Mina Tailors & Fine Clothier

Tony is one of the few places that sells the Hart, Schaffner and Max brand of men's clothing, and he is located downtown, which is convenient to me. I ordered 3 pairs of slacks, he obtained them quickly and his shop altered them well. I will purchase more, including suits.

Always professional and always on time.  I live out of town now, and Tony has always bee flexible with my schedule.  He does a very nice job.

After the initial purchase was agreed to and mostly finalized, I discovered a number of problems with the purchase.  I brought them up with Tony and he told me over and over that it was not a problem and we would take care of everything and that he was an honest guy.  I TRUSTED him and decided to continue with the purchase. I was so relieved since I was very stressed out over the problems.  HOWEVER, after a few days when I went to follow up with Tony he told me that he would do absolutely NOTHING to help me out, and completely blew me off.  So much for being an HONEST guy!!!  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take your business somewhere else and work with somebody who will stay true to their word.

He quoted the price and told my husband exactly what the timing needed to be to get this done right with his groomsmen and he delivered a great quality product in the end ahead of schedule. He met with the guys all together on a Sat morning when things were rather quiet for him typically and took great time and care in measuring each and every one of the guys as if they were his only customer.
Not only was my husband impressed but becuase of that experience all of his groomsmen agreed that when the time comes that they need to get into a good fitting suit, they will be coming back to Mina's to get it done. I highly recommend taking a little extra time of your own to get a great fitting and suit in the end. It will be well worth your effort to be comfortable.

I would sooo go back there again, especially after the experience we had at another store where the clerk tried to sell a suit that was too small and would have been uncomfortable for sitting. Mr. Mina did not sell fashion as much as he sold quiet "class" and a good business look.

I needed a suit altered for a wedding I was going to the day after Christmas in Chicago. After speaking with the owner, he assured me that he would have the suit ready December, 23rd - I was leaving on Christmas Eve, so the timing was very important. On the 23rd, there was ice storm that knocked out power on the block Mina was located. I didn't find this out until i went to pick up my suit after work around 5. I left a message stating that I needed to get my suit somehow. The owner called me back later that night and said he could open up the store for me the next day. As promised, the store was opened and I was able to pick up the suit before I left. The suit was well tailored and I remembered the price was fair (I can't remember the exact amount).

When I arrived at Mina's, no one greeted me. After a minute or so, Tony came out and seemed flustered. I asked him if he could hem my jeans for me and he hesitated...seemed busy and told me he was working on filming a TV commercial. Then he said okay, I should put on the jeans so he could mark them. He gave me a pick up date of one week. I went back into the dressing room to change out of them and when I came out he was gone. I laid my jeans on the counter and hoped he would get them. When I arrived on the pick up date, he looked through his rack for my jeans, and they weren't ready. He said something about having a major gas spill in the front room that had to be cleaned up and all the clothes had to be altered off-site. The room looked exactly the same to me and showed no sign of either damage or repair. He told me it would be about another week. It bothered me that he did not call me to tell me of the delay. Parking is not free down there. The good news is the jeans were hemmed perfectly. However, having worked in retail for 10 years myself, I value customer service and did not receive it at Mina's.

It went by perfectly. Tony Mina is very personable; his shop is clean and professional.
