Description of Work: I have purchased a Big Deal from Service Experts for a furnace tune-up.

Description of Work: I had a badly leaking hot water heater that caused water damage. The hot water heater is located behind the refrigerator so I could not see what was happening. I called Service Experts Plumbing on Saturday and Technician Mike came out on Monday. He pulled out the refrigerator, saw the problem, turned off the water and removed the hot water heater. He advised me to call my insurance company and also a restoration company. He recommended a restoration company and called them for me. After the restoration company removed the old floor which had mold, dried out the whole area, and rebuilt a new floor, Mike came back and installed the new hot water heater. He temporarily stored the old hot water heater in the garage in case my insurance claims representative wanted to see it, but then removed it on the day he installed the new hot water heater. I think plumbing services in general are very expensive; however, Mike was cheerful and very helpful to me.

Description of Work: I have been a customer for many years and have a service contract for my air conditioning and furnace. When I called to make an appointment for my spring service they had nothing available for over 2 months (mid June). I had to reschedule and now they say they have nothing available until mid July, which makes the service rather pointless so I didn't make an appointment. I have never had this type of problem before but they are either woefully understaffed and/or are taking their long time customers for granted. I will go elsewhere.

Description of Work: Initially, I hired them to check my son’s furnace when he purchased a new home. The technician was so nice and helpful. It ended up being a very simple fix, and he explained everything to my son.

Description of Work: Gabe came on time, in fact earlier (he called), and checked the air conditioner and serviced it.

Description of Work: Our air conditioner broke down. Just to show up and "diagnose it" (meaning telling me that I needed an entirely new A/C for $10,000) and install a part it turns out we didn't even need, they charged $676.00. I paid by credit card but at that moment, vowed to not use them again. Then, in May, when I went to pay my credit card statement bill, I saw that they charged me the $676.00 twice. I spent the next 6 six weeks calling them and going back and forth and they continued to deny that they had charged me twice. I faxed them a copy of my credit card statement showing both of the charges and the girl there told me she couldn't "see" the double charge on "her end". At that point, I gave up and filed a chargeback for $676 and let American Express handle it. Then, a few weeks later, the woman from billing called me and said she needed my credit card number, 4 digit security code, and expiration date in order to "put the funds back on my card" because she somehow miraculously "found" the double charge. She called with this request 3 times. I checked with American Express which told me the funds had already been charged back to them back when I filed the chargeback. The whole thing began to sound very shady and American Express told me not to return her phone call or give her any information, of course. Then, out of no where, in OCTOBER, I began receiving collection agency letters claiming that The "Service Experts" had put me in not one but 3 different collection agencies for $676.00. I have now called them and left messages 6 times and so has American Express and they have not responded in any way shape or form BUT, I continue to receive collection agency letters.

Description of Work: We have depended on Service Experts (previously Broad Ripple Heating and A/C and Village Plumbing) for many years, mainly for service and repair to our furnace and a/c, but also for plumbing and duct cleaning. The technicians are knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, reliably prompt and courteous. The sad thing is that the customer service people are goofy and incompetent. It appears they are working from scripts and do not use their brains. They have trouble understanding the basic services we're requesting. They call back repeatedly, disrupting my work, to confirm and then reconfirm appointments, sometimes with incorrect information. We always pay at the time the service is performed. However, they billed us after the last service they performed. In addition to the fact that we'd already paid, their bill showed the wrong date and charge. I e-mailed and called to make sure they didn't show us as owing anything and it took quite awhile to get a response, which ultimately was goofy and inspired no confidence. We continued to try to work with them because we are always happy with the actual work done. This week we called to schedule a plumber for replacement of a shower head and repair of a leaky faucet -- non-emergency work. The person on the phone said they could send a technician out that evening. I said that would be great. There was no mention that evening services cost more. When the technician called, he clearly was expecting an emergency. I asked about whether there would be an extra charge and he said yes. At that point I thanked him and said I'd schedule later. I decided we were done with Service Experts and scheduled another plumber.

Description of Work: Had a technitiancome out since the outside unit was not functioning. He traced it to a capacitor. Unit worked after that. since then, i called them for another problem (thermostat not working). They would send a tech in a few days. Not satisfied i called airtron who installed the unit. They sent a tech right away. Fixed awire chaffing problemcausing a short relater to the capasitor NOT being installed properly! It was just hanging by the wires not being supported by anything. And they discarted the old part inside the unit. Its been a year and the capacitor is bad and after telling me ots covered u.der warranty fora year now thestory is only 6 months. Wouldnt even talk about the bad workmanship that caused the whole problem. i would not recomend this company to anyone!.

Description of Work: Service experts originally repaired my a/c in early April. The unit was stuck on continually due to a power surge. The repair was $380. One month later the problem returned. Called and was told it would be 6 days to receive service. After complaining they agreed to come that day. When they returned they sold my wife a new thermostat for $125. The problem was not repaired. I called a different heating and air company. They found the original repairs causing a short in the electrical system . The poor craftsmanship caused the original part(contactor) to freeze shut again. The a/c was stuck running constantly. After paying another$380 I called Mark the manager at service experts and asked for a refund of the originalparts and labor and thermostat refunded and my original reinstalled. Mark agreed to refund my money and refund moneys I had payed for a service contract I was cancelling. I have been calling and leaving messages for Mark and Lisa(she's incharge of refunds) with no returned calls as of yet. I have yet to receive my refund after waiting8 weeks. I of course didn't get a 60day grace period to pay for my repairs.

Description of Work: Andy and the Village Plumbing crew did a great job with our kitchen remodel. They even alerted us to issues with our mechanical room. We appreciated the fact that we were given options with the pricing as well as the pros and cons of each. It helped us to make decisions which were best for our situation. Andy worked us into the schedule so we could have running water in our kitchen before the weekend. It was such a blessing. Thank you Village Plumbing!

Description of Work: My furnace quite working, so I called Broad Ripple Heating because they installed 10 years ago. They were able to fit me in first thing the next day. The technician, Matt Holton arrived on time to diagnose the problem. He found that the motor quite working. He had the part and the motor replaced with in an hour! The service was great and they also accepted competitors coupons.

Description of Work: I had to get my water heater replaced unexpectedly after a big leak. I called on a Friday morning and they were out that afternoon. The tech was very professional, called in 2 other guys to help and were done by 6p on a Friday afternoon. My home is an older one. Over time as things have been replaced, I've found some things don't quite meet current code standards. Sure enough, there were a few adjustments which needed to be made to meet new code with the current water heater set up. I don't think they were the least expensive, but definitely felt the quality was worth the cost.

Description of Work: Sylvesters came out after we had several estimates. Some estimates were as high as $600 more for a similar product. We received a new Lennox air conditioner on a day that worked for us to be installed. They spent a long time measuring the house and counting our windows to make sure we received the correct size unit for our home. We did not want to have to pay for a unit that was too big or too small for our home. They fininshed the job in 1 morning with no problems. We have a very competitive warranty on both labor and the unit. I have to say the warranty is better than many other companies. We are nice and cool. Very friendly and efficient. I am very pleased overall. We also upgraded to a programmable thermostat which was a nice way to save money.
