Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel, Deck and Porch Service
From the first contact to the last they were professional and courteous. They provided an estimate that was adhered to with no surprises. When a surprise request for a building permit arose, Dave immediately took care of it. When weather delays occurred Dave let me know what to expect. They removed all items and left no debris of any kind behind. I was impressed by the quality of all the workers and of their work ethic. I never saw anyone loafing around.I was very impressed with the whole operation and would recommend them to anyone needing construction done.

My 1938 kitchen had some remodels done sometime in the 50s, again in the 80s, it seemed. It took months to find a local, affordable contractor/company who would tackle a remodel that did NOT involve installing new cabinets. I hired designers, made tons of calls. In the end, I hired Figy Construction (which included Dave) because of what I heard was a really high quality, master craftsman, a love of old homes, creative problem-solving and their own "in-house" electrician/HVAC guy. I knew that would save time and money when surprises came up. Dave partners with Figy Construction on lots of projects, but also has his own company "Maintenance Master." I know him from both experiences. For the remodel, they came over several times before getting started. They bought most supplies, but when I had to buy appliances, etc, they advised me. They hired the plumber and stayed with him while he re-plumbed my dishwasher. Dave worked on general construction-building cabinets, installing wood counters, tiling backsplash, building shelves. But, he also re-wired faulty wires in the kitchen, installed new outlets, got things up to code, installed undercabinet lighting, installed all the lights. He came up with great solutions for old -house complications. It was great having someone on the team who was a licensed electrician and HVAC professional. When complications came up, we could problem-solve on the spot and he could deal with (no waiting to hire someone else to come in and lose time on the job.) It would have been cheaper and easier to gut the kitchen and start over, but he and his partner appreciate old homes and clearly loved trying to bring it back to life. His fees (and Figy's as partners) are fantastic. How much I spent isn't quite accurate. The total remodel was about $12K, but several other subs were brought in, so the cost is a guess on Dave's fee. Since the remodel, I've called Dave several times to re-wire outlets, change out faulty wires, replace outlets -general electrical work. The other day, he checked wiring in my attic before I put in insulation. He also replaced 2 outlets and re-wired a scary closet light socket. Dave Gentry is low-key and efficient. I tried to work with several self-employed electricians before finding him through Figy Construction. He's always been responsive - the same day with a call. If he can, he gets over within the next day or so. He provides referrals of other folks if things are found that require work he doesn't do (like insulation.) Easy to talk to, listens well. I always have questions about other things going on - he'll frequently check them out while here.

Maintenance Master has performed work for me personally for 20 years, I have also contracted the company to perform work on commercial buildings and apartment communities. I have found the work to be competitive in price and quality is outstanding.
