water heater repair
 + -1 moreWhen I called at 7:00 AM, they said they would have someone at my house by 9:00 and that he would call when on his way. He called about 8:30 and was at my house promptly at 9:00. He needed to get the part and had it delivered to my house ASAP. The two guys worked together and had the heater fixed in no time. Great guys and fantastic service. I will use them again for sure!!!
Description of Work: Our water heater went out last night. My husband thought it was the thermocouple. I called Metzler at 7:00 AM and they were at my house by 9:00. It was the thermocouple and they needed to get the part as what they had didn't work. Someone drove it over and the water heater was working by 10:30.

 + -1 moreThey made it a point to call the tenant directly and get over there ASAP. Turns out gas was locked out from the home due to prior tenant not paying the bill. They called me and explained this to me but worked on some other items in the home to make sure all was working properly. Very punctual and friendly and did the job well.

 + -1 moreDisappointing experience, given that Andy did not seem to know what to do on his own (especially given the high Angie's List rating and what I would consider a typical plumbing issue). Clearly, the owner or a knowledgeable technician should have attended to our call. I probably should not have been charged anything for the visit because nothing was accomplished. However, in an effort to be reasonable, I agreed to pay the $35 "dispatch fee" and move on. I called our usual plumber for the floor drain (Gary of Lee's Complete Drain Service) and he came same day and cleared the main line for a fraction of what Metzler quoted. Learned also that Gary does all kinds of plumbing work. Will call Gary from now on.
Description of Work: Called in the evening re: Plumbing issue (toilet gurgling). Technician (Andy) arrived, as scheduled, the next morning. He was very pleasant, but seemed to know little about plumbing. Discussed issue and called "his boss" to determine how to proceed. Tried one fix (removed piece of sink pipe) and when this did not solve the problem, he put it back on and called his boss a second time. While he was on the phone with his boss seeking diagnostic guidance, I discovered that our floor drain had begun to back up and it became apparent that a clog in the main line was the culprit. Andy said he did not have the equipment necessary to clear the line but could get it and quoted me $320 for this service. I have had this line cleared for much less than that in the past, so I asked Andy what I would owe for his time (about 45 minutes). I paid and he left.

Description of Work: We have a basement garage with a waste line running from ceiling to ground and out to sewer line. We were having a leak from the top of this line. They determined the source was a bad toilet seal, fixed it and we haven't had a problem since.

 + -1 moreWe had a leak from our upstairs bath into the room below. I contacted Metzler Plumbing they checked their service schedules and called me back right away. They were booked but would send someone out after their service hours that evening. The plumber arrived on time, he was professional and polite. He assessed the problem quickly and efficiently. He showed me the problem, a leak behind the tiles in the shower, and explained what I should have fixed and how to get rid of any mildew and mold. This ended up not being a plumbing problem, but I appreciated their professional response to my call and will call them again.
Description of Work: Called Metzler Plumbing about a tub/shower leak. Plumber assessed problem and recommended solution.

Description of Work: Our water came to a trickle. We called Metzler, we never call any one else. They tried to remove our well pump but it could not be done. The pump was shot, we needed another well drilled,because the pump could not be removed. They charged a lot less then quoted and they called a company that could do the job. They made sure the new company came, and were updated on the situation before leaving. Then they checked back after the company was finished to be sure that we were doing fine. We were thanks to Metzler. We will never use any other plumbing co.

 + -1 moreThe technician that came to repair the spigot did not do a good job. Left a mess and did not clean up at all, and the spigot was still leaking. I made a complaint to Angie's List, and they advised me to call the company. They responded promptly, came out and did the work all over again, also installed a shut off valve, but did not charge me more.

 + -1 moreOverall this experience with Brandon was quite pleasant. He took the time to explain in detail what needed to be done and why. Based on this good experience, we discussed additional work on a water softener. That is another story and another report.
Description of Work: I had no hot water and I was expecting to be told that I needed a new water heater. Instead Brandon recommended to first make some minor repairs and adjustments, rather than replacing the entire heater. This resulted in a reasonable repair bill.

I will definitely call them again when needed. The man was a little late but he had called before he was due, to inform me, and then once here apologized several times, and all that for only being 20 minutes late. He was a very nice man.

 + -1 moreThe service tech was able to locate the parts I needed from the distributor and came back out to install them the same day they arrived. Without the replacement parts, I was looking at a very costly repair to cut through the drywall from inside and change out both outside faucets. He also located the source of the problem with the whole house filter, an incorrect setting and as an added bonus, he showed me how to turn off the soft water when I needed to water the grass, then turn it on again. He made it easy to understand, but didn't treat me like I was a blockhead.
Description of Work: I was having problems with my two outside faucets on a newly purchased house. The vacuum breakers were not working correctly and I was having trouble finding the parts I needed. Also, there was something strange going on with the whole house filter and my water pressure was very low.

They also were reasonable with their pricing and provided some additional discounts to meet some other quotes we had. I called them because of their rating and standing with Angie's List and would use them again anytime.
