pump for a washer that is located in our basement.

I was called by Service Plus the day before my appointment to see if I would be able to change the day of my appointment because they were getting many calls about no heat. I was not able to change the day of my appointment, but they actually worked with me to make a more specific appointment time rather than a 4-hour window. Lex called about half an hour before he arrived (on time). He completed what appeared to be (from my lack of furnace cleaning experience) a thorough job cleaning the furnace and ensuring that all parts were working. He saw weak spots developing in the ignitor and explained why it would be best to get a new one. Lex was very professional and friendly and wanted me to get the best pricing on the ignitor (which included contracting with Service Plus for a spring a/c check, plumbing inspection, and fall furnace check for $99). It is sometimes risky to purchase a coupon for service, but I was impressed with Service Plus overall.
