"We will be in touch with this homeowner to see what we can do to improve this rating. We are honestly surprised because many things noted on this review we were not aware of. After final payment was made we felt all issues had been addressed. We looked over the floor with the homeowner, who went through the home feeling edges, pointing out areas he wanted smoothed out or fixed. There were many edges that had inset metal transitions between the wood and ceramic tile. These areas could not be flat sanded with a machine because it would cause sparks.. So, we attempted to flatten by hand sanding, which, the appearance would not be as flat and smooth as areas where a machine could be used, since the homeowner did not want the metal damaged. Even if we were able to sand the edges flat, the metal would then be exposed, unsightly, and a possible trip harzard. We even agreed to completely paint trim and gave the homeowner an extra coat of finish. We thought we had satisfactorily addressed the issues. However, we were asked to return days later to address additional issues the homeowner felt was needed and we did return. We fixed the issues and the homeowner appeared pleased. Honestly, it is worth mentioning....lighting was a major issue with this project. It is extremely important when refinishing floors for proper lighting to be provided. Improper lighting makes it very difficult to see areas where more work may be needed. We made the homeowner aware of the problem with lighting during refinishing, but there was no remedy applied. One to two low voltage bulbs in a 80-100 sq.ft. area is not sufficient. Improper lighting creates shadows which tend to move as the day progresses, and makes it difficult to see, especially on particularly overcast days. Installed lighting is the responsibility of the homeowner. We feel we did the best we could under the circumstances. However, we will be more vigilant in the future to make sure our homeowners are aware of the seriousness of proper lighting and other issues that may present difficulties and affect the outcome. We will make attempt to satisfy this homeowner."
"We are saddened at this review. We work hard to have good results. We offered to redo the entire job and repaint, but no response from the homeowner. We hope those reading this can balance the malice intended in this rating with the many years of service and consistent ratings we have received from our homeowners and discern that something was amiss with this project. The initial service was beautifully performed and we have the pictures to prove it. Although there are some true statements by the homeowner, there are other statements designed to maliciously misrepresent us. However we will not criticize our homeowner or justify mistakes."
"Finished the threshold install. Job complete."
