I purchased a 6 piece baby room furniture set. I ordered just before Christmas 2007, and it was suppose to be delivered by April. I didn't get the furniture until a week before my due date (last week of May), and I wouldn't have got it that soon if I didn't call them. They never called me to tell me the furniture was in! Their crew set the furniture up, and that day I noticed a spot on the inside back rail. I ran a fingernail over it thinking that it was something on the bed and when I did that the paint flaked off. I couldn't use it for fear that the paint would fall on my son, which within days it was flaking off on its own! Then I told them about it and they wanted to give me touch up paint, as if the paint was going to stop pealing and the touch up paint would make it like new. After about 2 weeks, they finally told me that they would order a replacement. This was June of 2008, and by August and several phone calls and then stopping by their store to show them my flaking paint they said that they had the part. No phone calls to tell me it was in!! Then 2 weeks later, they came out with the replacement. The guys put the part on, and was getting ready to leave when I went to the room to check it. Then the next issue....a dent on the top rail of the replacement!! They never said a word to me until I told them! Here it is December and 30+ phone calls later and not until I called them did I find out that the 2nd replacement was in. On that phone call I had to tell them paint was falling off the dresser now! This was worst experience and the largest waste of money on what I thought was safe and quality furniture for our son! I'm not even done. The second head board arrives this Friday and they are suppose to look at the paint issue on the dresser.

We ended up purchasing a furniture set that was not yet on display in the store. They had pictures and we were told that it was similar to another model in the store, but more sturdy. We were told that the order would arrive in 6-8 weeks. Our order didn't arrive for over 5 1/2 months. They ended up giving us free delivery to compensate us for the delay in receiving our order.

We ordered the furniture in May and we still have not received it as of October 14, 2008. The original furniture we ordered has not been delivered and they stated that they might not get it from the company. They changed the order to what we had originally requested and they stated again that this company might not work with them as well. The only reason we won't go anywhere else is because we can not find the quality of furniture anywhere else.

Although I was assured the items I ordered would arrive in 10-12 weeks, plenty of time for my baby's delivery, it is now July 11, 2008 and the dresser/changing table has STILL to arrive. It will not be here by my due date on July 16 and all items were ordered on 3/27/2008. USA baby has had numerous excuses for the various delays, but the bottom line is that they cannot deliver on their promises. Granted the staff seems knowledgeable, everyone is friendly, and the furniture is beautiful (if expensive), but that's not much consolation when you pay as much money as I did for such poor service. I definitely would look elsewhere to purchase nursery furniture if you want to receive it in a reasonable time frame. Alternatively, you need order your furniture in your first trimester. Maybe then USA baby could manage to get your items to you before your baby arrives! Extremely disappointed.

Horrible experience.
Description of Work: On January 8th, 2007, I ordered adult rails to convert my daughter's crib into a full size bed. It is now October 2nd, 2007, and I still do not have my rails. I was told initially that it would take 6-8 weeks for my order to arrive. I called on March 26th, 2007 and was told the order was delayed until April or May. Then, I called on May 8th, 2007 and they said the order would arrive the end of May. USA baby gave me a "USED LONER" set the end of May since the order was again delayed until June. I called again in June and they said the rails would arrive in September and they would deliver them free of charge. I still do not have my rails and I am severely annoyed. I have my original receipt which shows all the documentation.

I'm very pleased with the furniture I selected quality wise, but the order time was way too long. When we started looking for baby furniture, this store had the best set-up to see the furniture. I liked the aisles instead of a mess of furniture set up in an open space. The store could use a bigger space, but it still makes good use of the space it has. Ordering was fairly easy, and the sales staff was helpful. However, delivery times are way too long. We had to wait 12 weeks for one piece of furniture, and my baby was here before the furniture was. I thought this was an inordinate amount of time. The salespeople did tell us it would take this long, but I wanted the matching pieces, and we'd waited not thinking it would take so long. I would recommend trying to catch sales; the store seems to have quite a few sales. I ended up spending more than I anticipated, but this furniture is really solid, much better than the cheaper stuff I looked at.

The quality of furniture at USA Baby was so much better than I had anticipated. My reading on the web about USA Baby had me reluctant to purchase from them, but they are a franchise not closely related to other USA Baby stores throughout the country. The sales staff was very helpful and honest about which products would have delayed delivery before ordering. Our furniture arrived ahead of the scheduled time. There was minor damage to the furniture in the form of the manufacturer's stain not even in spot (a known problem with this brand of furniture). USA Baby immediately worked with a local refinisher to have the product looking perfect. We were very pleased with their outstanding customer service.
