Michael's Tree Experts

We have used Michael's before and have always been pleased with their work. This time he brought in a 70 ton crane and dismantled the tree limb by limb. It turned out to be hollow all the way up. All the work was done without damage to the house or other trees. All of the tree was removed and hauled away and the area was cleaned up. Later this year, Michael came back and planted 3 hemlocks for us to fill the gap left by the old oak. We feel that Michael did a great job in removing this hazard for us at a very reasonable price.

While weeding in my wooded backyard, I discovered that one of the trees had completely split at the base and was now significantly weakened by termite damage. It wouldn't take much for the whole thing to come down on the house! I left a message for owner Mike Eickholtz, and in less than an hour he was there, securing the tree with large ropes to keep it in place until he could remove it the next day.His quick response was a godsend - within hours a fierce storm with 50mph winds blew through the area. I feel certain the tree wouldn't have made it without those ropes to anchor it. The next morning he and his crew arrived and safely removed the tree - a challenge in itself with such a precarious trunk, but their efficient, competent approach made quick work of it. While they were working, a neighbor approached me and asked that I have them remove some additional limbs along the property line. As this wasn't part of the scheduled work I was hesitant to ask, but they understood and quickly trimmed the branches along the fence, too. They gathered and disposed of all the debris on site. I've used Michael's Tree Experts before and have been very pleased with their work. The bids are competitive, the workers are diligent, and Mike's affable personality makes him a pleasure to work with. Even better, he's a professional arborist, so he has a true understanding of the care and cultivation of trees, and he's great about sharing that knowledge. I know I'll be using Michael's Tree Experts again, and I can happily recommend it to others.

Thought everything went great. I got my estimate; it was left in my mailbox as explained; and then the service was provided. I've been really busy at work so I haven't been able to be home a lot and everything was able to be taken care of without having to miss any work. I got a few other estimates and this came out to be the cheapest. The angie's list discount definitely helped!

After agreeing on the price they altered their schedule to accomodate my vacation plans. The tree was removed, the stump ground out and all the debris was removed. They were not the cheapest estimate I received but I was sold on all they were doing that another contractor danced around.

ARRIVED ON TIME AND DID THE NECESSARY WORK WITH OUT ANY PROBLEMS. MICHAEL WAS VER PROFESSIONAL AT ALL TIMES. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN...AND WILL.

Michael's returned calls promptly and set a time and date to assess the work. Their price was much lower than expected; they performed the work to our satisfaction and cleaned up after themselves. We've used them in the past and will do so again in the future.

I contacted Michael's to get an estimate to remove the large tree limb. After some minor confusion at the outset in terms of date for the estimate, we got together. Michael was very affable and professional. We proceeded with the project. Michael not only removed the tree limb in question but, without additional charge, removed some smaller limbs on a Maple sitting close to the roof that we had discussed. The work was done very professionally, and they accomodated me on a quick work date so that I could bring in a roofer.

I again felt that the service could have been handled more professionally if he would have had someone return my call after serveral months and serveral messages.

He did an excellent job. He had excellent prices. His attitude was excellent. If you are going to get your trees worked on, you better go with Michael's.

Estimate given by Michael's Tree Service on 3 December 2010. They didn't arrive to do this work until early January 2011.....They were a bit slow in arriving to do the work. Payment was made promptly upon completion. Spring arrived and we noticed the dead limbs on the Red Oak in the back that were there when we hired them had not been removed. I emailed and called to get Michael to return to take care of this Oak tree. The telephone conversation didn't go well as he told me he did this particular tree himself and that the tree was dying. He stated he would be out the following week to take a look at it again and call me as soon after looking at it again. I never heard from him, so I assume he never returned. I finally sent a letter to Michael's Tree Service on 25 August 2011, along with a copy to Angie's List stating our dissatisfaction and that we wanted the work completed that had already been paid for. His office finally called and stated he would be out the following day to look at the tree again and that he would make it right. Michael did show up. He said he would make it right and that he would return the following week to complete the removal of the deadwood of this Oak tree. He arrived promptly the next business day, so now all the deadwood has been removed. We purposely hire smaller companies through Angie's List categories to give them the work over the larger well known companies in the city. Even though it was a lot of hassle for me, and it took 8 long aggravating months to get Michael's Tree Service to complete the contracted work, I would seriously considering hiring them for future work.

My husband and I returned home from a long weekend to find huge limbs in our driveway and a neighbor informing us that part of our fir tree had fallen across the street onto his son's car! Time to find a professional!! I found Michael's contact info on Angie's List after I had waited a week for a return call from another company.Michael called me within an hour and came by the next day to look at the damaged trees. We were pleased with his information and price and scheduled work for the following week. We were eager to get the limbs removed from our yard and driveway, but understood that companies must make up a prioritized schedule regarding severity of damage caused by the limbs as well as size of the job. Two weeks after the originally schedule work date, my husband called Michael who was very apologetic, explaining all the work they had been doing due to storm damage. We were the first job of the next week. The work was performed efficiently, completely, and the clean up job was amazing! They even took old branches I had swept up from a much earlier storm, not included in their original estimate. In spite of the "hiccup" of waiting our turn for their service, I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the price. I will call them in the future- hopefully not because of more storm damage!

Michael's took the tree down and cut and cleaned up in just a few hours. They cleaned up to the point you didn't know they had been there. It was an awesome job. A few days later someone else came and ground the stump.

Mike came out and gave us an estimate and was helpful in answering questions about what would be most beneficial for the trees in our yard. We weren't entirely sure how many branches should be trimmed off the willow tree, so they cut off 2 branches while we were out of town, and said they'd come back and trim more if we thought it was necessary. When we came back into town we noticed that an additional branch needed to be cut, and they came out promptly and finished the job without additional costs. This is the second time we've used them. They cut down a tree in our front yard last year and did a nice job for a price that was better than the 5 other companies I got quotes from. I would definitely recommend Mike's.

Received an initial estimate, then returned to review work and discuss options. Finalized work, verified insurance and bonding, scheduled time within two weeks. Completed work in one day. Very clean professional job. Very pleased.

Michael was the lowest of four bidders and worked us in on the date I requested. He called to confirm and was right on time. I asked him to remove some additional shrubs while on site and was reasonable with the additional work. Cleaned up and was gone in less than an hour and a half. Very professional and would use again.

Everything went very well. The owner, Michael Eickholtz, was the first to respond to our request for quotes, and then he and a co-worker started work the next business day. The job lasted two days, and they were very professional and cleaned up everything very thoroughly.

I was amazed at how efficient they worked. They were done in 2 hours and left my yard without a single piece of bark or branch leftover from the job. They will be back in a few days to grind the stump down and then I'll be ready to reseed. I would recommend Michael's service to anyone. Excellent value for the service he provided.

Mike came to to give an estimate that day, he told me when we would be able to get to the work and did it when and how he said he would. We have used him a few times to remove trees or assist with ones that are uprooted. I will continue to use his services.

It went very well. He was able to come give me an estimate immediately, and completed the work the following week due to icy weather. Very nice, knowledgeable, and professional. Always able to get him right away on the phone--no phone tag--which was really great. I hated to spend that much, but I don't know what these jobs usually run. I got the run around from 2 other companies about even getting an estimate.

We had a large maple tree that needed significant work. They tremmed the tree and installed a cable to help prevent splitting. They also trimmed two bradford pears and installed cables in these trees. A dead tree and the stump were removed. Michael was very knowledgable and asked what we wanted to accomplish. I asked him to do what was best for the trees and the results were very good. I would highly recommend them.

i got the number from angies list. called them. he came out around the 1st of the week. we showed hi what we wanted 8 stumps ground down. and he quoted a price and wrote out a slip. we made arrangements he came out a couple days later was here maybe an hour. very pleasant and got the job done... will recomend them and use them again....

Excellent ... Michael responded immediately with a written estimate for the job. He and his accociates showed up on time, completed the work requested, cleaned up all debris and actually cut down an additional dead tree in my yard when I asked. He did not accept any additional money for that. I would highly suggest Michael's Tree Experts and I will call him again when I need assistance with my trees!

Mike is very thorough and careful although the tree was perched precariously on the house and sunroom. All debris was cleaned up.I have used this company several times for large tree removal. They are consistently prompt with wonderful service
