American Mattress

I purchased a mattress from American Mattress.  We had to return three mattresses because they kept breaking down within a few months.  It was under warranty so we tried a couple others.  American Mattress would not work with us, Serta ended up giving us our money back so we could go somewhere else.

On Aug. 22, 2011  I purchased a mattress and box spring from American Mattress on the east side of Indianapolis. The manager, Chris Summers, told me someone would contact me regarding delivery.  It is now September, and no one will return my calls, neither the local store or corporate offices in  Rolling Meadow, IL or Houston, TX.

This company has cheated me out of $1,191.34. All the phone numbers are for message-taking only, so they can ignore me. The local store already has their payment.

I wouldn't suggest this store to my worst enemy.

They didn't try to push me into a more expensive model, which I appreciated. They delivered the mattress, put together the bed frame, and removed all the packaging. The manager called to follow up the next day to ensure I was satisfied with the delivery. They also honored tempurpedic's online specials.

Store reps. were friendly and helpful, not pushy; and patient with arranging method of payment. Had a bit of a problem with delivery. We hadn't heard from them toward the end of the delivery "window" they gave us so I called them. He said he was just about to call to tell me that they weren't coming - the driver had dropped the box containing the frame and it was damaged. Additional bad news was that it was the last one they had in stock. So he offered choices of compensation if we were willing to accept the floor model which we did. The following week they made the delivery, but the drivers didn't call 30 minutes in advance as they'd promised - fortunately I was home to receive delivery.
