Wednesday-Plumber showed up on time and verified that my main line to the sewer was blocked. He did not have the equipment to remove it.
Thursday- Plumbers showed up but did not have an auger that would remove the blockage. Friday-Industrial
strength auger showed up. Plumber determined that the line was full of roots and the best solution was to replace the clay pipe all the way to the city line. I agreed on the premise that 5 oak leaf hydrangeas would
not be affected. Ron told me that the hydrangeas were not in the way. I was not shown the footage of the blockage and tree roots.
Friday night my dog fell into the trench although it was ?secured? with plastic fencing. I rescued the dog since Service Plus did not consider this an Emergency. The temperature was 10 degrees.
Monday was Presidents? Day so the city could not send someone to approve the work before the trench was filled.
Tuesday-2 men showed up at 8 AM to fill the trench. At 1 PM they received an e-mail from their boss that the city would not show up.
Thursday-Received a call from Service Plus that the city had a new computer system and they did not know when the plumbing would be inspected and the trench filled in. I inspected several 3 foot pieces of the clay pipe that had been left on the ground. None of them were clogged with tree roots.
Friday while I was at work the trench was filled. The hydrangeas bushes were damaged, removed, or crushed. The
trench had been opened for a week. There is an elementary school less than 2 blocks from my house and many children live in this neighborhood. If a 14 year old blind, deaf dog can fall in the trench it also posed a hazard to children.
The clean clay pipes and the fact that Service Plus never showed me the video of the blockage make me question if the company uses scare tactics to sell very expensive work. I have also lost one thousand dollars? worth of hydrangeas that Eagle Creek Nursery planted late last summer. I have tried to contact Jeremiah at Service Plus many times. He is always in a meeting or not in his office. Although the women in the call center are very sympathetic I have had not had a conversation with Jeremiah. This company charges premium prices but they do not deliver premium service.
I was a returning customer who had spent thousands of dollars with the company.

I feel bad I cannot remember the service men's names, but the main technician who installed my furnace was extremely nice and very professional. There was a slight hiccup in my existing thermostat (Nest) talking with the new furnace's control board properly (Rheem). The technician said he was staying until it was fixed - he was very diligent in making sure I wasn't left without heat in the winter. He got everything working and I was very pleased.
A second technician took care of the whole house humidifier, Not much to it, he was in and out pretty quick.
I really liked the plumber that did the plumbing inspection. He was very knowledgeable of the work he was doing and was very well at communicating his findings in a manner that a non-plumber can understand.
The hiccup I had was with the communication in getting quotes. I either called them or they called me approximately 7 times before I actually got the quote I wanted and all the info. I am cutting them some slack because the furnace was being replaced in a house I was buying as part of a condition from the inspection (the heat exchanger was cracked), so there was confusion when I would call asking about a quote for a house I didn't actually own yet because the address was in their system under the previous owners name - hopefully that makes sense. Again, I am cutting them some slack on that since it is an abnormality to have that situation, and once we got that squared away every person I interfaced was extremely nice and helpful.
I will definitely use Service Plus again.

The technician explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it. I had trouble understanding what he was talking about, but just wanted my toilet fixed & signed everything to get him to fix it. I called the next day and then again today when I didn't hear back from his boss. His boss was pretty rude and said there was no way he could send me a detailed invoice explaining every charge. He said they do not charge by an hourly rate and that it's the same no matter what, but that all the extra costs came to protect the company, the technician, and the truck. I could have gone to Menards which is 2 minutes from my house and gotten a toilet for the technician to install, but he insisted they were able to get the best deal and that he could get it from their warehouse. It took him an hour to go get this and come back when their location is only 5-10 minutes from me. I learned from his boss today that he had to go to Broadripple to get the toilet as it wasn't in stock at the warehouse in Fishers...I was never informed of this. That really doesn't matter though as his boss informed me that this had nothing to do with the price. I cannot for the life of me figure out why I was charged so much. The technicians boss tried to explain that it all had to do with protecting the company, truck, and technician and the cost was so high because of this, but that makes absolutely no sense to me. He said he'd contact me on Monday with an invoice, but that it would only show the total cost and what they did. I want to see an itemized invoice, but he said that's not possible. I did sign several things on an IPad before he completed the work and agreed to financing this, but I'm hoping I can get this changed and not have to pay $1,000 as that's just ridiculous to pay to replace 1 toilet.
