The delivery people were fine. The sales person Judith or "Judy" was not. When I bought the furniture, she said that they were having a sale the next day so she would knock off $290 + tax. She said that the sectional that I bought was also going on sale in 2 weeks. She said she would knock another $200 when the sale was happening in two weeks. I checked my balance on August 7 after the July 28 the reduction was supposed to occur. I called and "Judy" said that she would take care of it. I trusted that she would. I waited the two weeks when the second savings was supposed to occur around August 10. When I checked my balance, the $290 +tax still had not been credited. I talked to Judith again who said that she was "taking care of it." I talked to the manager, James, on August 21. He said that the savings should be off and I can check it that August 23 to make sure that it was done. It still wasn't done. August 23 I spoke to my sales person Judith. I informed her that I was very upset and this needed to get done. She said she was doing it right then. Apparently right then meant a week later. I talked to James the manager again on September 2. He claims that Judith had done the adjustment on September 1. He said that he would call the and double check everything on September 3. I told him if it wasn't done that I would stand over someone and watch them do it!! Fun :-)
Description of Work: Delivery was contracted out. Sofa Mart only gave the delivery people my work phone number and delivery was on Saturday. I was not at work.

I bought several pieces of furniture from these guys and have had nothing but trouble. My reclining theatre seats broke numerous times and even with the "extended warranty" that I'd purchased getting calls returned, appointments scheduled and parts ordered was a joke. After a huge hassle, they finally agreed to refund my money, and I ended up buying much nicer seats online for several hundred dollars less. I'd also purchased a sectional, recliner and a large beanbag, and quality has been inferior on about everything. The sectional basically fell apart within a couple of years, and we ended up taking all of the filling out of the beanbag and paying a local guy to restitch the whole thing. Poor quality and consistent hassles getting anything resolved is what you can expect here.

I have browsed several times in Sofa Mart and liked the place. It is roomy and there are so many sofas, most arranged in home-like groupings so you can picture what they would look like in a home. They have good prices and will also match competitors. They also usually have discounts if you buy several items in a grouping. They had delivery and the salesmen were friendly and polite.
Description of Work: We purchased two sofas and an ottoman here this summer.
