Working with the MJW team was a very good experience. This was my first home, and as such I was unfamiliar with the process. MJW took the time to explain each step, but also made sure that everything was completed in a timely manner.

I have dealt with a lot of different lenders throughout the years. I am happy to report that I have found a home with MJW Financial. Their team was punctual in action towards the quick closer of my house which was very important to me. Pricing and the flexibility of my structured home loan was just what I was looking for.

I had hoped that I would be able recommend MJW Financial to other potential buyers and realtors that I know for mortgage services after my experience with them. But after being taken advantage of, my experience with their services was unsatisfactory. I was quoted by both Chase bank and MJW Financial for our most recent mortgage on our home, and found both to be competitive in rates and fees. My broker with MJW, however, warned me that Chase tends to charge an origination point with their mortgages. MJW, in his words, does not. Keeping this in mind throughout the process, which admittedly was smooth, I ended up deciding to use MJW for the closing. That turned out to be a mistake. The day I was sent the closing costs and fees and was expected to make the wire transfer for the down payment (two days before closing), I learned that it was actually MJW that was attempting to charge me an origination point on the loan after repeatedly guaranteeing me that they would not. After speaking with my mortgage broker, he informed me that he would "make it right" and that the origination point was an "oversight" on his part. It is a month later and I have heard nothing from MJW since the closing. It leads me to believe that, after learning of my commitment to use their services, they felt they could take advantage of our financial situation and squeeze an extra several thousand dollars out of us. It made the closing, for me, a very bitter affair when it should have been one of joy and excitement. I do NOT recommend MJW Financial for Mortgage services and strongly urge potential clients to look elsewhere.

Michael was a great guy to work with. I'm a first-time home buyer and he really went the extra mile to walk me through the process above and beyond what he needed to do. It ended up that I couldn't use him as a lender due to some special circumstances with my builder (new construction buy), but every interaction I had with Michael and Angie was top-notch service. Also his rate was incredibly competitive, even with the national online lenders. If I buy another house in the Indy area I will for sure go with MJW.

MJW exceeded our expectations. Responsive, thorough, personable and experienced. Our home sold faster than expected and they assisted us in closing on our new home despite ALL the challenges we experienced with our sellers. If you are looking for a lender, you won't go wrong with Mike and his team. Mike, Chelsea and Korinne were with us the entire way up until closing.

Michael was very professional and thoroughly answered every and all questions we had. At one point, Michael even spoke with me on the phone, for a lengthy period of time, going through every individual box of our closing disclosure and explaining what it meant. He gave us the best interest rate of all companies we looked into and was very knowledgeable. The only thing that would have been nice was if someone had shown up at our closing, especially since the title company was just down the street, as we had never actually met in person. However, all in all, the company was very easy to work with, and we were very happy with the end result.

Michael and his team made the mortgage process extremely easy for us first-time home buyers. He took the time to explain each item in detail so we understood what each cost meant. I'm an old hand at buying and selling and have been a landlord and renovator for years. I'm not easily impressed. I can count on one hand the number of providers of any house-related service I have continued to use over the last 20 years. Michael Wampler (and Corinne, office manager) have earned a spot on that roster. I was extremely impressed, and everything came together beautifully and in record time. I came to Michael late in the game, taking an assignment of someone else's purchase, yet still having a firm closing date only 3 weeks out, after which I would lose money. Some companies could not possibly perform; Mr. Wampler knows how to take care of business and got it done. I had the appraisal back in just a couple of days. He was extremely responsive; I got documents to him as quickly as possible, and it just worked. We were the first loan to close at our particular Title Company under the new TRID rules, so there was some concern, but it all closed on time, and we are very happy with our rate, and our new home. Meanwhile, I'm selling another home and the process is not going as smoothly or as quickly. Wish I had recommended MJW Financial to my Buyers! He is now "my" mortgage broker! Originally I was going to refinance my rental home through Union Savings Bank. My conditions, to which Union Savings Bank agreed, were that I would not escrow and would bring no money to the table. When my closing day came, the title company rep asked me for my check. Check for what, I asked? For your escrow and leftover loan fees she replied. Wow! Union Savings Bank had lied to me! And they fully expected me to still be willing to sign the closing documents. They were wrong. I walked out. I share this story to explain how I found my way to MJW Financial. And also to explain why I especially appreciate the service I received. MJW Financial is straight up. I trust them. They answered all my questions. They did exactly what they said they would do. I got a good loan rate and didn't pay too much for it. When my house didn't appraise for as much as we thought it should, they found another investor and got the house appraised again. And best of all? When my closing day came there were no surprises. Everything was as it was supposed to be, down to the Diet Coke which I had requested. Thanks again Mike and Corrine!

David Powell was our lender and very knowledgeable and most importantly accessible! We were always able to get ahold of him and in the home buying process which can be stressful at times, that makes an enormous difference. He got everything to us and to the right people on time or early and kept us apprised of next steps. We are so glad we had him in our corner, thanks David!

We had a very difficult purchasing process with issues ranging from purchase agreement delays to zoning issues to moving targets on closing dates to ineffective real estate agents. Mike and his team stood by us from, literally, beginning to end. Mike got us a good interest rate and even took a chance on us when he agreed to honor the Angie's List deal for a free appraisal even when he wasn't sure if our property was going to be eligible for a conventional loan. His team worked diligently to the final hour on a Friday evening to help us close. Mike even stayed on close contact with us when he had to travel out of country for a personal emergency to reassure me, when I was all but certain that the deal was about to fall apart. I know I wasn't the easiest customer to work for throughout such a stressful ordeal but MJW really stepped up and went to bat for us and got the deal done.
