Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

It was fine. They did a better job than they could have probably. The pricing was fine and they actually quoted us on the pricing of some other stuff that was really high, but on what they did the pricing was fine because it was a deal.

It worked out fine. There was no additional cost for the work. It took 30-45minutes to finish the job.

They came back a couple of times each month and until the deal was serviced. They did a little bit each month and then redid the entire plumbing. Initially they ran a camera and diagnosed the problems. We then had a methane emergency and had to act quickly. They came right away and fixed the problem. They were fantastic. They took very specialized care. The manager came out and talked to us. They were very attentive. They gave us a quote initially of the whole project and of the different sections that could be done if we couldn’t do it all at once. There were financing options. They explained everything throughout the process.

Contractor was unable to open the cleanout in the basement. (though this cleanout was subsequently opened by Hope Plumbing. They broke out the old cleanout and replaced it) Contractor suggested cleaning through the toilet line, but wanted > $200 to remove the toilet for the task. He suggested I remove the toilet and call him back. I never followed up with them, but hired Hope for the job instead.

During a routine cleaning, told me my furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and could be leaking carbon monoxide. Technician called his supervisor who came out to inspect the furnace as well. He concurred that it had a cracked heat exchanger. Therefore, company policy is to "red flag" the unit for the safety of the homeowner. This entails turning off gas and electricity to the unit until repairs can be made. Quote for repair would be $1600. Two subsequent companies found nothing wrong with my furnace. Cost to me was $164 for second and third opinions. Contacted Chris Cunningham the owner by registered mail. I asked for cancellation and refund of the $99 service agreement as I felt his company was not qualified to render service. I asked for the $164 cost to verify furnace was not in need of repair or leaking carbon monoxide. Received no response from him or anyone at the company. Currently in the process of filing a consumer complaint with the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Indiana for fraudulent sales tactics. Currently in the process of filing a complaint with the State of Indiana licensing board as I feel their technicians are either not honest, or not qualified, since they diagnosed unneeded pair. Currently in the process of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

He did a great job, and went above and beyond. Timely and made sure I understood what he was doing.

Everything went really well. The technician did a good job, the pricing was reasonable, and scheduling was simple. They did such a good job that I signed up for a regular maintenance plan with the company.

Ryan was our technician. He was very responsive and helpful to us in giving us information on the products. Once the water heater was chosen, they came out to remove the old water heater and to install the new one. They were prompt, courteous, and professional. Grateful for their very quick response during some very cold days!

Everything was fine except for the price. The price quote was too high for the amount of work that needed to be done.

Punctual, friendly, and thorough. Educated us on how to maintain furnace and tips on improving function and efficiency.

Danny came over to heck up the heating in the house. He found the problems at the heat pump and provided suggestions. He was very polite, professional and knowledgeable.

!When I called the company around midnight Friday night, I was told that a technician probably wouldn't be available for several hours...likely 5:00 a.m. or later. Technician called around 5:40 a.m. that he was on the way...close enough to 5:00 for me! (Plus I got more sleep!) Technician checked the problem, advised me of the cost to repair, then repaired. Efficient use of technology (an iPad wannabe) in preparing estimate and in preparing bill and entering charge card info. Technician was professional. Final bill was the same as estimate. Great job. I would use again, but hopefully not for the same problem!

Very nice and informative. Offered to do extras services (changing the thermostat) that I had planned to do myself. Let me know what I could do to prolong the life of my heating system, and save money too.

It was fine. Scheduling wasn’t difficult and everything went well.

He did the second part for free. He didn’t charge me extra except we didn’t understand that it was way out of his way so he did charge me a little extra for the transportation. He was really good.

The deal was alright. They did everything they were supposed to. It was a good service.

The service went really well. We were impressed with the company and ended up using them for a plumbing service. We also signed a service contract with them. The technician was very knowledgeable and happy to answer any of our questions. They did a good job. I like that they are locally owned company as well. I had no problem scheduling their service.

I had them do some other work as well at roughly the same time. I had them replace a water heater, a sink faucet, and fix a leaky shower faucet. They had to replace the new water heater in short order because right after they put it in, it began leaking. However, one thing I didn't like was, after installing the new water heater, they covered the furnace's service history with their own stickers. I did not appreciate this as that information had nothing to do with the water heater. My original HVAC company was good enough recreate the dates and comments, which I immediately put back on the furnace. I want to easily see what's been done to our furnace and air conditioner. (I still use that original company for the annual furnace and air conditioning check-ups.) Also, Service Plus did not give us the manufacturer's paperwork for the new interior faucet, despite my calling multiple times to ask for it. I'm still waiting on that... Otherwise, I believe the other installations went well and I know of no problems with the other faucets.

Brian was the representative that came out to our house to perform the water heater flush, and plumbing inspection. He arrived in the allotted time frame, and was very courteous. Our house is about 13 years old; my wife and I moved into the house almost 2 years ago. I informed Brian that I have yet to flush the water heater and was also unsure of when or if the previous home owners ever flushed the water heater. After talking with me and looking into the history of the water heater, with his expertise, we mutually decided that due to the age of the water heater and the unknown time frame of which it was last drained, it is best to forgo draining the water heater. He was adamant about draining it if we wished since it is what we paid for, but talking with him more about this, he proceeded to inspect the plumbing of the house and further talk with me about what my wife and I can look out for when considering a new water heater and water softener purchase as both are high on our list for home improvements. Very pleased with Brian and the entire team that worked with us.

My furnance blower started making a loud noise and finally quit working at about 6PM. Low temps that night were supposed to get down around 3 degrees so I had to get it fixed as soon as possible. Service Plus was quick to take my call and had a service tech out to my house in about 2 hours. I was told by phone that I would be charged $79 for the service call, which I was fine with. The tech was professional, knowledgable, and quick to realize that it was indeed that furnance motor. He quoted me a price of over $700 to replace the motor only. That is absolutley outrageous! I didn't have much of a choice other than to let my house freeze and try to fix it the next day. He offered what he called "discounts" and lowered the price to $664. The furnance is approximately 15 years old and he replaced the motor only with a universial US Motors Rescue Motor. It was easy to get to and I had it opened up when he arrived. Labor time was about one hour and after researched the parts he installed, I found they cost about $120 online (motor & capacitor). That's $544 just in labor for 45 minutes of work! I understand people need to make a living but in my opinion they new they had me and took advantage of it. I told him that was way high for the work and he said the price is set nationally and he couldn't do anything to change it. I will not be using Service Plus in the future and I cannot recommend them because of the outrageously high price. I was happy with the the service tech and his knowledge of HVAC systems.

They were able to flush the water heater, even though it was old and hadn't been flushed for several years. A part did need to be replaced on the water heater, for an extra charge. He inspected all the other plumbing in the house and made some recommendations regarding insulating some pipes that tend to freeze, all very helpful. I thought prices to install a new water heater were high compared to others. Professional, and prompt, I was happy with the service and bought a contract with them.

Danny was great! He was at our front door within an hour of our call, even on a Sunday! Our furnace had been working intermittently, and we get nervous in those situations because we assume someone will try to upsell us a brand-new appliances even if we don't need it. Danny was able to very quickly diagnose the problem, show us how to avoided in the future, and provided a quote for a whole house humidifier that we will be looking to get some time the next year. He did all of this with in about 15 minutes. Was super nice to her two-year-old daughter, sing a couple of frozen songs, I was very friendly with her pets. We would love to have them out next time we need a call!
