water heater repair
 + -1 moreI had an emergency with a leaking water heater that I discovered only after the laundry room floor was flooded. Metzler has always responded to my emergencies within a matter of a few hours. Their representative came and checked my old water heater, explained why it could not be repaired, and immediately replaced it with a new water heater. He explained everything that I needed to know. Metzler representatives are always so reassuring and comforting and calm, that even though the price is a shock to the system, it is worth it! I highly recommend this company.

Although the pump turned out to be much more difficult and time consuming to access and replace than was contemplated during the estimate, they honored the original price. All work was done well and everything is working fine.

 + -1 morePrompt and speedy scheduling of my job to replace my ancient toilet that continued to run. The job took about three hours longer than anticipated because of the flange work that was uncovered. I'm pleased with the new toilet that doesn't require 15 gallons per flush! Have used Metzler plumbing in the past and will continue to use their service. Don't forget to mention AL for your discount!

 + -1 moreThe gentleman who came was very professional, and explained everything to us. He also looked at the other drain while he was in the crawl space, to make sure that nothing else was wrong. He was on time and was very respectful. I would definitely hire them again.

 + -1 moreI feel completely violated. I had to get the sink replaced due to pending sale of home (closing in 3 days) but $635 to replace one small bathroom sink? I went and bought the sink at Lowe's for $28 and they reused existing faucet. The whole job took maybe 2 hours from start to finish and the plumber even said everything went as good as could be. They charged $314.75 to install sink and $315.36 to re-install faucet. Plus a $30 fee for I don't even know what (showing up I guess) but I would think at the prices they were charging, that would have been included. If I would have had time to shop around, I'm certain I could have saved a lot of money. Friendly and clean but VERY, VERY pricey. I have used them several times before and never was charged like this. I think they knew I had no choice...but I feel completely taken advantage of.

The first set of washing machine replacement hoses did not work, and were not completely tested before the technician left. Replacement hoses were installed after a few phone calls. A price break was given.

To their credit, they did respond quickly to my after hours call for assistance and sent somebody out who fixed it. They did seem a bit pricey. Overall they were very pleasant to deal with.

 + -1 moreI asked a Metzler plumber what they charged to replace a shower, and he said he would have the owner Larry call me, Larry did call and set up an appointment. He sounded friendly and willing to help on the phone. But when he came, I don't know what it was, but he became very uninterested in the job. I don't know if it was because I didn't live in a wealthy neighborhood, or that I was a woman or what, but he looked ready to leave when he arrived. He even asked me for my email address, so he didn't have to "waste" a stamp. I told him I was looking for a competitive price (I mentioned Home Depot). He said he couldn't beat their price, but Metzler had years of experience. Larry never emailed the estimate even after I called for it. He had talked me into paying more for professional work, but it won't be Metzler. I would not call them. Very unprofessional. I have the money to do my entire bathroom, guess he's just not interested in work.

 + -1 moreVery polite, nice young men. Wonderful work ethic. Incredibly responsive (called back within 30 minutes at 11pm the night before and were on the way to address our problem by 8am the next morning). I will use them again and would recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: Ran snake to clear clog in sewage drain outside of our house. Discovered evidence of pipe rupture. Manually removed a large bush in the way, dug a 4-ft deep ditch to reach the broken pipe and repaired it. Meanwhile, they kindly talked me through replacing a wax seal on my toilet that had broken during the blockage (saving me the expense of having them come back later).

 + -1 moreVery prompt and courteous service. Estimate was arranged the very same day that I called. Mark, the actual plumber was very considerate, calling when there was a delay in his return to finish this job, the Pipe he needed to buy had not been cut on time which was certainly not his fault. Only criticism would be needing to put down the dirt myself at end of job over the trench they dug to lay the gas line. Not a big deal in my case, but if working with elderly it might have caused a hardship.
