Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

The service was fine and they cleared the lines. They were in and out quickly.

It would have worked out fine if our furnace had not died unexpectedly. We didn't use Service Plus Heating and Cooling because we didn't want to spend $9,400 on a new furnace and some duct work. We felt like they were trying to fleece us because we had no furnace and two small children who needed to stay warm. They gave us five options for a repair and that was the most expensive. We are probably not likely to use them again, knowing that they are so aggressive with their estimates. We wound up having the furnace replaced for about $3,300 or nearly 1/3 their top estimate.

The service turned out well. They came out and did a nice job. They were prompt and were very open about their service. They told us their prices upfront. I had no complaints with them at all.

Called and left message with call center. They assured us after 3 calls that someone would call back. That was 11:30pm. At 2:00am, we ended up calling Airtron Heating, who actually called right back. Here we are almost a whole day after and we still haven't received even a call. So much for 24 hour emergency service.

I wish I could leave a more detailed review, but I figured something is better than nothing. We only call Service Plus for all of our HVAC/Plumbing problems. They're always fast, friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to put up with my barrage of questions. This time, they came out and replaced our water heater and redid some duct work for us. The job actually ended up being a couple hundred dollars less than quoted, which was just great right after the holidays.

He gave me a price both for fixing and for replacing the unit. I opted for the latter because what he told me made sense. At no time did I feel pressured; he simply presented me with options and let me make my own decision. I have been very pleased with the new furnace and feel it was the right decision to make.

The following day I contacted Service Plus again about loud noise when I flushed toilet. Another worker came out and made an adjustment that corrected the problem.

They are going to replace my hot water heater and run a new water line. We are still in the process of getting the work done due to the weather. They have been up front about everything and communicated with me about when the work will be completed.

The first day, Service Plus tried using a snake to clear the clog, but it didn't work. The next day, they came out with a camera to look inside the line. Line was partially collapsed and clogged in several places. Poor grade pipe had been used in the past. Service Plus brought in a back hoe, dug two holes and ran new line. Dirt is currently in big piles where the holes were dug. Provider plans to come back in the spring to finish off the dirt piles and replace sidewalk that was dug up. At first I thought the bid was a little pricey, but it took them 3 days to clear everything and install the new line in single digit temperatures while not exposing the water line.

My experience went well. The staff was professional and did exactly what they said they would. I was pleased with the outcome of the service and I would recommend this company to others.

It was fine. We thought was it still a bit pricey but the services was really good. I think they charged us like a couple hundred dollars just to cut in to the wall. It just seem high.

They scheduled me for 8 am the day after I called them. They called to let me know they were coming and arrived on time. Brandon was very polite, professional, and he explained everything in great detail. I was very comfortable having him in our home and trusted his experience and his work. I would deffinitely use them again if I ever had a need!

The service was fine, their equipment didn't work, they didn't really identify the problem that I had, because there was a malfunction in the equipment.

SPHPC performed leak test and found leak at easily accessible servi8ce valve. Price quoted to repair and add new Freon was so exorbitant that it made sense to investigate replace of entire A/C and Furnace system at 19 years old. Was quoted a system that was not really what I was looking for and requested updates. Very slow to respond and I found myself having to spend too much time researching answers which should have been made available to me by SPHPC.. I then decided to have other Indianapolis business quote (higher grade) systems that I was looking for and found that the other companies were much more responsive and price competitive. I ended up purchasing a system with one of them. SPHPC never called to even follow up on the quote they submitted me. I would not recommend. Felt "deal" was a gimmick to get in and then lock me into a repair or system that was higher in price than competition.

I'll lead off with Devin Neal is the man. If you want a straight shooter and an overall nice guy, ask for him (that is if you can request people). My heat stopped working on Sunday morning. I called Service Plus based off of a recommendation from Angie's List. Talked to the dispatcher about someone coming out and looking at it. After getting off the phone with the dispatcher is was only 10 mins until Devin gave me a call and told me he'd be on his way soon. He made a wrong turn which made him later than expected which is why I had to give B on punctuality. He showed up and was really nice through out the process. After he disassembled my entire furnace, it was discovered that I had a cracked heat exchange which basically meant that my furnace was a giant paper weight and that I needed a new furnace. Devin walked me through the prices and options that I had. I gave a B for pricing because the price might be fair, but I don't know. I trusted the price given based off of Devin and the company but still $2600 is a lot of money. Devin wished he could have installed it Sunday but he had other calls to make and I understood. He lined something up for the next morning. He showed up Monday morning with another worker and started getting to work. He didn't complain about it being freezing outside. Cleaned up after he was done with his work. Kept me in the loop when I asked questions. Extremely pleased with Devin and Service Plus. The process was easy and quick and would recommend Devin and this company to other people.

I had a backed up main line going into my septic tank and called at 6:30am on Monday morning to schedule for service. I believe I had called before normal business hours so I was routed to a call answering service. They took my name, phone, address, etc and a brief description of the problem and said an on-call technician would call me back. I never received a call back. Fortunately I had called a 2nd business who was able to come the same morning and complete the work. Not impressed with no response at all.

Our first transaction was not great but I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as they cited employee turnover as the reason for the issues in August 2013. In July 2013, we called toget an estimate for a new AC unit as we new our old unit would need to be replaced soon. We were provided a written quote for the AC unit and the water heater; however, upon scheduling the service we were informed that the technician who came out had actually misquoted the price and that it would cost more for the AC unit and water heater chosen. After much discussion they agreed to honor the price but we ended up with a 40 gallon water heater rather than the 50 gallon agreed to and noted on the written quote provided in July. I have also been told by a friend that the AC unit is a lower SEER than what is listed on the paperwork and agreed upon. I have been unable to get the model number to verify this though. When we called this morning we were told someone would be out mid to late morning; however, after several calls, someone was able to come out at 4pm - ish. We were quoted $550 to replace the pipe for the slow leak and to turn the gas pipe to the oven. I am not sure if this is a good price or not but I was shocked as I thought they would just solder the joint where it is leaking but have been told that they are no longer able to do that. I thought charging $200 to turn the gas pipe to the oven was a bit much as it needs to be turned about 10 degrees so that we can push the oven up against the wall. We were told that the cost was such due to them needing to turn off the gas. As far as the puddling water on the floor, I asked if it could be from the water softener tubing and the techs said it was possible and attempted to regenerate the unit to check. In the end they placed a zip tie on the tube to make sure it stayed in the floor drain. Fingers crossed that this is the answer. The question above asks if I would use the provider again. Unfortunately you can only choose yes or no. I like to think that people have their "off" days and that perhaps the next experience will be better; however, given the fact that there was so much confusion with the paperwork the first time and communication issues this time gives me pause.

Dave Miller showed up very promptly at 8 am. He was professional and courteous. We didn't feel like his goal was to "sell us something" which we often felt from our previous provider. Dave checked our system and did a carbon monoxide check and assured us that everything was good and the reason for the "dirty appearing" filter was due to the fact that they were allergy filters and this is common for them to do this due to moisture. The service call was $79 and we decided to pay an additional $20 to get the annual contract for spring and fall checks. (Plumbing check annually as well.)

The company was prompt and professional. They were honest about what my unit needed and didn't try to overcharge me or purchase unnecessary services. They are a family owned company. The work very hard and are extremely accommodating. They explained everything to us every step of way.
