"This review is misleading. The pants do not look like they have been “shredded”, attacked “with a chain saw” or “buzz saw”. We can verify this with the many pictures we took of the pants. The fabric on the pants in the area of the seat and back pockets was thinned and distressed when we received them. This worn, thin and distressed area on the pockets is in the shape of a rectangle as if there was a wallet or mobile phone in the back pocket and the items had been sat on, thus thinning the fabric. Our manager took photos, consulted with upper management and partners and determined that the thinning fabric was a result of customer wear, not our cleaning process. The customer was upset to hear that we determined the thinning of the fabric to be from the customer wearing the item so we offered to send the pants to the International Textile Analysis Laboratory (http://www.dlionline.org/Garment-Analysis) to be analyzed. We stated that if they determined our cleaning process caused the fabric on the rear pockets to be weak, pilled and thinned, we would take responsibility and settle a claim with our customer. The results determined we were not at fault. We gave a copy of these findings to our customer on December 15, 2014. Our customer was verbally abusive and stated he would “destroy us”. This is word for word the International Textile Analysis Laboratory’s finding: “Findings: Test fail to show evidence of chemical, insect or heat damage, nor is the fabric defective. Microscopic examination reveals a local area stressed and abraded thin and weakened. Explanation: This damage has resulted when this area was subjected to some repeated local stress, rubbing and abrasion while pants were worn. This has locally weakened the fabric, causing it to become pilled and thinner. At some point, when it was subjected to the necessary agitation of the later cleaning cycle, the locally weakened area separated and pulled apart. This damage is not to be associated with any improper cleaning procedures nor is the fabric defective. Conclusion: The damage in the rear of these pants has resulted from circumstances the fabric was exposed to in consumer use”."
