+ 0 moreThis was the most efficient job we have ever experienced. The guys first put tarps all around the house, over the bushes and deck. They then put plywood against the house to protect any bushes and windows or siding from being scratched or mared. They removed all the old shingles and tar paper and gutters. The new underlayment and shingles were then installed in about a day and a half. The second day was just a small porch roof. There were 6 guys in the crew. The cleaned up at the end of both days that they were here. All were very courteous and answered any questions we had. They used a large magnet to search for any lost nails that might have falled in the grass. They went over the entire area several times. The guys doing the gutters were vey efficient and courteous. It only took about 3 hours to do the gutters and they look very nice. We are very happy with the whole job and would definetly recommed them to our friends and family.
Description of Work: We have a two story home. They removed and replaced all the old roof. Replaced any old or bad plywood. Replaced all new gutters. Added ridge vents.

+ 0 moreWe were looking to replace our roof and were not sure which company to pick. Went to Angie's list to find out one, and this company is also listed there with good reputation. However, there are other companies with good reputation as well - hard to choose. One day, their sales rep (Matthew ?) put a flyer on our door. Decided to email him to find out more information - got a quick response. He came to inspect the roof - he did a very thorough work in his inspection and went through several options.Having been in the business world, I must commend him for his excellent communication and sales strategy. The price was still higher than other competitors, but we felt they could do the work well. We'd rather go with them than looking for another quote, so we had to do some negotiations. We agreed to come to the middle. The following week they came to do the work and with 2 persons crew, they finished everything in 3 days. The crew worked very hard; they arrived and left promptly - cleaned up everything afterward. No loud musics and polite too. Another person came to inspect, to make sure we were satisfied. The gutter was placed properly the following day as well. After everything was done, a day or 2 later we made the final payment. From the day I contacted them via email until the work was done - took only less than 2 weeks. Everything was done to the highest professionalism, we are very satisfied with how they handle from start to finish. I just hope the quality of the roof stands for a long time, which we will not know until much later.

+ 0 moreCompany is very responsive to all communication. Performed a thorough inspection including taking pictures of problems found. A complete explanation of all issues found and of the work to be performed was given. Work was completed in a timely fashion. Crew did a fabulous job of cleanup and protecting flower beds and shrubs from damage. Owner came out to look over final work. He spent a lot of time checking and correcting small items such as removing small pieces of felt paper sticking out behind gutters as well as making sure gutters were secure where they installed the new drip edge. I could not have asked for a better company to work with. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a high quality company that has high level of expectations of their work and stands by their work.
Description of Work: Complete tare off of two layers of shingles, replace necessary wood and install new roof.

+ 1 moreI had Expert Roofing & Basement Waterproofing previously work and repair my roof, and needed work done to repair a couple leaks that had developed over the 20+ years. I had them come out and provide a quote, and a general timeline for the work that needed to be done. Original timeline provided was 3-4 days from start to completion, needless to say I was very impressed and overjoyed when what was supposed to be Day 1 started and they said they would only need 3-4 hours and then the entire project would be done. After completion of the work the exterior of the house lining where the cracks used to be looked as good as new.
Description of Work: Fixed two leaking cracks that had developed over 20+ years of home-ownership in our basement.

The workman cleaned up after themselves daily. I am thoroughly impressed with the workmanship and how this has revived the look of my home after over 20 years of living in this home. This roof should last another 20 plus years.

+ -1 moreAbsolutely perfect.. After having my chimney flashed a few years ago by so called professionals, it started leaking again last year. After checking around I decided to call Expert Roofing. They have a unique system in that they flash and then counter flash (double flash actually) and I never knew that anyone did it that way. I'm confident that it will not leak anymore and of course they guaranteed me that it would not. They did a great job, it looks nice and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of work and materials they used. They were prompt, courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. They cleaned everything up after the work was completed and even used a large magnet to make sure nothing was left behind. I was impressed to say the least. I'm a Senior citizen, been here 27 years and have worked with my share of contractors, plumbers, electricians etc. These guys know what they are doing. I would recommend them highly.

+ 0 moreWe used Expert Roofing to re-roof our house last year and called them right away when it was time to add insulation in the attic to increase our heating and cooling efficiency. They were prompt, the quote was offered to us about 10 minutes after he finished measuring the space and we were put on the schedule to have the work done within a really short time. It only took a few hours (the space they were insulating was about 400 sq. ft.), the materials are high quality, and they cleaned up after they were done. I would highly recommend Expert Roofing if you need to add insulation to your attic. I can tell a big difference, especially during the long stretches of summer heat.

From start to finish we were extremely pleased, with everyone we dealt with from Lee who gave us a very thorough inspection and honest estimate of what we needed. To the work crew who arrived on time and worked quickly, to Eric who did our follow up visit and final cleanup. They replaced the vents that we had talked about and even a couple we hadn't, but they felt were needed. They even replaced a damaged screen and window well cover, that I am pretty sure were damaged by our dogs and not their work crew, all at no extra charge. The tear off, repair work and roof replacement were completed in ONE DAY ! Our roof looks wonderful and they did an excellent job of cleaning up afterward. If it weren't for a new roof, you wouldn't even know they had been there. We would most definitely us them again if we ever needed any of their other services.
Description of Work: They did a complete tear off of our old roof. Replaced a few sheets of plywood, replaced roof vents, removed an old power vent and replaced our roof.

+ -1 moreThe job went as planned. The crew showed up on time. They worked tirelessly until the job was done. The product was delivered without a hitch. The dumpster was delivered and retrieved as scheduled, without maring or scaring of the driveway. Debris was cleared, nails were magnet rolled and even cleared from the dog run. The crew was polite and down to business the entire time they were on site. The owner did the final on roof inspection himself before receiving final payment. He showed us pictures of work done on the roof and of one board that had to be replaced and the wood damage that required the replacement. You couldn't ask for a more thorough job from start to finish. Well done to Eric Walker and the crew from Expert Roofing & Basement Waterproofing!
Description of Work: We hired Expert Roofing & Basement Waterproofing to do our recent re-roofing job. After contacting other roofing contractors we were impressed with their thoroughness and the way in which the company is keeping up to date with industry standards in products and workmanship. The representative showed us all of their credentials in both Indiana and Michigan and with the county Builder's associations and the Better Business Bureau's. We were given ample time to compare grades of materials and specifications, and ultimately chose them because of their confidence, knowledge, readiness to get to work, and the fairness of their price for what they were offering to do for us. They were able to schedule our job within a time frame that worked for us, and completed a superior product installation "on time" in two days from tear down to clean up with no unsightly mess left behind. Despite some untimely rain moments the crew was able, as promised, to finish, and the dumpster was pulled away, as promised, before 10:00 am on the third morning on a two story job with multiple valleys and a two stall garage. The product used was Owens Corning Oakridge Onyx Black Architectural, algea resistant, with new aluminum drip edges, premium underlayment, new chimney flashing, custom metal roof valleys, (and do they look sharp!), and double coverage ridge caps. And best of all is the peace of mind that comes from the owner himself, Eric Walker with "a life time guarantee on all workmanship regardless of what happens." Call whoever you fell that you must, just make Expert Roofing & Basement Waterproofing your last call, you'll be glad you did. They do business just like they live next door to you.

+ -1 moreExpert Roofing provided my first of several estimates. As it turns out, their pricing was around the middle of all of them. However, all of the lower estimates were based on cutting corners that E.R. refused to do. Previous owners had installed a rubber roof over one section of the house. Other companies advised me to just leave it alone. In fact one company even suggested shingling over the rubber, which E.R. absolutely refused to do. E.R. then verified that the pitch on this section was steep enough to support shingling. When they removed the rubber, they discovered several rotted boards that were under the rubber, which was discovered only because of the high standards of the contractor. The crew was not only timely but very diligent, taking great care with their work. One item of note: it turns out that recently replaced skylights were installed incorrectly. E.R. not only re-installed them in order to insure a proper seal, they did not charge extra for this service. Although the job was completed in early June, I waited until we had enough rainfall to verify the water-tightness of the job. Not only does the roof look fantastic, but the house is completely leak free. One more thing: the contractor and the owner were both available to answer questions before, during, and even after installation. They back up their work and clearly take pride in their service!
Description of Work: The roof was just over 30 square. The job involved removing all of the existing shingles including sections that had two layers. I also had them remove the old ventilation system and install ridge venting across the top. They also re-installed two skylights when they discovered that they were improperly installed.

They used extra waterproofing and allotted for higher ice dams than our other bids, but for the same price. Would highly recommend them!
Description of Work: We needed our house re-roofed to match an addition that was finished the previous year. We also needed to address a couple of roof leaks that included the decking underneath the shingles.

Description of Work: This review is on behalf of my aunt and uncle who hired this company. She was so happy with their work that she promised she would tell everyone she could. They showed up when they said they would, took few breaks, and worked until it was finished. The results looked great, and she's confident of having a sound roof for the rest of her lifetime. The owner of the company stopped by frequently to ask if she had any questions or concerns and he was easy to contact when he wasn't there. The crew cleaned up so well that you couldn't tell the yard had been full of old shingles and other debris. The boss even swept the yard afterward with a magnet to collect all the old nails.
