 + -1 moreWe spoke with Russ and he had Richard come to take a look. Richard was very professional and took care examining the situation. He diagnosed a sewer clog that had cleared itself. He took extra time to check things out and reassure us. We were very pleased, we have used Metzler Plumbing before, and we will continue to use them for our plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Toilet and tub backing up, water dripping from finished basement ceiling at 5 a.m. on a Saturday morning.

Description of Work: Checked 2 outside hose bib's for leaks. Tighted nut on one and checked washer on the other, which had been making a vibrating noise. Found no leaks.

 + -1 moreThe work was done well. The plumber even signed the water heater as the installer and dated it for the warranty. If there is ever any problems his name will be there. I highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: Replaced water heater. This was the labor and upgrade to code only costs. The original water heater, installed by the builder, was under warranty. We also got the extended warranty.

 + 0 moreThey gave us an estimate, but when they got under the house they found a broken pipe- that made it cost more, but it's something they wouldn't know unless they got under there. He estimated it would be a four hour job and even with the unknown broken pipe problem, they still finished on time. They were very clean.

The technician was able to fix the problem by cleaning the part that had failed, saving me about $200. In spite of my call near the close of business on a Friday, I was not charged anything beyond a normal service call.

 + -1 moreThey said our plumbing breakage was as bad as they had seen in 25 years. The first two men who showed up were friendly but did not think to put anything down over our carpet, when Paul showed up to examine our mess he had them put down protective cloth. I am grateful they hooked us up to one bathroom on Friday so we could stay in our house over the week-end. Although it took all day Mon. to reconnect our entire house, I was relieved they could work us in. (It would have been very difficult to get other plumbing estimates over the weekend.) Their pricing was very fair considering they had to work our emergency into their already full schedule.
Description of Work: Our entire household plumbing broke on a Friday morning. Our plumber couldn't make it; he recommended R V Hallum. They came after noon and hooked up one drain line to a bathroom to get us through the weekend. On the following Monday one man re-piped all drainage in basement for the entire house, ran new section of PVC for main drain, reconnected all existing lines, and sewage pump line.

He took the approach that it may be the seals and suggested taking care of that first then doing the other repairs if this turns out not to be the problem. He took the time to evaluate the situation. He was very informative. He did an excellent job and I will definitely use Metzler in the future.
Description of Work: Located source of sewer gas odor. Rubber seals around discharge pipe were not installed properly. Corrected the seals and caulked.

The person (Mike?) came out to my house and spent the amount of time with me to ensure that the project was completed correctly - he didn't even mind that I watched him most of the time so that I could understand what he was doing! He also took the time to look over a toilet issue I had and recommended a quick solution. He also tested the outside water in my house to find out if my spigots were running off of soft or hard water. The only issue I had with them is that it took me awhile to get them to come out. It wasn't that they didn't want to, but their operator (Angie -- very, very nice!) was out with her sick daughter for one week and no one was returning phone calls. This is the ONLY bad impression I had with their company.
Description of Work: Replaced an outside spigot (water bib) on my house. It was leaking.

When we called, a new workman was sent out who worked into Friday evening and then on Saturday to solve the problem. The first workman accidentally punched a hole in the wall, and we were refunded $100.
Description of Work: The drain for my washing machine was clogged. After attempts to clear it failed. They put in a new clean out and completed the job.

 + -1 moreWe were quite pleased with the service. My husband called on Monday morning just after 8 am to schedule an appointment and they were able to come out to our home by 9 am the same day. The man that came was here knocking on the door promptly at 9 and did a great job. They were very professional on the phone and here at our home. We also felt their prices were quite reasonable. We will definitely use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We started experiencing very low hot water pressure throughout the house. We had Hallam's come out and they had to drill out the dielectric union to remove debris. Once this was done, the hot water pressure was back to normal.

He answered my many questions and even explained the entire process as he replaced the wax ring for the upstairs toilet. It was an easy and quick fix, but the piece of mind in having a professional do the job was well worth the price.
