 + 0 moreI have been a member at FORUM for many years, but this was the first mortgage we purchased from them. Could not have been smoother! What was even better, they were cheaper than the best I could find on the internet. Make sure you compare apples to apples when shopping for a mortgage - don't let the companies try to sell you a payment (as did many we talked to) FORUM broke out their closing costs, external fees, points on the loan (if you choose to buy a lower rate) and they were honest and exact. Closing was a breeze and they met at the branch closest to us in Noblesville. Highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreSee above, total nightmare. We are educated professional and have never felt so taken advantage of. We are certain this information was never relayed to us, yet we are stuck with the $1200 of charges that were never agreed at the time of signing.
Description of Work: I got a loan for 2 vehicles, one in April and the other a couple of months later. My husband was present for both of the loans. The process was very fast. The sales person asked about how much we could afford per month to figure out how months we would need the loans. She seemed very nice, talking about her wedding, and our new house, etc. I did notice the attention to detail was not there, when the contract has my previous old name. When I brought it to her attention she said just sign. She reviewed the loan amount, percentage rate and total of loan when paid off. I never got a payment book, just got a call from collections. I had to go in 3 times to get payment coupons sent. I finally had to just to direct withdraw. Months later I found out that both loans have special insurance in case one of us becomes disabled or dies they will pay our car payment. This was never brought to our attention. They have a scanned document where I signed this page, it was never given to me. I asked for the original because this document could be altered and they did not have one to give me. Over $1200 spent in about 6 months. Since the car payment was the same as the loan officer told me, there was no reason to question. They sent out quarterly statements and it had a separate part for insurance, so I called to question. My mom had a similar issue with Forum, they illegally charged her for no proof of insurance, but never notified her that they did not have it. She had provided at time of the loan, yet they did not ever call to say this was needed. We have spoken to several high ups about this issue and none of them will help, or offer anything about this. This is a total scam and we are taking this to the OCC, better business bureau, angie's list and everyone that will listen.

 + -1 moreI like to pay two payments at a time; to me it's like an installment loan. When I borrowed the money they told me that even if I was paid a year ahead, if a month came that I didn't make a payment I would be late because I had to make a payment every month, no matter how much I paid. To me that's counter-productive to installment loans. I feel that if you have a 36 month installment loan and you have paid 13 payments and it's only three months into the loan, it should be considered paid ahead. They said no. I was furious about that.
Description of Work: I go to Forum Credit Union. I was there three weeks ago to borrow some money on a car. They charged me three points.

Description of Work: I belong to the Forum Credit Union. I was there Friday. I was in the drive-thru and I ended up going inside. I was trying to cash a cashier's check from another bank. That was the problem. Cashier's checks are supposed to be good money. It took about 25 minutes to fix my problem.

 + -1 moreWe used them, as we get a better rate on interest for our car payments. The interest on CDs is much better than other banks in the area. If you do miss a bill, or write a check w/ insufficent funds, they have a deal where they will give you a loan to cover, which costs a few cents in interest, instead of the $30 plus with many banks. My experience with them has always been great and would always use them for my car payments. They are very friendly and are always willing to help.

When I used to deal with banks, it seems like something always used to come up, but nothing ever does and it's great. There aren't any hidden fees and they're very good about responding to you and calling you back if you leave a personal message. Even if you're not talking to the right department, they're very quick at discerning that and getting you in touch with the right people.
