I was somewhat disappointed with them. They left a mess behind. They could have done a much better job of cleaning up and not tearing up the yard. There were big rats in the back yard and their idea of fixing them was just to throw some grass heap on. What the problem is that Erwin himself the arborist wasn’t satisfied with it. It was heap of people that he worked with to do the actual cutting were the ones that I was disappointed with. I would recommend Erwin but not the people that he uses. He is a good arborist and he knows his trees. That part was fine but it was just the people who did the work whom I was disappointed.

They provided a detailed description of how they would handle the tree removal. Reasonable price given the difficult conditions they had to deal with. They showed up early on the day of the tree removal. They were prepared, well equipped and took great care to protect the rest of the property.

The removal of the tree in the back yard was good. The taking down of the tree in front was good. He stated that the estimate did not include the hauling away of the main part of the tree in front. Russell who did he estimate, said hauling away the main part of the tree in front would cost $50.00.. When it came to taking it away Erwin said it was $250.00. He got it. He was not going to trim one of the trees left in the front yard and had to be reminded to do it. He did so reluctantly and did not trim it all. It was part of the estimate. The job taking the stump left a large root sticking out of the ground burried under a lagre pile of ground up stump and dirt. My husband had to remove it later when we were re-seeding and leveling the ground where the tree had been. Erwin just seemed rushed toward the end of the job and wanted to get away fast. His crew was very professional, friendly and paid attention to detail. The owner just seemed distant. We felt he should have honored the price the estimator gave us and didn''t.

Erwin sent a arborist to my home to evaluate the job and gave me several useful tips on how to care other trees on my property. After getting two other estimates, I called Erwin and we set a tentitive date for the tree removal job. Erwin contacted me a few days later to let me know that they're crew would be busy for several days cleaning up storm damage and I would have to wait a little longer before they could do the job. That was no problem with me, but is why I could only give them a "B" for punctuallity. Three or four men showed up and did the whole job very quickly. I was happy with their work. Do's: You can save up to 50% of the job cost if you clean up the site yourself. I contacted a neighbor that burns firewood and we worked togather to cut up the wood and haul it away.

Erwins were busy in the beginning but continued to keep us updated. He kept his appointment and was even 5 minutes early (I don't generally experience that with contractors). He provided the most reasonable/least expensive estimate and is a certified arborist. The company did exactly what they said and did an excellent job in performing the services.

It was expensive. It was great in that they sent out an arborist to check out the trees and give me recommendations. They were extremely professional. They had all the equipment they needed to do some tough jobs. They cleaned up everything nicely. I used them on somebody else?s recommendation and brought them out. I had a good experience with them. The arborist came right away. It was a busy time of the year after a storm, so they came out as soon as they could afterwards.

The quality of their tree trimming work was overall very good. However, the good rating stops there. I called and left two or three messages on the company's voice-mail. Never got a return call. I had written them off and called another company when the next day Russell Hodge, the certified arborist, appears at my door. I was so happy to see him that I forgave the complete lack of notice and communication. Russell told me it would be a few weeks before they could get to my trees and I said that was fine. Then I get a call from the office saying them are sending out a crew the next morning to do the work. That wasn't convenient for me but they said I did not need to be there and truthfully, I felt pressured into letting them come out. I should have been more firm and insisted I be present, so I take responsibility for that error. They came out and did the work and when I got home the trees were trimmed fairly well. Two of the trees I would rate as 'excellent,' but the third tree was left about 80% done. There were visible dead limbs that they had not cut off. I actually could have forgiven that, but I had vines growing up the tree, parts of which they had ripped off and just left the vines sloppily hanging there. They should have followed up and asked if I want those taken down since they had damaged them. Similarly, I had them take out about 10 bushes because they were half dead. They left one of the bushes that was totally dead in the ground. That's the kind of thing that, had I been there, I could have corrected on site. Worse yet, they damaged my lawn with their equipment. In spite of all this, I still would have been good with them if they would have followed up with a phone call, asked what I thought of their work and either offered to come back and take out the one dead bush they missed, clean up the vines, give me a small credit, or something. But they took my money and that was it.

They were very prompt. They sent out a tree expert to asses the situation and let us know what we could and could not do. They did a really good job and worked quickly.

The entire experience was above and beyond what I expected. Russ, the arborist, came out and evaluated the trees and provided an estimate. He spent almost 45 minutes talking about the cottonwoods and the variety of trees I could get to replace them. He even looked at a couple of other trees on my property and gave me tips on them. Once we decided to hire them the crew came out about 9 days later, with a day's notice. They cut down the 40ft trees, removed them and left only the mulch from the ground stumps. They were even mindful of some plants I had growing nearby and waved to my kids who were watching while they worked. From beginning to end everyone we came into contact with was incredibly competent, professional and friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or recommend them for any tree service job.

I contacted Erwin Tree Service in the fall of 2007 and Russ Hodges (certified Arborist), came to my home and explained in detail what needed to be done. He was very informative and answered all of my questions. The work was done when promised and the tree looks great! I was also very impressed with their clean-up, not a wood chip was left behind. After calling many tree companies in the phone book, Erwins was the first to return my call and come out for a free estimate. The person that came out for the estimate was prompt and knowledgeable. The crew called to let me know they were coming to service the tree (I asked if they could call before they came). They were very skillful at removing the branches and limbs from above my house and my neighbors house. The crew of 5 people worked well together. After they were done trimming the trees, they raked my lawn and blew the leaves etc. off of the roof. The only downside is that my lawn did suffer some grass damage due to the equipment.

Gary and his crew are among the most courteous and professional contractors I've ever used. They are very intelligent, very thorough, and very efficient. They work safely, thoughtfully, and cleaned up immaculately following the work. I've recommended him to three other friends who had the same experience with him.

THIS COMPANY DID GREAT. THEY ARRIVED TO MY HOUSE ON TIME AND THEY GOT RIGHT TO WORK FOR ME. THEY HAD BOTH TREES REMOVED WITH IN A COUPLE OF HOURS AND HAD THE STUMPS GROUND REAL QUICKLY ALSO.

I'D RECOMMEND ERWIN TREE CARE TO ANYONE LOOKING TO GET THEIR TREES CLEANED UP. THEY ARE PROMPT, EFFICIENT AND EXTREMELY DEPENDABLE. THEY CLEAN UP WELL, AND THEY EVEN RAKED THE LAWN WHEN THEY FINISHED.
