Service Plus Heating Cooling Plumbing

Woke up to no hot water on a Saturday of a holiday weekend. Called Service Plus because I used them for my a/c service and liked their response time and tech. Brian Ebersole responded to my call today. He was pleasant, concerned for the unexpected cost and helpful. He did not have the size tank I needed on his truck, so he made several calls to get one for me so the problem could be resolved same day as opposed to waiting until Tuesday for the supplier to be open. or incurring additional fees for having to request the supplier to open on a weekend. He was quick, efficient and easy to work with.

Dan was the plumber who came out to service our clogged drain. He was extremely responsive throughout the entire day. Very friendly and knowledgeable! We had scheduled for 6, and he had an appt cancel so he even called a few hours before 6 to see if we wanted him earlier. We kept our 6 PM schedule as my wife and I both would not be home until then. He came that evening, on time and stayed for 2 hours. We found that our drain problem was much more complicated than I was hoping. Unfortunately, the drains are still slow (NOT Dan's fault). He tried everything he could. He removed a lot of stuff from our drains, but he believes the problem lies in the pipes under the ground. Maybe a tree root or something is keeping the water from draining. He suggested cutting into the pipes in the basement which go outside, to see what's in there and possibly get a camera through the pipes. This would require more money, so my wife and I are holding off for now and getting back in touch with the Dan in the near future. ***I know nothing about the pricing for plumbers (first time home buyer here!). The price seemed reasonable after reading reviews for other plumbers.

Service Plus quoted an extremely high price to replace the unit. We used a different plumber to put in the new water heater and they were $700 cheaper. I called 6 plumbers about replacing the unit and Service Plus was higher than all of them. Service Plus' price was fine for the service call but they are WAY overpriced for purchasing new units.

The service went well. We had a water stain in the ceiling. They pretty much just evaluated what was going on, but they were unable to make any repairs. One technician came out and completed the service in about 30-45 minutes. I appreciated his honesty as far as letting us know that he would not be able to do the service. He did not try to up sell us. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

After putting what was probably too much down the garbage disposal at once, the drain clogged and we were left with standing water in the sink. We called Service Plus because we have a service account with them for our new furnace and A/C. Even though it was after hours, their call service contacted an after hours serviceman. Steven Tarry contact me several minutes later, and walked me through a quick fix he said could save me the $79 service call. I tried it, and when it didn't work we arranged for him to come take a look at the problem. I was concerned there would be an extra fee for the after hours call, but Steven assured me that there was no extra charge. He was several hours away at the time, and let me know he would arrive around 9. He actually arrived around 8:30, so very impressed with the prompt service. Steven then attempted to snake the drain, but unfortunately the problem was worse than that, and would require more work. Steven informed me of several options: either using a high-pressure device to force the clog out, or disconnect the drain pipe from the main drain and clear the clog manually. Manually clearing the clog was much less expensive, so I went that route, even though it might mean water in the crawl space. Steven was able to clear out the clog without a minimal mess in the crawl space, unfortunately the same could not be said for his clothes! He got sprayed down with some pretty gross water, but stayed very professional the entire time. In the end the entire process took around an hour. While I feel $412 is quite a bit for an hour of work, it was all based on their standard service fees, so I can't really complain too much. And in reality, it was worth it to not have to get sprayed down like Steven did. But because of his hard work and good sense of humor about the situation I would definitely recommend Service Plus to my friends and family, or anyone else who needs a good plumber.

The quality of work was good, but the communication was lacking. It would be nice to be notified if the appointment is going to be over an hour and a half late. It would have also been nice to have a full explanation of services and reason for cost before work is performed.

My air conditioning unit failed on Sunday 8/24/14. I called at 7:30 PM to see if some one could come out to look over my unit. Lex called me right away and told me that he would be out around 9:30-10 PM. He called me when he was on his way and showed up at around 10 PM. He looked over my unit and gave me a few options. I had a leak and he could not guarantee me how long a recharge would last. I had a unit that was 14 yrs old and the Freon used was the R22 which is no longer being mfg. He gave me the option of recharge and finding the leak, as well as the cost of a new unit. The cost to go to a new unit was a no brainer. It made sense. I had to get financing and he was able to do that through Wells Fargo right their on his phone and got me 12 months no interest. I asked if he could install it the next day. He stated he would. He went and measured my duct work and left my home around midnight. Thats dedication. The next morning his techs were there at 9:30 AM and they finished the job at 2:30 PM. I called another reputable air and heating company prior to Service Plus and they told me that they would get someone out by Monday from 12 noon to 5:30PM. I would still be waiting for him and still had no working air. I am glad I looked up on Angie list and got Service Plus.

Called at 515am, returned call by 530a, had someone to my house by 730am. Fantastic response time. Professional repairman. My complaint is with how they price. With Angie's List deal, I had a service call for $40, instead of regular $79 price. My bill was still $449. I needed the AC running that morning by 10am as I had a showing on my house, so had to take whatever the deal was. After he left, I found part is $20 online, so I basically paid $400 to buy the part and have it installed (which took less than an hour). That is crazy. I called service manager to complain and was told that is the cost for that service (which did include cleaning coil, checking temps, checking freon level, etc). They do not break out their labor and parts on invoice and that was my issue, but I didn't have a choice in getting the service done, so I paid it.

They were on time, they came very quickly and they explained everything

A guy came to my house to fix my water heater the same day because as they are open upto 11 pm. I was very pleased with their service. The guy that came in was very helpful in showing me the problem and he had the water heater fixed in no time. I was worried for about 2 days but they really were the best.

Steven was an incredibly helpful servicer. He explained our problem, explained our options, and went the extra mile to help us figure out a solution for our budget. Definitely recommend.

Could not clear the clog completely. I called them after a few days of service that the drain is still clogged. The lady informed that she will send someone the next day. Next day never came- so I got it fixed from another company.

They were scheduled to work on the garage drain. They found the water heater would have to be moved to get to the clean-out. We agreed that since the W H was 11 years old they should replace it. A second tech was called to help. By coincidence the bathroom drain broke loose an hour before they were scheduled. Dan was able to reconfigure the sink base so it would fit the new drain. We were pleased all this could be accomplished in one day with one appointment. We have a amber finish glass bowl sink. It was scratched in the process. A called the office the next day asking for someone with expertise to advise if there was a way to cover the scratch. Ronnie, a supervisor, came and brought before and after pictures Dan had taken of the sink. He came in saying the sink was scratched before they worked on it. In looking at the pictures more closely he agreed what he thought were scratches were water marks. I have not heard from him in two days and will not pursue it as there is likely nothing we can do to cover up scratches on the amber finish. Dan asked if we would like a camera inspection of our drain from the garage to the main house sewer and then out to the street. There would not be an additional charge and we agreed as it would be good to know the status of our 30 year old system. The camera found a 'swell' in our main line, the line drops in depth and then rises again to meet the street sewer. The cause is probably a tree root pushing the PICKUP pipe down. The tech said we could have a problem with solids collecting there and stopping up our main drain anytime in the future. We requested an estimate to correct this. In the next 20 minutes with a consult to the office he worked up an estimate; as the cost was over $7,000 we will likely wait until the drain malfunctions.

I had drains backing up and knew immediately that my septic tank was full and needed to be pumped (this has happened before). Of course this happened on a weekend and Service Plus was one of the very few that offered to come out and help after I explained on the phone exactly what I needed done. Booking the appointment was easy and they got the job because they were the first ones to my house. So far so good. When the guy got here, he was very professional and "with it" for it being so late on a weekend. Very impressed with that guy. But he knew right away that they screwed up. He did not bring a truck to pump the septic tank, which I had explained was the issue. He promised to call around for someone first thing Monday, but I know from having this done before that most of these places contract septic pumping jobs out to other contractors for about $100 over what the contractor will do if you contact them directly. Since I explained over the phone that I needed the tank pumped and Service Plus said they would send someone right out, I assumed they were going to send one of their trucks to pump the tank. He apologized for their mistake and did offer to come out after the tank was pumped in case I had any resulting drain leaks and waive the $79 fee they charged me. In the meantime, a business got back to me that actually brings their truck to pump the septic tank and got me taken care of (thanks, Angie's List!). All set, no leaks, fair price. The next day or so a nice lady from Service Plus calls me up and asks how their visit went. I told her it didn't go well because I stayed up late over the weekend to meet their service guy and not only did he not have a truck to pump my tank as I asked, but charged me $79 for work that never needed to be done. The nice lady displayed her limits of nicety as the topic of the $79 came up. I have no problem paying a service fee for a technician to come out to my place way out in the country, even if it ends up there is nothing they can do to fix the issue. I know sometimes someone has to look at the problem to understand the repairs needed. However, in this case I told them exactly what I needed on the phone and not only did they not deliver, they apparently won't refund the service fee. They seemed quite professional (in a customer-facing sense, not in a billing sense), so hopefully we can get this resolved via Angie's List. Thanks for reading.

It went very well. We had a good overall experience with Service Plus. They was punctual, conscientious and completed the task to our satisfaction. Would use their services again and highly recommend them.

He performed a walk-through, he was very polite. I wouldn't hesitate to contact them again if I need a plumber.

The company arrived and used a camera to specifically diagnose the problem. They returned promptly the next morning and corrected the problem. The company was skilled, neat, courteous and polite. The employees name was Ryan and he was super. I spent over 40 years in construction and I was impressed by the work Ryan performed and the excellent customer service from Service Plus. The price was more than fair and I would recommend them to anyone.

I had been having problems with the shower for many years & had not had it fixed due to the cost of an estimate given to me by another company. I have always had a service contract to have my air conditioner & furnace serviced but did not renew with the company I had been with for years because of issues I had with them. Service Plus had been to my home about a year ago for something they were not able to take care of but I liked the personnel & had talked with them at the time of their visit to my home about a service contract. I just happened to call them on 7-31-14 & they just happened to be having a sale on the service contract. I had also received a letter from them in the mail which included a $25 gift card for service which they said I could apply to the service contract. I also discussed the issue with the shower so they sent someone out. He gave me an estimate with 4 potential ways to do the job and we came to an agreement. They did the work on August 7th. The estimate that they had given me included new hot & cold handles but said if I kept the old ones that would lower the cost. I was fine with that as cost was a great concern to me. The shower is not working better than ever & I am so happy I had them do the work.

It was very easy getting in touch to schedule, the gentleman arrived on time, and he did a good job with the cleaning. However, he didn’t have a camera at that time and couldn't perform the video inspection. We've been unable to have that part of the job completed due to some scheduling issues on both our parts.

We went through a long and complex renovation of a 1950s home in Indianapolis and Service Plus handled all of the HVAC and plumbing aspects of the job. The project had a lot of unexpected issues and things didn't always go smoothly but the crew at Service Plus--especially Ronnie, the plumbing supervisor and Chris, the owner, and Curtis, the HVAC tech, were always very responsive and fair. I would definitely work with them again and recommend them to my friends and neighbors in Meridian-Kessler.

They were fine, the coupon just didn't cover the work I needed done.

I joined their service club for the discount and water heater flushes and furnace/ac checks. In general they are fine, but I find them to be overpriced - even with a discount. I'll use them as long as I'm part of their "service club" but will likely try other plumbers following its expiration. I have used them twice subsequent to joining the "club" - once without incident, but about $50 more than comparable service via another reputable plumber, and the second time there was a debacle with their plumber arriving (or trying to arrive) 2 hours early, and then not showing up at the scheduled appointment time. Hassle.

They were not very nice, nor were they very cordial. I would not like to do business with them.

Service Plus came out today and called 30 minutes before arriving. Brian Ebersole was patient and informative. He's a very nice young man and went above and beyond. It's nice to know I have a go-to plumber who I can rely on.
