They are great! They've done my brakes, oil changes, tune ups, you name it. I've been going to them for almost 20 years. I've always taken my cars to them because I know I can trust them. They don't fix something that doesn't need to be fixed. They explain what was done, will show you the old part if you want to see it and explain how or why it went bad. I won't go anywhere else. When I moved here to Columbus IN in 1998, I didn't know where to go for automotive work. The engineers at Cummins, where I was working at the time, recommended them to me. They stand behind their work. The only vehicle they haven't worked on for me was my RV because unfortunately, it didn't fit in their building.

They do a great job. All of our cars have been in great shape because of them. They are honest and very trustworthy. The price is very reasonable.

One week later I was attempting to get up to speed in the northbound lane of I-65. The power system seemed to be malfunctioning. The car died and I was forced to the side of the road late on a Friday afternoon. I immediately called Norris Auto. They said I should call for a tow and they would not cover the cost, but to call them back if I couldn't get a hold of a tow service. I had a family member come get me and then called Norris again. I tried to request they stand by their work, since a diagnostic had been run (supposedly) the week before. I felt like they should pay for the tow, at least. The shop manager talked over me and wouldn't allow me a chance to even state my case for some assistance with future repairs. I chose to go to another mechanic to have repairs made. I feel I was treated rudely. I think $163 to change a battery is excessive, but if a full diagnostic was run on the car, the charge would be reasonable. However, if a full diagnostic was run then why did the car die accelerating on the highway? The shop manager said, "It is an old car. We can't guarantee an old car won't have multiple problems." Okay, I get that. But if you've run a diagnostic the previous week, then why wouldn't you have discovered any other problems? I know mechanics run diagnostics for people who are purchasing a used car, allowing them to know if the car is worthy of purchase or not. Would a mechanic run a diagnostic assessment of a car, taking the potential owner's money, and then tell him or her they can't guarantee their diagnostic would have caught any significant problems when the car fails one week after purchase? If so, why pay a mechanic to review a potential purchase? Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone.
Description of Work: My 2003 Impala was having problems starting. Norris Auto supposedly ran a diagnostic on the "starting and charging system" that showed the battery was the problem. They installed a new interstate 75 month battery and charged me $163 for the work.

I've used Norris Automotive for ~6 years and Kerry does excellent work on a number of typical auto services. Kerry also will discuss issues with you and is flexible on services he provides. For instance, I've brought in my own new parts before and he's been willing install and just charge the labor. All in all I've found him to be a very competent provider that works well with his customers.
Description of Work: Kerry has done excellent work in a number of areas on my vehicles including A/C, wheel bearings, etc.

I've used Norris several times for auto repair work. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and always more than fair. They will tell you if a job is not worth doing, and will give multiple options for getting your car back on the road - a cheap, fast repair, or a full overhaul job. I've taken imports and domestics there.
Description of Work: Recharge A/C, diagnose noise, drain/refill differential fluid, diagnose and repair misfire (dirty spark plug), replace ignition system components, adjust TV cable on carburetor
