Larry did a good job except for a little caulking that I had to touch up which was likely caused by them hurrying to finish as it had started to rain. He was able to come out to look at the small job in less than a week and we scheduled it right away.

He was very professional, punctual, and fair.

Larry responded quickly to my request for an estimate and arrived at the scheduled time. He called a day or two later with an estimate and then followed up about a week after that, inquiring about my decision. His estimate was about $1250. Two other handymen/carpenters would only approach the job on a time/materials basis. I'm still undecided about who to choose and may wait until the spring.

Larry was prompt in coming out to give an estimate; he was unable/unwilling to give an estimate without opening up the wall first; gave an estimate to open wall and inspect; only then would give an estimate for the complete job; was able to do job within 7-10 days.

I have worked with Larry on numerous occasions. He is always fair, on time and does what he says he will. If you want good service at a great price, I would highly recommend him.

Everything was very positive. He did it very quickly and did a nice job doing the edges. I thought the price was quite reasonable. He's an independent contractor, and I think he relies on Angie's List for a lot of business, so he likes to make people very happy.

Larry caulked the valley of the roof. The roof has not leaked since he fixed it, but the worst time of year for this leak is the Spring. It does not leak with every rain. He has guaranteed the work. Larry was very professional and worked through all my questions and concerns.

LARRY AND HIS PARTNER WERE EFFICIENT IN PROVIDING AN ESTIMATE, AND CAME TO DO THE WORK IN SYNC WITH OUR PAINTERS. THEY DID A NICE JOB, WORKING QUICKLY AND QUIETLY. THEIR PRICE SEEMED HIGH FOR THE AMOUNT OF TIME SPENT, BUT I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN FOR THEIR PROFESSIONALISM.

HE WAS QUICK AND ACCOMMODATING WITH THE ESTIMATE. AT NO EXTRA CHARGE HE PATCHED SOME AIR DUCTS AND REINFORCED THE FLOOR. HE ARRIVED ON TIME, FINISHED THE WORK BEFORE HE ESTIMATED AND CLEANED UP WHEN HE WAS DONE. HE AND HIS PARTNER WERE VERY COURTEOUS. I'D DEFINITELY HAVE HIM WORK AT MY HOUSE AGAIN.

WE MIGHT HAVE HAVE HIM DO FLOORING AS WELL. HE WAS PUNCTUAL AND POLITE, AND DID A GOOD JOB IN A TIMELY MANNER. IT WAS A SATISFACTORY OPERATION, AND WE WOULD HIRE HIM AGAIN.

LARRY CAME OUT ON TIME AND ESTIMATED THE WORK $1610.00. WE OPTED TO HAVE THE GUTTER BOARDS REPLACE BY THE GUTTER COMPANY RATHER THAN TRY TO COORDINATE TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES. THE ESTIMATE REQUESTED HALF UP FRONT TO COVER COST OF MATERIALS.

THE JOB WAS GREAT. BUT WHEN HE DID AN ESTIMATE FOR ANOTHER JOB, THE PRICES WERE EXTREMELY HIGH. IT APPEARED AS THOUGH HE DID NOT HAVE A CONCRETE SYSTEM FOR PRICING.

CALLED MR. SHOFFNER TO GET AN ESTIMATE ON A CARPENTRY JOB (HOUSE EXTERIOR) AND LEFT MESSAGE. WAITED A WEEK AND DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL BACK.

LARRY IS VERY LAID BACK - WHICH MAKES HIM EASY TO WORK WITH. HIS WORK IS FIRST CLASS AND HIS PRICING IS ALWAYS REASONABLE. HE COMPLETED THE CARPENTRY WORK FASTER THAN EXPECTED BUT THERE WAS A DELAY IN REPLACING THE GUTTERS. ULTIMATELY IT WAS DECIDED THAT WE NEEDED NEW GUTTERS (INSTEAD OF SIMPLY PUTTING THE OLD ONES BACK UP) AND LARRY ATE THE ADDITIONAL COST HIMSELF! A TRULY PROFESSIONAL GESTURE AND ONE THAT LIKELY WILL KEEP ME COMING BACK TO HIM FOR FUTURE WORK.

LARRY AND HIS COLLEAGUE ARRIVED ON TIME, TOOK NOTES ON THE JOB NEEDED, SPENT ABOUT 2 MINUTES AT THE HOUSE (OTHER HANDYMEN WE HAD GIVE US ESTIMATES SPENT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES MAKING SEVERAL MEASUREMENTS AND ASKING MANY QUESTIONS). LARRY FOLLOWED UP AS PROMISED THAT EVENING WITH A PHONE CALL AND THE ESTIMATE - WHICH WAS MORE THAN DOUBLE WHAT OTHERS HAD ESTIMATED. WE ASKED HIM TO FAX OVER A WRITTEN COPY AND HE REFUSED, SAYING, ''I'M VERY BUSY AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO WRITE SOMETHING UP AND FAX IT TO YOU UNLESS YOU'RE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED.'' WE DID NOT HIRE LARRY, AND WILL NOT CALL HIM FOR ANY FUTURE WORK.

THIS COULD NOT HAVE GONE ANY BETTER. I WILL BE CALLING LARRY FOR EVERY PROJECT I HAVE THAT HE IS WILLING TO TAKE.

VERY IMPRESSED WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE WHEN HE VISITED THE HOUSE TO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATE. ESTIMATE WAS MORE THAN ANOTHER CARPENTER'S BUT FELT THAT IT WAS WORTH IT DUE TO HIS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY TO GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY. WAS ENCOURAGED THAT HE WAS AN EXPERT CARPENTER AND WOULD DO AN EXCELLENT JOB. HE PROVIDED A WRITTEN ESTIMATE UPON REQUEST. HE AND HIS PARTNER WERE ABLE TO GET STARTED RIGHT AWAY, AND WERE VERY ORGANIZED. HE WAS AT THE HOUSE VERY EARLY AND WORKED STEADILY THROUGHOUT THE DAY WITH NO BREAKS. COMPLETED THE JOB WITHIN 2 DAYS. THEY WERE ABLE TO RE-USE SOME OF THE GOOD WOOD ON THE HOUSE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE ALL OF THE GUTTERBOARDS (DUE TO ROTTING) & MOST OF THE SOFFITS (ALSO DUE TO ROTTING). LARRY EXPLAINED WHAT CONTRIBUTED TO THE PROBLEM AND RECOMMENDED THAT WHEN WE PURCHASE GUTTERS, THAT WE INSTALL GUTTERGUARDS TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. VERY PLEASED WITH THE WORK AND THE CLEANUP. WILL USE AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

LARRY WAS PUNCTUAL IN COMING OUT TO GIVE A QUOTE. HOWEVER, AS WE WERE WALKING AROUND THE HOUSE HE HARDLY WROTE ANYTHING DOWN OR CLIMBED A LADDER TO INSPECT THE CONDITIONS OF THINGS I WAS POINTING OUT. THEN HIS QUOTE CONSISTED OF WRITING A PRICE ON THE BACK OF HIS BUSINESS CARD AND LEAVING IT IN OUR MAILBOX THE NEXT DAY. ON IT HE ASKED THAT WE CALL HIM BECAUSE HE LOST OUR PHONE NUMBER! THIS DIDN'T SEEM TO BE VERY PROFESSIONAL TO ME, ESPECIALLY COMPARED TO A COUPLE OTHER COMPANIES THAT I HAD GIVE ME QUOTES. HE DID PROVIDE THE LOWEST QUOTE, THOUGH, $2,100.00. I ENDED UP HIRING ANOTHER COMPANY TO DO THE WORK.
