Fine Painting was in our neighborhood to provide an estimate to a neighbor and I asked if they could stop by our house after they finished. Fine had provided and estimate for us last spring but we ended up not having the work done, so I wanted to see if our estimate from last year was any different. Greg did come by, was very thorough, took a good amount of time answering questions and explaining in detail some of the unique issues with our home. He promised to have the updated estimate back the next day. However, I did have to follow up with him to receive it a few days later - which was not a problem for me and may have had something to do with getting carpentry material and labor estimates. Estimate appears to be fair based on other estimates I've received. I haven't yet committed to contracting with them but am strongly considering doing so. If I do go with them, I'm very confident, based on their estimate and Angies List reviews, that they'll do a good job.

They arrived on time - they did break a towel rod, but deducted amount from the overall amount due.

They were pleasant and prompt in arriving and delivering the bid. It was a bit of a hard choice, but based on a personal recommendation, we ended up working with another company. If I were needing painting work done again in the future, I would certainly contact them for a bid.

They did everything the way that I expected them to.

Punctual, professional service. However, I think my bill would have been considerablly lower had their worker been carefull in removing the wallpaper border in my bathroom. Pulling the border off also pulled drywall tape off at the corner of the ceiling, whch necessitated drywall and ceiling plaster repair. This turned what should have been a 6 hour job into a 10 hour job. But they they did excellent repair work. Next time however, I'll get a price for the job and not pay by the hour.

The job was started within one week from our hiring them. They arrived on time to begin work. We provided them with the colors and paint brand. They asked us what kind of paint finish we wanted. When we were not able to respond quickly the painters said that they would go with what most people use for a bathroom. The work was done within 2 days including the removal of the wallpaper, prep the wall surfaces, and painting with 2 coats. The painters picked up after themselves each day. The day after they finished the job I noticed that there were 2 chips in the sink/countertop. Mr FIne came out and acknowledged they had damaged the surface and agreed to pay for us to replace the sink/countertop. Within 2 months the paint on the bathroom ceiling began to bubble and peel. We called them and they agreed to come out and touch up which they did within a few days. They said because of the glue on the wallpaper that can happen. Three months later the ceiling was peeling again and the walls and trim also began to peel. The painters returned again to touch up the paint and this time they changed the paint finish to a glossy from flat. The paint has been fine since (after 5 months). Overall they picked up after themselves but left considerable dust which was created by the electric sanders used after removing the wallpaper.

We had a very good experience. They were very professional, and they cleaned up after themselves. The office called back after they were finished to make sure we were satisfied.

Each time he does a good job. I continue to use them, and I don?t have to wait long for a response. They show up within a week for small jobs and within a month for large jobs. Their prices are good, and I have been happy with them.

Two painters began in the morning and completed the project in one day, two coats on everything. I used no-VOC paint and there was virtually no odor. The painters were efficient, polite, clean and effective. We did not have to spend a night out of our bedroom. It looks great.

Fine was responsive and knowledgable throughout, starting with helpful suggestions when putting together the detailed quote. Pricing was comparable to another quote we received. The work was completed quickly with as little disruption in the house as possible. The crew was friendly, clean and punctual. The quality of the prep work and painting is extremely good! We are thoroughly satisfied and recommend them without any hesitation.

They were terrible. They did a horrible job. We had to have it done again by someone else. He just would not mix it right. His wife came and did some work. She was his assistant but she did not do a very good job either.

Fine Painting gave us an estimate in May of $475. We chose to wait to have our rooms painted because we decided we did not have the money to spend at the time, having just bought/moved into our new house. Fine Painting sent us a letter for a discount before Thanksgiving as this is their slow time, I'm sure. They offered double the normal Angie's List discount! We chose to go ahead and schedule the service. They were able to get to our house the following Monday. The painters were clean, and very punctual. They worked very hard repairing nail holes, pops, etc. They repaired so much the job ended up taking more than 1 day. They finished all but the entry way and stairwell, promising to return the next morning to finish. They arrived again promptly on time, and finished within 2 hours! The house looks great; I couldn't be happier with the service. The bill arrived, and they gave us WAY more of a discount than we thought! The $475 original estimate turned into $315! They gave us $160 off their services total. The next time I need painting/wall work done, I'm calling Fine Painting, and you should too!

It went extremely well! The quality was very high, the prices were reasonable compared to others, and they were on schedule and were able complete the work in a short time period.

They were very professional and prompt. The estimate was right on target. The work was very well done.

David Fine came out and gave an estimate. Once we accepted, they were able to work us in before the cold weather hit. They power washed the house, scraped loose paint, and primed and painted all paintable surfaces and trim. We also had them paint the gutters. Condensation caused the paint to drip from the gutters. They came back out and repainted them and cleaned up any drippage. They began painting on Nov 11 and finished Nov 29 or so. They worked most days that were warm enough to paint, even weekends (they asked if that was ok first). There were two painters that worked on our house. They were very professional and pleasant and did a beautiful job. I would definitely recommend them!

They did an okay job, but they were terribly overpriced. They had two crews to do all of the work. One crew who did the work on the inside of my home and one crew who did the work on the outside of my home. Their punctuality was good and their quality was good. There was a problem with one of the doors that they said they would not paint, because it had not been painted before. They ended up fixing the woodwork trim and painted the door. I thought that the quality was good, but it seemed to me that they were quite expensive. The exterior crew missed a couple of spots and I had to go back and repair that. There was a lot of over spray on the back windows and french doors. We did not complain about the smaller problems although we probably should have. I would not use them again in the future.

Jack and Mike cleaned up as they went along; which is very impressive in my book. On the last day Jack and Mike had to deal with movers and they were absoutely accommodating. They deserve a raise. I look forward to my next job with them.

We were impressed with the thorough preparation. The front gable involved two colors and the work was very neat. They did a good job of matching the original colors. They also did a good job of follow-up after the work was completed.

Went very well. Company rep scheduled a time to reveiw the job on my first call. Arrived on time. Provided suggestions for repairs that other companies did not. Proposed a repari, prime and paint plan instead of just paint. Sent the company bid in email and kept in contact with me during the whole project via email. Finishe project in reasonable time in spite of persistent rainy days. Every one of the contractors who worked on the project were friendly, polite, and professional. I highly recommend this company.

I had time pressure and they completed the work on time. There was a small bubble in the plaster but I did not bother to call them back. They did a very good job and I was satisfied with their service.

It only took a day to do the carpentry work and then another day to do the actual painting of the trim, shutters, and doors. I like the painting quality, but I had problems with the carpentry work. When I went to put my screens back in, I discovered that I had problems with the screens on the upstairs 2 bedrooms. I had to actually scrape the paint off to force them back in so I contacted Fine Painting. These were windows that had carpentry work performed on them. They said they would be out in the next few days. That did not happen so I called back and finally the carpenter got a hold of me and came back out. He looked at my windows and decided a plan of action and didn't have time to do anything so he made plans to come back within the week. Once again, he didn't come back so I had to contact Fine Painting again. By the time he came back out this next time, the wood was rotting between what he fixed and my old wood (it was August now). He replaced the rotting wood with wood putty. I was told that it needed to dry for a few days before sanding and painting and that he would return to do that. It was determined that I could fit all of the screens (3 out of 4) in, but one. He took that one screen to shorten it. He never returned. I waited over a month so I contacted Fine painting again. I ended up doing the sanding and painting of the sills myself. When I told Fine Painting that I was just wanting my screen back, they told me that the carpenter was on vacation and would ask for it upon his return. I waited for 2 weeks after his vacation and contacted them again. We finally received our screen back, but it was not shortened. This is in November. I did receive a call from Bob Fine apologizing for not following up every time I contacted them which was several times. I felt like they had their money so I was no longer a concern for them. I even have more painting jobs to do around my house and I will now have to find another painter.
