GLOVER'S TREE SERVICE

While Marty did OK with the first part of the job, he took a couple of weeks to do the work, then, within minutes of finishing, he called me at work to demand immediate payment. I said I couldn't just leave work (I teach a half an hour away) but would leave a check in the mailbox when I got home. When I got home, at 5:00, there were two messages from him saying he had been by the house twice, wondered where I was and really needed his money. (Very strangely desperate!) Mistakenly, I paid him an additional $100 to cut a limb that probably should have been cut the first time AND to clean two upper gutters, but he did not return to do the work. I called him twice to check on when he would return and each time he said it would be the next day but he never did return.

Work performed was excellent, but to the damage of the grill was very slow.

They provided the estimate and performed the work at the agreed times. The work was completely satisfactory and they did an excellent job cleaning up after they were done.

We asked that the crew give us notice so we could be home when they were working. They didn't. Left debris in the street for several days. Called Monte and he sent them out on the weekend to remove ''logs'' from the street. Workers were swearing, didn't wear shirts and were mad. The stump was finally ground out and shavings removed. Monte is usually in a foul mood. He asked to use the bathroom and when I hesitated he urinated in the yard. A difficult person to do business with.

They did the work for a reasonable price. The Men Monte sent to do the job did not seem to recognize the work Monte said was necessary on a few trees. Monte and these men were not consistent even in naming the type of tree they were working on, complained about the work they were doing. Unprofessional every time Monte saw something new to be done and I asked about price, he would up the price by $100.00, even when this resulted in minimal or unnecessary new work.

I accepted Mr. Glover's bid which started last week and I was told that it would only take 1 day to do the job. His crew arrived at 9:30am and left by 2:00pm. One of his crew ground the stumps but the project didn't get finished. He came out the next morning, the stump grinder wouldn't work. He got it to work in reverse and got it stuck in my yard. It rained that night and the machine sunk into the ground. They came out on Easter Sunday to get it out. His employees were using fowl language. They then came the following Tuesday to finish the job but the job was still incomplete. He said he'd come out again the next day which he did and got angry with me for complaining. I paid in full and he hasn't finished the job. His attitude is awful and he even threatened me. I wouldn't recommend Glover's Tree Service to anyone.

Mr. Glover missed initial appointment date for the estimate, then arrived 1/2 hour prior to appt time on a Sunday morning. The company failed to call prior to performing the job. It just so happened we had the gate into the yard unlocked, otherwise he would not have been able to perform the task. They cut the trees shorter than we expected. We thought they would be trimmed but they actually topped the trees. The company did a fine job cleaning up and this was certainly more affordable than other estimates we'd received. Despite all these comments, I would hire them again. Bottom line: Don't cancel any appointments waiting for them and specify exactly what you want.

We were very happy with the work. We have two Bradford pears that tend to get very top heavy and dangerous. They cut the trees so they are only about ten feet tall. They cut a large maple from our power line and did an excellent job of retaining the shape, and they cut a very big mulberry that was growing over our garage roof so the down-growing limbs do not damage the roof. Monty missed the original appointment to give us an estimate. I called a week later and he came immediately. The work was done exactly as we wanted and the crew cleaned up all the debris.

OUT ON TIME AND WERE QUICK. THEY CLEANED UP WELL, AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. IT WAS THE LOWEST BID WE RECEIVED.

ONCE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED, THEY DID A FINE JOB & IT WAS FAIRLY PRICED. PEOPLE USING MONTY'S SERVICE NEED TO BE AWARE HE IS NOT GOOD AT MEETING APPOINTMENTS & RETURNING CALLS. IF YOU USE HIM, BE SURE TO FOLLOW UP ON SCHEDULING.

I SPOKE WITH MONTY TO HAVE SOME TREE STUMPS REMOVED. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS CALLING BECAUSE HE HAD THE ANGIE'S LIST LOGO IN HIS YELLOW PAGE ADVERTISEMENT. WE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET 9/28/2005 @ 10:30 AM AT MY HOUSE. HE CALLED AT 11:20 AM TO TELL ME THAT HE COULDN'T MAKE IT ON TIME, AND OFFERED AN ALTERNATE TIME THAT DAY OR NEXT DAY, MY CHOICE OF TIMES. HE WAS APOLOGETIC, SO I CHOSE THE NEXT DAY FOR 10:00. MR. GLOVER NEVER CALLED, AND NEVER SHOWED FOR THE APPOINTMENT. I CHECKED MY CALLER I.D. TO MAKE SURE OF THIS, IN THE EVENT THAT I MIGHT BE OUTSIDE. I ALSO CARRIED MY PORTABLE PHONE WITH ME TO ANSWER ANY CALLS.

WAS VERY RESPONSIVE IN GETTING MY QUOTE, WHICH WAS VERY COMPETITIVE. WORK WAS COMPLETED AND NEATLY DONE.

MONTY CAME OUT TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE WITHIN AN HOUR OF MY CALL, ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON. HE GAVE ME HIS QUOTE AND SAID HE WOULD BE OUT TO DO THE WORK BY THE END OF THE WEEK. HE CAME OUT ON TUESDAY, COMPLETED THE JOB AND HAD EVERYTHING CLEANED UP BEFORE WE EVEN GOT HOME FROM WORK. HE DID A GREAT JOB, WAS FAST, THOROUGH AND VERY EFFICIENT. I PLAN TO HAVE HIM COME BACK AGAIN TO REMOVE MORE TREES. I HAD CALLED A COUPLE OF OTHER COMPANIES PRIOR TO CALLING MR. GLOVER. HE HAD THE JOB DONE BEFORE THEY RETURNED MY CALL REQUESTING A QUOTE.

I NEVER DID GET A CALL BACK AFTER THREE TRIES.

GLOVER'S TREE SERVICE RETURNED MY CALL AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL THE MORNING OF 7/6/05 TO TELL ME WHEN THEY COULD COME ON 7/6/05. THEY DIDN'T CALL OR COME. I CALLED THEM BACK AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD COME AFTER A 10:00 APPOINTMENT IN MY AREA ON 7/7/05. THEY DIDN'T COME.

THEY CAME ACROSS VERY CONFIDENT ON THE PHONE. THEY WERE QUICK AND EFFICIENT. THERE WAS A LITTLE WOOD LEFT OVER FROM THE GRINDING. THEY HAD TO USE MY GARBAGE CAN TO HELP IN THE CLEAN UP AND IT WAS LEFT DIRTIER THAN IT WAS WHEN I GOT IT. THEY DIDN'T GIVE ME A BILL UNTIL ALL OF THE WORK WAS COMPLETED INCLUDING STUMP GRINDING.

THEY WERE GOOD AND I RECOMMEND THEM TO ALL OF OUR NEIGHBORS.

GOOD SERVICE. PROMPT, VERY PLEASED WITH RESULTS.

THEY DID A GOOD JOB. THE ONLY ISSUE I HAD IS THEY LEFT ALL THE WOOD CHIPS BEHIND AFTER GRINDING THE STUMP.

MONTY WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH, HE UNDERSTOOD JUST WHAT WE NEEDED. THE WORK WAS DONE QUICKLY AND QUIETLY, AND ALL DEBRIS WAS CLEANED UP!

THE WORK WAS FINALLY PERFORMED. ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN IN OCT 2003 AND WAS TO BE COMPLETED IN 2 OR 3 WEEKS. I HAD TO CALL SEVERAL TIMES TO SEE IF THEY WERE GOING TO DO THE WORK. IT TOOK 5 MONTHS. THE JOB MUST HAVE BEEN TOO SMALL.

MONTE CALLED ME BACK PROMPTLY AND CAME OUT THE SAME DAY TO GIVE ME A PROPOSAL. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME (ACTUALLY EARLY) AND DID A VERY PROFESSIONAL JOB. ALL TWIGS AND BRANCHES WERE CLEANED UP FROM YARD. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY.

THEY DID THE WORK SOONER THAN EXPECTED AND DID A GOOD JOB. THEY DID THE WORK THE WAY I THOUGHT IT SHOULD BE DONE. THEY WERE QUICK AND DID A NICE JOB OF CLEANING UP, SOMETHING THAT THEY SOMETIMES SLOUGH OFF ON. ALSO, THEY USED HIGH CLIMBERS AND NOT A BUCKET TRUCK SO MY YARD WAS NOT MESSED UP.

GLOVER'S CAME AND DID THE WORK. THEIR CREW DID A GREAT JOB AND CLEANED THE AREA. HE RETURNED CALLS, BUT NOT AS QUICKLY AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED. HOWEVER, TO BE FAIR, I'M SURE HE WAS BUSY AND I WAS IMPATIENT. THERE WERE A LOT OF TREES DOWN AFTER THE WINDSTORM. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN IF NEEDED.

PRICES FROM OTHER COMPANIES RANGED FROM $165-300. GOOD ABOUT GETTING BACK WITH CALLS AND GETTING OUT TO OUR HOUSE WITHIN FEW DAYS. I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. GOOD PRICE, RESPONSIVENESS AND GOT THE JOB DONE.
