Description of Work: They diagnosed a leak in the water line leading to my home. Quoted me $4300 to repair. Had a second opinion and found that there was no leak at all. Felt like they tried to sell me on something that was not broken.

Description of Work: Purchased the annual service. The technician cleaned and inspected the furnace, replaced filter, tested the humidifier and added a water treatment device to the humidifier. Recommended replacing the igniter as it was pretty worn so I prepaid for that part to be replaced. It should be in within a couple of weeks. The test will be if they call me to get in installed or if I have to call them. I will say the tech was very knowledgeable professional and polite. He gave lots of advice about how to property maintain the equipment and some energy saving recommendations as well. He was able to give me on the spot quotes for adding an air filter to my HVAC system and duct cleaning. All in all I am very satisfied with the service.

Description of Work: drained water heater. did inspection of plumbing throughout house. checked water softner which had not been turned on since we moved in 18 mos ago. said water softener was not working bc shut off so long but suggested leaving it on for awhile bc sometimes old softeners will work their way loose and it did happen just as he suggested.

Description of Work: Fall furnace tuneup. All went fine. The "C' for punctuality was because they couldn't make it the first time the work was scheduled. I took time off work to be home, but the technician was delayed several times and then canceled, so the work was rescheduled to Sept.22nd.

Description of Work: My AC was not working. It turns out that the main problem was a poorly designed system in the crawl space. Multiple hoses, several disconnected and about 2 feet of water under the house. In addition, the drain line on the unit in the house was going uphill and not draining so the water was backing up and going into the crawl space. | |The experience with Service Plus as great. The service rep arrived on time and gave me lots of options. They not only fixed the problems, but I decided to upgrade to a more efficient AC system to save money. They took 2 days to do everything. The problems were fixed, and, in addition, my utility bills have significantly dropped. | |I will definitely use Service Plus again.

Description of Work: Needed piping added to connect a new water softener to my existing water heater. Mr. Pruitt quoted me $1528 to do the job. He even showed me their book, to "prove" to me that this was just a standard industry charge for the job. And I paid the $40 for him to come out and tell me this. I declined to pursue and made some calls to other companies. I got the job done by a handyman for one third the Service Master "standard industry" cost. Although Mr. Pruitt was polite, I am still flabbergasted by the difference in price. It definitely pays to shop around.

Description of Work: The service technician was very, very nice. HOWEVER, he did not drain/flush my water heater because he said that it was too old. (Actually, my water heater will be 10 years old in December of this year.) He stated that with any water heater 10 years old or over, they could not guarantee that the water heater would not begin to leak. I did not see this information anywhere before I purchased the service. Again, the technician was very nice, tested my water (which he said was hard, which I could have told him), and even offered to put on a new toilet seat that I had just purchased but had yet to put on. I declined. I was disappointed that I paid for a service I was unable to use. This should have been clearly stated somewhere. AGAIN . . . the technician was extremely nice and polite. This was not his fault.

Description of Work: Bought the 49 drain clearing deal since I was having an issue with a stopped kitchen sink drain which I had been working on for some time with a hand auger but I determined the clog was in a 6" pipe which was too large for me to affect with the tiny auger I had. I had cleanout caps open and pointed to where the clog was and was told that the coupon was not for a "horizontal" drain so I printed the coupon offer from email which stated any drain or mainline. He said he was going to go ahead and do it anyway so why say anything at all? I am guessing that if a customer was made to believe he was getting a favor outside the coupon terms that he might be more likely to tip. I made it clear that should not be an issue on future jobs unless the terms of the coupon are changed. After that all went perfectly, drain was quickly cleaned and clog was right where I thought.

Description of Work: The technician did a good job of flushing my Water Heater. I would not use them in the future because they price service based on a pre-determined price for the general category of repair, plus parts, not on the amount of time it took, plus parts. My experience with this type of pricing is that the customer gets overcharged.
