Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

The plumber was very friendly, easy going, and they made sure that our pets stayed in the house while they were coming in and out which was very courteous of them. They got the job done in less than an hour. The scheduling was really easy.

Technician arrived on time, was very thorough and explained several things throughout the inspection.

On Wednesday, May 7, I contacted Service Plus, whom I had used several times in the past, about a leak under my kitchen sink. An appointment was made for Friday, the 9th, between 1-5 p.m. The service person was to give me a call 20-30 minutes before arrival. At 3:30 p.m., I had not heard anything so I called the office just to be sure I was on the schedule. I was told I was, & it was repeated that the service person would give me a call before arrival. At 4:45, still having heard nothing, I called again. The woman with whom I spoke assured me that I was the next customer on the service person's list, & that he would call. At 5:45 still no call, no show. I called the office again, & was told the same information. In addition, this woman told me she would have the owner call me on Monday to see if there was anything he could do to make this situation better for me. At 6:45, nothing had changed. This time when my husband called, he asked that they (the answering/on call system was now in effect) contact the service person & let us know if he didn't intend to come at all, & if he did, when. By this time, of course, I had not only wasted the entire afternoon waiting for a repairman, but also the evening. Instead of going out to eat, we brought something in. The repairman did eventually call to say he would be at our home in about 30 minutes. His arrival was about 7:45 to 8 p.m., but by that time, not having heard from anyone, my husband tried to fix the leak himself. He did so successfully. I tried to reach the repairman (caller ID) to let him know so he wouldn't make an unnecessary trip, but only got his voice mail. I did leave him a message, but apparently he didn't check it. As for the owner/manager, it is now Thursday, the 15th, & I have not received one call. I hope the repairman will not take the brunt of this review. I appreciate that they don't know what they will run into on each scheduled call. Apparently his were long, but surely a good business would have some type of backup to help a repairman if his schedule means he won't get to a customers home almost 3 hours after he was scheduled. Service Plus apparently did nothing to help their repairman or me, their customer since 2010. Nor do they seem to care.

This company does a great job! They are easy to work with and respond promptly to inquiries and service calls. We've hired them to do our regular maintenance, and we've been very happy with them.

It was great. It was a couple of years ago but it was great. They came out shortly after I purchased the deal and I didn't spend anything extra. They gave me a a new outside faucet for my garden hose. From what I got I thought this was a good deal.

Ryan, the Service Plus contractor, was prompt, professional, and courteous. He showed up on time after calling to let us know he was on his way; presented two reasonable options to deal with our broken garbage disposal; communicated those options clearly; and performed the work (replacing the garbage disposal) in a timely manner. He cleaned up after himself and was friendly and patient throughout the entire process. The price was fair and the work was done well. We definitely will contact Service Plus for any other plumbing needs. Highly recommended!

I always use them. I was pleased with the price. The night we were without heat in the winter, we called them and they came out the next morning and installed my furnace. That's how quick it was. They did exactly what they said they would do. They did a lot of things in my home. They were so knowledgeable, it was amazing. They are the ones calling me telling me I need a tune up. They found the problem in the A/C during the furnace tune up and got everything done in two hours. I will use them again.

Provided was pleasant, knowledgeable and honest. Bought the service plan - seemed like a good deal.

I did not use them for the service as their estimate was extremely high. The serviceman told me my furnace would not last till winter and now we have the same furnace two years later.

We needed a sump pump installed quickly before going on vacation. I had planned to just replace the float switch on my own (~$30 for parts + 30 to 60 minutes), since this is the only part of the pump that seems to die. Unfortunately I had to bail on doing it myself, since my back was acting up. Service Plus gave me estimates for both 1) the repair that I had planned to do with a 1-year warranty and 2) the installation of a new pump with a 3-year warranty. The difference was ~$350-ish vs. ~$650-ish. The choices weren't great. I chose a new pump. I priced new pumps also and they were only about $130. I know most places usually charge at least 50% markup but if you doubled that @ 260 and added 150 for labor it seems that the installed total should have been a lot less. Also this was not an emergency appointment, so there was no extra charge to make up the difference. Although the installation went well and they did good work, the price seemed excessive, since they had the pump on their truck and the install only took them about 30-minutes.

Unfortunately, the provider's scope camera tool was not working properly, so he had to come back on a second day to further investigate what was going on with my sewer line beyond just needing to be cleaned. This was inconvenient but necessary. During the second visit, the pictures from the camera were fuzzy but he said they showed that the clay tile was breaking and causing the pipe to become unaligned at the various connection points, which causing blockage and backup. He informed me that the the pipe would have to be replaced. We talked about different options given the location of the plumbing stack in my basement, the proximity of my neighbors house, and other factors. His recommendation was to use a pipe burst method to break up what remained of the original pipe and then run a new PVC pipe from the stack inside the house to the point where my pipe meets the city sewer line. We also talked about the possibility of replacing all the cast iron and galvanized piping inside my basement. He produced an estimate $8,500 for the pipe burst approach to the replacement of the sewer line and about $3,000 for the optional replacement of the old piping with PVC or other material. I obtained a second opinion from another local contractor as well as a relative who is in the business and decided to go with another company, mostly because I became skeptical of the pipe burst method. The company I ended up working with on the project used a different approach but matched this company's quote, so I assume the quote was in line with the norms for such work. Even though I didn't end up using this company for my major project, I would not hesitate to call them again for plumbing work if necessary. The only thing I did not care for, which is why I ranked "B" in professionalism, is that when the service rep came from his truck, he smelled like he had been smoking, including when he came back in after being in the truck to work on the estimate. Some people wouldn't be bothered by this. I was, especially when it happened in the midst of my appointment.

It was excellent and I would not hesitate to use them again. They got the job done in about 14 hours. They were very accommodating. They knew we were leaving and they went above and beyond for us. They sent 3 people out to do the job. The cleanup was very good and they cleaned up more than the mess they made.

It was fine. They were out within maybe a week after I purchased the big deal and there were no extra charges after they came out. They came out and did the service and that was it. What stood out to me the most about them was probably their response time because that was during the season when everybody was trying to get their furnaces maintained and they were out I think within a week which is a good response to me.

The service was good. They ended up replacing our furnace for us. They were very quick to respond, courteous and provided fast service. They were also very reasonably priced

My experience went well. They were easy to contact in off hours. They damaged the floor on accident when installing the water heater and they were very quick to follow up to that and gave us money to fix the damage. Dean is great to work.

The initial plumber snaked my kitchen drain twice without any real success. The drain was still very slow. He recommended sulfuric acid to clear it - no success. Not happy with the first visit. I called about the drain still not functioning - to their credit, a different plumber came out and was able to snake the drain again, the right way this time and the drain has been fine since. No charge for the second visit, so I was happy in the end. The $232 also included a service contract.

The initiate inspection by company rep said problem was full septic tank and charged $79.00 for 10 minutes of work. The septic tank was emptied by another company but did not solve the problem as determined by Service Plus. Called Service Plus back to explain the misidentified problem. Rep from SP determined a clogged drain and completed the drain line work. Work was completed in under 1 hour but charged $542. I was forced to have this work done immediately due to health condition (Alzheimer's) of my 90 year old father/resident and I could not argue the charge at the time but I considered the charge to be excessive and contacted the company owner (Chris Cunningham) to ask for a partial refund. I have not heard back from the company after 10 days so I assume a negotiated settlement is out of the question. Total cost of this experience of $621 for 1.5 hour work. BEWARE of this company

The technician was very professional. Showed up on time and left things neat. We thought both spigots needed replaced but in fact he was able to save us money by repairing one.
