The technician arrived on time and did a thorough inspection and cleaning of our unit including a thorough cleaning of our outer coils. Then he came in and gave us a complete review of the condition of our unit.

Switch on sump pump has failed, so needs to be replaced. Austin told me they would install a 1/4 HP pump - same as I had. On the estimate, it said 1/3 HP pump, and he didn't catch the discrepancy until I pointed it out to him. I lost a bit of faith in him at that point. I was able to use a $100 coupon, which saved me more money than doing the 1-year service plan and using the discounted service. I would not recommend buying a discounted deal ahead of time from Angie's List - there was a deal for a $40 service call (which is normally $79.99), but then I would have paid full price for the repair. If you purchase the service plan you cannot use a coupon.

They did a good job replacing the A/C.. But a couple of things were put back wrong and when the furnace tried to work, it couldn't. Had to call the installer of the furnace to figure out the problems.

I was told they'd have someone out on friday (When I called thursday evening). Guy finally arrived on saturday around 3pm. Tech was very nice, did the due diligence and got me back up and running. The repair was a little overpriced for the late response, but I needed my AC back up and running, so I payed it. He let me know that I would need a new furnace within a year or so (15 year old unit), and their pricing was pretty high compared to other competitors.

We called several locations and this company was the only one who could come same day, which was a 90 degree day, and boy did we PAY for it. Our a/c unit was out and when the tech arrived I told him I believed the capacitor was bad, he did some basic checks and said yep your right, he replaced the broken capacitor which took about twenty minutes. The total charges were $489.00, I asked David if he could break down the charges and he said we don't breakdown our charges After the repair was completed and talking with others we started calling and getting quotes and everyone else said it would be around $200 for the part and service call. We also looked online and found the part at the highest to be around $30.00. We contacted Service Plus to discuss the displeasure of finding out they were double what most other places were the lady offered a free maintenance plan ( 1 a/c , 1 furnace and 1 plumbing visit). Told had a 1 year warranty on part as well. Declined stating I would not use them again if they are that much more than others. Asked if she could have a Service manager call before we left negative feedback anywhere (had told them I would) and was told a Service Manager would call back, and it would probably be tomorrow since I was getting late in the day (it was 2:30-2:45). No call at all on the day neither of service, nor today as promised. Finally around 4ish I called back to talk to them before they left for the day. Basically she acted like I was an idiot and didn?t understand who all they had to pay and what they paid them. Explained that their prices reflect paying the tech, the vans, the parts, the back office girls, the benefits which include health, dental, 401k, ect?. She advised me that the warranty had a lifetime guarantee and anytime it went bad they would replace for free. All information has been conflicting from their end, and I don?t know who to believe as they all say a different thing, including the fact that she then offered to charge me $99.00 for the maintenance plan that the girl the day before was going to give me for free. I said no thanks and ended the call. This company way overcharges and treats their customers like we are idiots. NEVER WILL USE THEM AGAIN

They had a book of pre-determined prices for every kind of service. Most all of the services we needed were too expensive to be covered by the Big Deal coupon. After searching the book, we found one service that could be provided: repairing a dripping faucet in the bathroom. It did not go well. He didn't have the correct part for the sink. He went to Lowe's to buy one. He returned with a similar, but not exact part. He re-installed the faucet and it leaked worse than before he took it apart.

Technician was cleaned and even smelled good. :) He was very polite, professional and showed me what he was doing and educated me on some things we could look for to prevent problems. We were happy with the service.

Our A/C condensing unit stopped working last night. The fan will still running and the thermostat was operating properly, so I assumed it was the run capacitor on the A/C. There was an Angie's List coupon for a $40 service call so I chose Service Plus because my normal HVAC guy was on vacation. The people on the phone were courteous and the technician that showed up was very nice, clean cut, and professional. However, when he confirmed it was the run capacitor he quoted me just over $400 for the part. I laughed, and showed him my laptop with an HVAC supply site already up that had the capacitor for $39. Then he said since I know what I'm talking about he could sell me the capacitor for $129 but I would have to pay full price for the service call ($79 instead of the $40 service call deal I purchased on Angie's List). I walked inside, called Duncan Supply downtown, and they had the capacitor for < $10. Took 10 minutes to get there and < 5 minutes to install. I recognize that service providers have markup on parts as a convenience fee. And it would have been worth the convenience for me to pay more to avoid a trip downtown, but marking up a part 40X seems close to criminal - especially given that they marked it down because I knew what I was talking about. I'm sure many unassuming customers are paying $400 for this very minor repair (it's a maintenance part that typically lasts 3-5 years). I know the HVAC industry has many providers that operate this way, but enough is enough. Based on their professionalism and quick response, I would have gladly paid $60 for the capacitor on top of the $40 service call (which would have been a 6x markup on the part). $100 for 15 minutes of work and < $10 in parts would have been fair - and I would have left a very positive review.

Overall, my experience went well. I was satisfied with the work. There were no issues with scheduling an appointment.

Provider performed an overall inspection of my HVAC system. Provider confirmed that the issues with cooling and dehumidification are due to an inadequately sized unit for my home. The tech was thorough and professional and I have a service contract for maintenance on my system with them now.

Called Service Plus, which I've used several times before. I have really liked their customer service and thorough work. The plumber arrived, spent a small amount of time talking to me, and went to work. He provided a status report midway through the process. He then told me that he was unable to clear the drain. I was surprised because Service Plus has never been unable to clear the drain, and the last time I used them was around November of last year. He said there was a large amount of oil in the drain and it needs to be cleared with a pressure hose. I asked about cleaning the main drain which the Big Deal could have also been used for. The plumber said it would not matter and made a comment about doing everything he could, especially for the price. He cleaned up and left.

They gave great recommendations on how to fix the sink and were helpful with a runny toilet that didn't need anything fixed. I would definitely hire them again.

Our original communication was fine. Plumber arrived May 13th, but was unable to do the original service due to the original drain because of the shape of the drain. We have an older house. Rather then cancel the deal the plumber said he would clear a drain in our kitchen, we were very appreciative as that drain badly needed clearing. Unfortunately he did not have the proper tool. He said he would contact his office and set up a new appointment for us to have that done. It wouldn't necessarily be done by him. We agreed and he gave us his card. By late afternoon of the next day we hadn't heard from anyone. We used the number on the plumbers card to call him. He answered and said he was sorry he had not gotten to that and would do so and someone from the office would call us. My husband offered to call the office directly, but the plumber said no he would take care of it. After not hearing anything for another 24 hours we did call the office directly. The person we spoke with said she knew nothing about this situation or setting up an appointment for us. She said she would speak directly with the plumber and get back to us. We still did not receive any contact from anyone. We waited until the next afternoon and called them again. The person we spoke with still didn't know about our situation and said she would speak with someone who did and let us know. That was on Friday the 16th. By Tuesday afternoon the 20th we still hadn't heard anything. I called the office that afternoon, the 20th, and told the lady what all had taken place and that we didn't want to go any further with them as we did not feel comfortable to depend on them. It seemed to us we would not be in a trustworthy situation if we continued with them. The lady I spoke with was very courteous and apologetic and said she would see to it it was all taken care of, but after our experience with them we didn't feel it was in our best interest to depend on them. I told her I had read their reviews on Angie's list and they were almost all good and that's why we chose them. But even so nothing is perfect and someone can fall through the cracks, and we were the ones to do so. I don't know how or why this situation happened, but we have to have a trustworthy relationship and be able to depend on them to call when they say they will call and that is why we are asking for our money to be returned. This was our first time to use Angie's list and We were disappointed to have it turn out this way.

The serviceman who came out was punctual and courteous. He was able to describe in good detail the various issues he was seeing on the camera video. He was able to provide me with a video recording of the inspection on a flash drive that I provided him. He also provided me with estimates on the repair work needed and worked out some options that could [potentially cut the cost by several thousand dollars. I chose not to proceed with repairs because the sewer line was still in usable condition, and the repairs were not urgently needed, but it was good to have the information on how much it might cost. The service call and video inspection were covered under the $99 1-yr service contract that I bought from them. My only negative comment is a minor one. The serviceman forgot to bring a rag to wipe down the video cable while pulling it back out of the sewer line, so I needed to provide paper towels and a plastic bag for him to use. He had also never made a video recording using the inspection machine, so there were a few minor issues with the video recording due to the trial-and-error process.

The sewer line was draining extremely slowly and backing up. The 1st tech was good, friendly, and the service did not take too long. Some roots were cleared out of the drain. I called about 10 days later because the sewer line backed up again, and at first they were not going to send anyone out without another fee because the work was not warrantied. I also was calling to schedule a camera inspection, so then they decided to send someone out to check the line again before scheduling the camera inspection. The 2nd tech had a lot more experience than the 1st. He was able to run the camera, found more roots and cleared a few out. He also explained the best way to solve the perpetual problem, gave me an estimate for having the sewer line replaced. He was very knowledgeable and easy to understand. He did not charge me for the service, as the camera inspection charge was covered in the cost of the 1st service call. I paid $49 total by using an Angie's List coupon.

Scheduling was fine. Again, they wore booties and he took care of the issue in a timely manner.

Came prepared to put on shoe covers when he arrived. I always appreciate this as we remove our shoes before entering our home. The person was very knowledgeable of the questions I asked about the unit. Cleaned out the leaves inside and around the unit. Was very professional and will definitely call Service Plus if we have any problems with the unit in the future.

Even though we hadn't had any problems, I decided to take them up on their Big Deal offer to get an assessment of the sewer line condition. It was a two step procedure. On June the 2nd, the technician Austin did the clean out. He was very courteous and professional. He explained what he was doing, and that they did the cleaning first before the camera check. He stated that another technician would be back to do the camera check. We set up an appointment for June 9th. Ronnie Snelbaker came to perform the camera check. He was also very courteous and professional. He explained what he was doing, and had me watch the monitor and he fed the camera through the sewer line.

It went very well. From the time we called to inform them we needed a plumber or someone to look at the water leak, 4.5 hours later we had a brand new water heater and hot water through out the house. He was very professional and kept us informed as to what was going on through out the process. He even had us double check the floors, stairs and utility closet to ensure he had cleaned up all the areas prior to him leaving.

I had been considering a new sump pump backup system for about a year and got some estimates. We went with Service Plus, not because they were the cheapest but because they had the longest warranties and good products. They sent out a plumber the day that we called, knowing that we were going out of town in a couple of days, even though it was after hours before they could get there. No charge for weekends and after hours! Plumber did a thorough evaluation of our old system (which had developed a warning chirp) and said it was still functioning but needed a new little battery. We decided to go with a whole new system due to the age of our existing one. The plumber was professional, arrived when he said he would, and went over the entire process from evaluation to charges. He had the new system installed quickly.

It was a very good experience. I have since kept using them for my HVAC needs. They are very reliable and they show up on time. The employees have all been very knowledgeable and professional. They are very clean.
