These guys are awesome. I normally sharpen my own blade, but I could not get the blade of the mower. It seemed to be stripped or something. I'm thinking no matter who I take it to, they are going to charge an arm and a leg to replace everything. They were able to accommodate me at the last minute and I was able to come back after an hour or so. This was greatly appreciated since they were very booked, but fit me in for a quick turn around since I lived 40 minutes away and didn't want to make a long round trip. They used a air ratchet to remove the blade and did a great job sharpening it. I half expected them to say I needed a new this, that and the other thing! These guys are the real deal: honest, freindly, and good at what they do.

For $20 they checked out the mower, sharpened the blades, and replaced the air filter and gas cap. They were professional on the phone and at drop-off and pick-up. They repaired it within the agreed upon time frame and called me when it was completed.

This place is very hard to find. Although the address indicates a street location, it's actually located in an alley way with a street name. Both the owner and his helper were very professional in their dealings with me. They explained what they had to do and that the job would take 2 to 3 weeks. After 4 weeks and having received no call indicating completion, I called and was told it would be ready in 2 days. When I picked up the repaired piece I was informed they would no longer be doing this kind of repair. I was very satisfied with the work done and would not hesitate to take any piece of lawncare equipment to them for service.

I typically drop off my item to be serviced on a Saturday. You should plan on a 1 week turnaround on getting your equipment back, 2 weeks if parts need to be ordered. However make sure you call before to see if it is ready before stopping by. He is reliable and I have had good experience with the quality of work that has been done. Mower is cleaned with power washer before being picked up.

Mower: I was disappointed that they did not clean the mower even though the receipt said that they had.
String trimmer: I was very disappointed that they did not re-string the trimmer, even though the receipt said they did. They just left the small amount of string that I had tried to install. I was hoping they would re-do what I had done so that the string would self-feed as it should - I can never get the string on there just right! Also, as on the mower, they did not clean the trimmer although the receipt said they did.
Blower: Overall good job. Again, did not clean, but it was not that dirty to begin with.
Service on trimmer and blower took MUCH LONGER than they originally quoted. They originally said a week and a half to two weeks for everything. I got the mower back in a week and a half. The trimmer and blower was more like three weeks. That would be fine had the things mentioend above also been done!

We took it to them. The delivery time versus how long they said it was going to be was longer. I think their pricing was pretty fair.

All we wanted was a blade sharpening and routine maintenance. We first went with them in the spring of 2010 and had problems at that time, which should have warned us off. Once we got the mower back, it simply did not run as it used to. It no longer mulched efficiently and I suspected that they short-changed us on the blade sharpening. The mower also would stop running at times, more difficult to start, etc. We had to have them look at it multiple times and they claimed all was well. Not only that, they also claimed a wheel was broken, and that they had to replace it. So - a week after getting the mower back after the wheel replacement, the wheel fell off! So out they come yet again, to replace the wheel.

Comes Spring 2011 - and we debated whether to use these people again. We decided to give them one more try as they were within walking distance. HUGE MISTAKE! The exact same problems all over, long drawn out process, evasive answers and excuses on the phone as to the return date, which prompted us to go there in person and demand an answer; and unbelievably, yet another claim that a wheel was broken. And guess what? After replacing the wheel, it fell off yet again!

In short - these people define incompetence and poor customer service. They took a perfectly operational lawn mower and turned it into junk. Not only did we waste our money with the repairs we now are looking at purchasing a new mower.

I would strongly urge caution before anyone considers using these people.

The price was fair for the work that needed to be done. The length of time it took to have the mower repaired was unacceptable. Although the staff is courteous, they did not return calls as promised. They did not even start to repair the mower on the promised day(s), and the delay in ordering parts (not the delay in the part delivery) extended the length of time I was without my mower. What I was told would be a couple day job turned into a 3 week job. When I picked up the mower for the first time, I was told it was ready, but then a cable broke when they were putting it back together, so that needed to be replaced, and I left without the mower. When I picked it up the next day , it wasn't in running condition. The self-propelled mechanism had been disengaged, and another delay occurred. I suggest that if you use this company, you must make daily phone calls and/or visits to check on the status of your mower repair.

I took the lawnmower in to have a wheel bracket welded. On Angie's List, there was (and still is) a coupon for a free blade sharpening, so I printed it and took it along with my lawnmower on 7/6/11.
Mr. Johnson asked for a $30 deposit whch I gave him; said it helps to have customers come get their equipment; the timing was 4-5 days. I was called 8 days later and told the charges were $20, so I promptly went over to pick up the lawnmower.
Upon inquiring about the $20 balance due on the invoice, I asked if the $20 was the balance over the initial $30 deposit or if the $20 was the total, meaning that I'd should be getting a net $10 in return. The college boy inquired to Mr. Jonson and came back with a new story: $20 for the weld and $10 for the blade sharpening. A NEW invoice was printed showing the $30.
The transaction shows a lack of good accounting records showing the initial $30 deposit paid and a lack of honoring the free blade sharpening coupon which was stapled to the original order.
Nope, Johnson's has lost me as a customer and I was looking for a good lawnmower repair service - I drove 20 miles to get there... and the wheel was welded on crooked.
Let the buyer beware!

My lawn mower isn't working and I have taken it in to Johnson's. They keep telling me that nothing is wrong. They say that the mower works for them. They are very nasty with me. I talked to the owner on the phone and he passed the phone to Brian the chief mechanic. He asked if I wanted a refund and I said yes. He then said, and quot;Your not going to get it.and quot; They are pretty much acusing me of lying. They had the lawnmower for a month and never called to say it was done!

They have no customer service. I couldn't believe how they treated me. I had used them in the past before and it was fine.

I called to see if they could get me in. The lady who answered the phone (Mrs. Johnson) was very pleasant. She went and conveyed my issue to the shop and then came back and invited me to stop in as soon as possible. I brought my mover to them about 20 minutes later. They were working on all types and sizes of push and riding mowers. One of the young men in the shop took an air wrench to the bolts, but could not get them to budge. Mr. Johnson finally gave it a try and faired no better. After that I think it became a challenge to Mr. Johnson to get the bolts off. He ended up grinding them off and replacing them with new ones. It took about 20 minutes. They got me in on the spur of the moment, yet no one in the shop seemed put out of annoyed by the interuption. The 2 young men and Mr. Johnson were exceptionally helpful and friendly. They help load my mower back into my trucki and thanked me for coming. I will use them again and have already recommended them to other AL member and friends.

Quality of work was good and price was good. Returning phone calls and completeing work when they said it would be done, bad. Would still recommend only because of price and work. just be prepared to wait and not get called back.

It went well. The mower was picked up a day or two after I called. It was serviced and returned to me in a timely manner.
