Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

I purchased a service plus Angie's list deal for $40service call. They came on time and were very professional. However, the price they quoted was insane. Drip leg which costs no more than $50 for materials and 30-45 min of work for installation was going to be $356. I asked if they could do it for lower because I know installing a drip leg is relatively easy and cheap. They said no. I turned down their price and called another company on Angie's list who quoted $200 for the entire job (including service call). They came it and did it in 35min immediately and happily. Prices for service plus almost double the other Angie's list provider. Absurd.

It went well. The technician was fine. He knew what he was supposed to do.

He showed up on time and looked at our coils. He found them to be iced over, so he turned off the unit to allow them to defrost. He explained that iced coils generally indicates a leak, so he would run a test to try to find the leak. He anticipated not being able to find it and recommended either new coils for around $2,500 or a new A/C system for around $5,000. He arranged to come back the next day. When he came back, he ran a wand over the coils, said he could not find a leak, and recommended a new system. He said that our system was almost at the end of its life, as it was nearly 12 years old. In the meantime, we had called another company and spoke with the owner, who said that these systems should last 20 years or more. The "other" technician came the third day, only to find that the Service Plus technician had turned our unit back on, had not turned it off or told us it was on, and the coils were iced over again. We had to wait yet another very hot day to finally get a technician out who would deal with us honestly. The "other" technician found a single leak, repaired it, and replenished the refrigerant, all for about $400. He also said that they could replace the entire system for about $2,500, but it was not necessary at this time. I will never use Service Plus again. I felt that they took advantage of us, tried to sell us a new unit that we didn't really need, and even if we did need one, their prices are sky high.

The gentleman who came on February 25 was nice and did flush the hot water tank. However, after he left I looked at the details of the deal I'd purchased again and I am not sure any of the other things included in the deal were done. I sent an e-mail on March 6 to the company expressing these concerns but never heard back. This company uses the deal as a way to try to sell ridiculously priced faucet installations. They gave me three estimates on replacing my kitchen faucet which I never mentioned replacing: $175, $390, and $626.00 Yes, $626.00 to replace one kitchen faucet. Not sink just faucet. I almost laughed at that. Was not impressed with company and I would never use them again or recommend to any one else.

Very professional. On time and performed installation within the time estimated. Friendly and courteous.

Provider was supposed to do tune up of furnace system. He identified all kinds of costly repairs, however, I got a 2nd and 3rd opinion and those repairs were not necessary. The only benefit I got out of this visit was to know that my unit was extremely low on freon.

Ryan did a wonderful job, we would definitely recommend him and use him and Service Plus again! He was professional, personable, efficient, and explained/answered our questions thoroughly. We called them at 9:15 and Ryan was here by 1:00. He had all necessary parts with him and charged a fait price.

IT WAS INSTALLED QUICKLY & WITHOUT ANY MESS.

Everything was done as advertised in the special deal. I was concerned that once they were in the house they would be determined to find something to fix, or to sell me. That was not the case at all. The person who came out was professional and informative. We did talk about a couple of things that I might want done sometime, or that would be nice but don't make sense due to space, etc. But those topics were initiated by me.

Technician was knowledgeable, prompt, and professional. Paid for service with Angie's list coupon.

The technician, Dan, arrived timely. I followed him around as he did his job and he explained everything he was doing while he was doing so I could understand. He gave me recommendations for maintaining and improving my system. He did an excellent job cleaning and maintaining my system. I have had Service Plus do the maintenance on both my heating and air conditioning systems for several years now and I highly recommend them for anyone that needs this kind of service.

I have used Service Plus for 3-4 years and have been overall pleased. They must have new management now. I was not happy with the customer service after my recent visit......I was not getting cold air through my vents so I called Service Plus and they were able to get a technician out the same day, great. Upon the technician visiting he did his inspection and went outside for 20 minutes. He told me he went ahead and replaced the capacitor, without initial approval, which was the reason I was not getting cold air through my vents. I asked how much the capacitor was but he couldn't give me an answer, he just told me what the TOTAL cost was.... So with my positive past experiences with Service Plus, I went ahead a paid him the money. Also want to ADD this included a $75.00 discount since I use their service plan. Would have cost $423.71......... After he left, I went online and reviewed capacitors run $25-$50 dollars. I couldn't believe they would CHARGE ~$300+ labor for 20 minutes!!!!!! I called the company and talked to first the receptionist who said a manager would call me to advise the cost of the unit plus labor. A manager ended up calling me and would NOT tell me how much the unit cost and would not divulge the labor cost......He said he would call me back and never did. I will not use Service Plus anymore and SAD this is the road they are heading since they offered good service in the past......

Service Plus had installed my furnace several years ago and I was pleased with them at that time. As a result I did not read the Plumbing reviews before I called the company. Big mistake as I see many others feel that they were overcharged. I was given a price of $126.77 to put my faucet back together. No parts included as I had provided those. This was a simple repair to an $80 faucet. The plumber, Steve, said that it cost the company a certain number of dollars just to send a truck out and that they had to recover those costs. Since I was already out $40 for the service call and had been without water in my kitchen for 2 days I reluctantly authorized the work. The faucet was put back together and it no longer leaks. I called the office that same day and asked to speak to Chris Cunningham - left a voice mail which he has never returned. The next day I was put in touch with Ronnie, a plumbing supervisor. After a review of the situation Ronnie offered to refund $40 if I would agree to not write a bad review on Angie's List. I was somewhat mollified that they were at least willing to acknowledge in some way that I had been overcharged. Two weeks later I called Ronnie - April 27th - to let him know that I had not received my refund. He did not seem very pleased to hear from me. Told me he would check into it and call me back. Today is May 8th and I have never heard from Ronnie nor have I ever received the refund check. Service Plus did complete this simple repair adequately and timely I feel I was overcharged for the service. Their subsequent follow up, lack of professionalism, and customer service are appalling and inexcusable. I have never before written a negative review on Angie's List

It went just fine. Someone from the office called and arrived a few minutes later. He was very good and did a nice job. It did take a little bit of time for the process of draining the hot water heater and filling it back up. The man was very competent.

They were responsive and were able to replace our water heater in the same day. It went well.

Short Story: They tried to fleece us. We will never call them again. Long Story: The service technician opened the ejector pit in the basement, "investigated", and reported to us that our problem was a failed ejector pump. He said specifically that the arm on our ejector pump was broken, and that the whole pump needed to be replaced because the parts for that make and model were no longer available. He then went on to say that the only ejector pumps Service Plus sells are of top quality, and cost approximately $2,400. Ridiculous. (A quick Google search will show a variety of ejector pumps ranging from $250 to $1,000.) He seemed most eager to demonstrate all of the cool graphics of the model he was pitching on his iPad point of sale system. I told him "Thank you very much - we'll think about it," and sent him on his way. We then called another plumber (RT Moore) who investigated and shared that our problem was simply a clogged pipe. Our ejector pump was not broken at all. The only issue with the pump was that it had been installed a little too close to the drain pipe which was what led to the clog. RT Moore removed the clog, and repositioned our ejector pump to prevent future clogs, and charged us a reasonable $193 for their time and effort. If you're looking for a dishonest and overzealous salesman, call Service Plus. If you're looking for a reliable plumber, look elsewhere.

Issue was taken care of completely and in short amount of time. Professional and friendly service.

Serviceman was prompt, efficient & courteous. I didn't have this company do the actual repair because their price was a lot higher than one of their competitors.

We used Service Plus a few years ago to install a new AC unit. Chris Cunningham, the founder and owner of the company, was recommended to me by a good friend. The service was great, so when it came time to replace our furnace, I gave Chris a call again. The company is much larger now, but the quality of service still remains top shelf. The new furnace was installed without any issues and the installers were professional and friendly. They cleaned up after and everything is working as expected. Taking advantage of the slow time between cold and warm weather also provided opportunity to get a nice price break. Thanks Service Plus!

I was satisfied w/ the sales and installation of the new furnace, required because the old one was not working properly.

Steven the Service Technician did a great job explaining everything, providing choices, taking out the old Hot water heater, installing the new hot water heater, and cleaning up after the job. Everything went well. I called with a leaking non functional hot water heater between 9 and 10 in the morning. A technician showed up close to noon and everything was done by around 4. The only suggestion I can make is that it seemed that the company uses an answering service on Saturday morning. The person working on the other end of the line seemed flustered, asked for the same information two or three times. In spite of that when someone called me who was actually with the company the address was completely wrong but that person was great at getting the info correct and keeping me informed as to when a technician was available and on the way.

Well. The technician was professional, courteous and thorough.

The person arrived, performed the services requested. They were professional, punctual, and all went without incident.

Jeremiah performed the inspection and service. Very thorough with the inspection and made recommendations without it feeling like just an up sell. Quick with the installation of the new thermocouple. Clean and professional.

This was an after hours service call in our newly purchased home...They have no extra charge for after hour service calls and since we had a unusually cold spring and we have a newborn it was important to get it fixed immediately. Top Notch and I ultimately bought their 1 year 4 visit service plan.
