Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

Recommended a full sewer replacement which was estimated to be about $8,000. At the time I did not have that kind of money. About 6 or 7 months later, there was a clog in the main line. Called them back to see if they would come back but the company stated they would not come back without purchasing a new sewer line. I was initially happy when they originally came out for my services. That has since been cleaned and unclogged. After the second interaction, I will not be using this company again.

I had to buy a completely new HVAC system. They were able to help me out. Lex, their service rep, did an outstanding job! There was an issue, however it was a manufacturer issue, but they came and fixed it. Although they quoted me a one day job, it was completed in two and half days.

It was very good. The technician found that the condensing pump was not draining into the pipe, it was not operating effectively or at all. I actually mentioned it to him that I noticed water on the floor in the basement. He took that apart, found that it was clogged so he cleaned it, put it back together, and it has been working fine since. He also said that these things will fail overtime and he went ahead and gave me an estimate for what it would cost to replace the pump if I were to do it within the next month or so.

Called for service at 9:00 am and service man arrived at 10:45. They had installed the disposal in 9/2014. I had felt inside the disposal and could not feel anything lodged in it. Dan Craig, the technician, removed a measuring spoon. He was friendly and professional and didn't make me feel like the fool I thought I was. He asked if there were any other things, he should check out, and did look at the water heater they had installed in 9/2014. He did not charge for the call, which I thought was very generous.

I purchased a deal for an A/C inspection. Dave Miller is the one who came out. I've worked with him before and always make sure that it's him that does my inspections. He's very knowledgeable and always explains what he's doing and gives me tips of things I can do myself as he does the inspection. He's also very friendly and personable. During the inspection, he discovered a dual capacitor that was going bad. The person who had rigged up the capacitor previously did not do so in a professional manner. Dave explained to me all my options, and I decided to have him replace it. The price of the inspection and capacitor replacement was around $630. It was expensive, but I'm glad he caught it and prevented potential A/C issues.

The service provided was informative and fair. We were so impressed we contracted for an annual furnace AC and plumbing maintenance agreement. We highly recommend this company.

We've used them in the past. They responded very quickly. They also have a warranty. It's a big company that you can trust.

They came out and checked the system and found that we needed a new one, they did a great job and they had someone out on the same day that I called. They explained all my options, and I decided on a new system, they were very professional, on time and the techs were great. I would recommend them to anyone.

The technician was pleasant, efficient, and effective. We ended up purchasing a service contract.

I was a little disappointed that the technicians felt that given the age of the water heater, they shouldn't flush the system. At least they were honest about it, but I wish I could've gotten my money back. Nonetheless, they did fix my toilet so it was worth it to get them out there and know what was going on.

Love the email before the visit with the picture and history of the technician.. work was done as promised. I could have done without the pitch for the the service plan.

It went very well. I was really pleased with the company, especially the technician. I would highly recommend them. The only problem was that the coupon was for a main drain clearing and I needed a different drain cleared.

In replacing the toilet the plumber found that the tank on the new one was taller than the old one. And there was a shelf that had been permanently built over the top of the old toilet for the bathroom.. The shelf was not letting the new tank fit into the space provided by the old shorter toilet tank.. The guy did not get frustrated or rattled. He just looked the situation over. And said he thought the new one would fit if the shelf could be cut out a little bit from underneath. Keeping the shelf in place but getting the room needed for the the new tank to fit. And on top of that he had the tool needed, some kind of saw and the skill to be able to do it and did it without missing a beat and without losing his good attitude. And it worked. The "shelf surgery" was successful. The tank fit perfectl and the tolet got replaced and is working great! The guy was on time, early in fact. Wore a company uniform. Had a professional demeanor, attitude and was thoroughly knowledgeable about his trade. He WAS COURTEOUS And efficient. The bill came out to what the quote was they did not charge extra for having to trim out the shelf for the tank. Great job Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing!!

Tech did good job hooking garden hose to water heater and letting water run out for 15 minutes. However, he was unaware he was also there to inspect and check a long list of plumbing items on "Big Deal" detail sheet. The office needs to communicate the job details to the technicians going out to do the work. My main reason for purchasing the whole house plumbing inspection was to have the sump pump evaluated. Since this is a fairly new home, I told him to go ahead and fore go the entire list of items and just check the sump pump, and the gas line to my stove. Sump pump is sealed (with caulk) due to radon mitigation and I was told there would be an additional charge to actually open it up to test the plumbing. So he only felt the pipe to see if water was running through it. I felt that was pretty ineffective testing. He did find a gas leak in connection under my stove and tightened the fitting. He commented that the repair would've cost over $300 on it's own. Are you kidding me? To tighten a fitting? I also got hooked into a $99 annual maintenance agreement for plumbing inspection and HVAC inspection. Coming out in a week or so to do furnace inspection. Hope it is more thorough than plumbing inspection. They also provided a quote to move sump pump discharge pipe to other side of house through an unfinished basement. Quote was over $1500. Too high, I'll do it myself for the price of 100 ft of pvc pipe. They also provided a quote of $3097 to run a new gas line through unfinished basement to outside patio. Can not afford that either. UPDATE - contacted Thornton Plumbing for a second opinion. They found sump pump to be running on battery backup as the pump had failed. They replaced both sump pumps for $830, $500 less than rerouting just line, and my problem was finally resolved. See A+ review under Thornton Plumbing.

I just want to cancel that deal

Things went great and we were very impressed with them. He was able to diagnose the problem, and let us know that what needed to replaced was not an immediate concern. We appreciated his honesty.

They were excellent. Prompt, professional, excellent workmanship and communication.

I didnt need the deal because I was able to correct the problem myself. They called us quickly and scheduled an appointment. There were no problems at all with the provider.

They found the leak ordered the correct parts and got my AC back up and running quickly. Will definitely use them again.

This is the second time I have used this provider. They are on time, clean, and professional. You can tell the provider enjoys working with Angie's List. The tech called about 30 mins before arriving. I am very happy with the provider.

Technicians arrived promptly and checked inside and outside unit, replacing the filter, and checking the system for any issues. In consideration of my home, booties were used by both technicians to cover shoes.

The technician arrived earlier than scheduled time after making a call to see if that would be okay. He was very informative and took care of the problem, including cleaning up after himself. I highly recommend Service Plus to anyone wanting prompt and courteous as well as knowledgeable technicians making any repairs to furnace or AC.

Turns out it wasn't a blocked drain, but an old drain that is letting sewer gas back in due to a missing plug. He provided an estimate to replace with a new drain. Professional. Called ahead when they said he would. He was on time.

Our Service Plus technician, Ryan, arrived around 6:00 pm to evaluate the basement bathroom toilet that wasn't able to flush. He determined the sewage pump needed to be replaced. He didn't have the proper replacement on his truck, so he provided us a quote and promised to return in the morning after he picked up supplies from the plumbing house. When Ryan returned the next morning he promptly got to work. He was polite and respectful of our home. He made sure everything was in working order before he left. He cleaned up after himself and even took away debris the previous technicians had left behind in the crawlspace. We would definitely use Service plus again.

I have to say I am becoming somewhat disenfranchised with Service Plus. At the end of the day, they do have what I consider to be the most professional techs. Very courteous, prompt, do what they say they will do, and so on. When you pay them to do installation work, they do it well and provide good warranty support. Whenever they were in our house they were very concerned with being clean, putting down tarps/plastic, and vacuuming up any debris. Unfortunately, with my cooling tune-up, heating tune-up, and some plumbing work earlier in the year I have come to the conclusion that the techs are more interested in sales commissions than ensuring they do quality preventative maintenance work. Certainly, all the extras that Service Plus provides do create additional overhead, and not charging extra for weekend/after-hours rates just means everybody who has their work done during the weekday is just paying more. But in my mind, the value is simply no longer there. After the last visit to my house for a heating tune-up I do have to question their ethics. My furnace had been replaced by the seller of my home with a new high-efficiency unit (builder-grade which the techs love to poo-poo, but it works). The tech came to my house and performed a couple tests and informed me that my blower was "amping" too high on startup and also that it was blowing too hard causing the temperature differential between supply/return to be too low. The price quoted to fix was for a new $750 blower motor. Upon doing a little research, I found it to be fact that performing an amp test on the blower motor starting and running thereafter while the furnace door is off (which it was) is not a valid test. It always reads too high when the door is off. Secondly, it was a correct diagnosis that the temperature differential was 10 degrees too low, and that the blower was pushing the same air speed on heat that it does for cold, when in reality you don't need as much air flow when in heating mode. Since I have a home warranty paid for by the seller of my home, I opened a ticket for this case. Contractor came out, agreed with Service Plus diagnosis, spent 2 minutes doing some re-wiring, and the problem was solved. I saved $690 after paying for the $60 trade-call fee. Going forward, I intend to find a company that I can simply pay market rates for their time performing annual preventative maintenance, rather than pay for a loss-leader coupon/deal where the premise becomes "what can we sell you why we are here" rather than the true task at hand of performing preventative maintenance.
