My husband stopped in to order some flowers to be sent to me for our 10th wedding anniversary. We are new to the area so he stopped in to order them (sight unseen) and had the florist deliver them to me. They were very pretty and beautifully done, but outrageously overpriced. When my husband got home later in the evening and saw what he had paid for.....he was shocked! I am appreciative of his surprise to me, but embarrassed that he was kind of disappointed in his purchase considering how much he paid for them. We will not be using them in the future for any other florist needs.

Hello, [Member name removed]. My name is Kristine, the owner and designer at The Carmel Florist. I am new to Angie's List, so I hope this message finds its way to you. First, I want to thank you for your comments that your arrangement was "very pretty and beautifully done"...I make it my goal to make each arrangement unique and lovely. Secondly, I am very distressed to know of your displeasure regarding its cost and would like to clarify some details. After I received notice of your review, I immediately pulled the order to see the details. The arrangement was a $55.00 design, not a $70.00. If you had the impression that the arrangement was $70, then it is no wonder that you were unhappy. There is a delivery fee and sales tax added to orders that is unrelated to the cost of the arrangement. Your specific delivery fee was $10.50 and the sales tax was $4.59...total cost $70.09. I assure you that I track each item, labor and supply cost that is involved in orders. Giving my customers full value is (and often beyond) is among my top priorities...the others being beautiful presentation and superior customer service. With that point, I truly wish you would have contacted me directly at the time of delivery with your concerns. I would have been more than happy to go over the order details and make certain that you were happy before we hung up the phone. I would have brought you a different arrangement, given you a store credit, etc...whatever you felt you were owed. It is so very rare that I have a dissatisfied customer that I don't have a specific protocol for such times. I would rather ask my customer what he/she feels is the fair resolution. I am still completely open to discussing this and making arrangements to redeem the situation. If I do not hear from you within the next few days, I will contact you by other means in hopes to discuss this. My business is a small owner-operated and family-run business that is a direct reflection of me. I take it very seriously. I, too, read and sometimes give online reviews for businesses and they have value. However, in this case, there are details that needed to be clarified and I wanted to make certain that we were both on the same page. Please contact me at your convenience.
