Description of Work: We knew there was a leak going down into my dining room causing the ceiling to bow. The plumber went right to the master bedroom bathroom, went under the sink and tightened the knob. He also checked the water pressure of the house, he checked the tub & shower.

 + -1 moreTo be honest, I wasn't very happy with the price. I did some research and figure out that I was being snookered by about $200-$300. Unfortunately, after trying a few other plumbers, I figured out that this was indeed the going price and that Hallam was slightly less then others. Paul Law came and replaced the water heater. I found him to be VERY good and would recommend him HIGHLY. We were told about the optional warranty and its cost. We were NOT pressured into it, but after listening to his thoughts, decided to buy it. After the installation, we received a courtesy call asking if everything was ok. There was a minor problem that needed to be fixed, they immediately scheduled a time and returned to fix the problem. To be honest, with this particular repair, we did have a no show for the followup repair job. The owner did apologize and the job was completed the next day. We have used this plumber before and have been very pleased. We are overall pleased with this work as well.
Description of Work: Replaced 50 gallon hot water heater with 75 gallon unit.

 + -1 moreI had a stopped up kitchen sink, not a priority repair, so I had to wait one week before the crew came out. To be fair, no one else would come out sooner (I called others to check). It turned out to be a simple repair, and the tech gave me couple of steps that I was not aware of before, that might help clear the drain next time. Otherwise, all aspects of the company were very good; the receptionist and the techs were pleasant and professional. I will call them again for a plumbing need.

They correctly and quickly identified the real problem with the pump, after another company had given us a bit of a run around with what was wrong.

 + -1 moreI discovered water pouring out of the water heater and called them at 6 pm on a Friday night. (Do these things ever happen during normal business hours?!) They told me to immediately turn off the water heater and circuit breaker to prevent further damage. The plumber arrived the next morning at the appointed time. 2 hours later, I had a new water heater up and running and the old one hauled away. It went very smoothly--would definitely hire again.

 + -1 moreGreat. George was very friendly, wore shoe covers, showed up on time (before me actually) and was extremely knowledgeable. We live in an older home in Broad Ripple and he knew the area and the materials. The repair took about 2 hours and our basement is dry as a bone!
Description of Work: We had a horrible leak coming from our shower into the basement for several weeks. We thought there was a leaky pipe behind the wall and the repair would require cutting into the drywall to expose the problem so we tried a few things on our own before calling someone in. George came from Metzler plumbing and at first thought we had a tile leak, then decided to check the faucet and realized there was an improper fit between a metal and plastic part. He replaced the part and the faucet and the leak is gone!

Description of Work: While my hot water heater appeared to look fine (no leaks) I was not able to complete a shower without upping the temperature 3-4 times (in 5 minutes) and ending the shower using only HOT water. Dave figured it had to be the dip tube, ordered the part, returned to install it a few days later.

 + -1 moreI discovered a busted water line in my home late Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, I called several plumbers to find someone who could come out and complete the repair. Due to the increase in business related to the cold weather, I was placed on a waiting list with each company I called. However, R V Hallam was the one company that was concerned that the water was shut off to the whole house. The dispatcher said she would work to get someone out that day. Within a couple of hours, Mark and Tim arrived and completed the repair. Both Mark and Tim were professional and completed the work in a timely manner. I am satisfied with the repair and I appreciate the fact that R V Hallam was able to get someone out the same day to complete my repair.
Description of Work: A water line was repaired in the crawlspace of the home. The repair consisted of replacing about two feet of flexible water line. Mark had to cut a small hole in the drywall inside the home to complete the repair.

 + -1 moreMetzler Plumbing installed a hot water heater. The job was poorly managed. They had to go back to shop twice for supplies and had to wait on a part not included by manufacturer at least 2 hours. They used our saws, files, ladder, work lamp, & lumber. They were here 14 hours to do what was a 5 hour job. They originally planned to drain the relief valve into crawl space (no pump in crawl) creating a potential risk for us for water damage in the future. They were here Thursday & Friday installing the heater. My husband got in the crawl space Saturday and found water dripping through the new plumbing. We called and they couldn't come out till Sunday (no one qualified on duty). The repairman came out Sunday, couldn't fix the problem a defective part would have to be ordered. The repairman showed up and managed to fix the problem without the replacement part. He was in too big of a hurry Sunday to check things out and could have made the repair on Sunday.
Description of Work: Replace water heater with Rinnai continuous flow water heater. Install in the closet wall adjacent to the kitchen area with venting discharge on the south wall. A 1" stainless steel Gastite piping supply will be run from existing heater gas supply to now heater location (60 ft). Water lines will stub down into crawl with copper piping. Installation includes connection kit and venting kit. Existing heater will be disconnected and disposed of.

Description of Work: Our water softener drained directly into the sump pump, which the inspection said was incorrect. He put on a safety valve in the sump pump. For him to reroute it to go to the sewer would be a bigger problem.
