It was an excellent and rapid job. The young man who did the plumbing was named Larry. He tried to do some repair on a cabinet door for us also, it didn't work out but he offered which I thought was very kind.

Larry (from Bedell Plumbing) arrived on time and surveyed the situation. He then used his roto machine to unplug the piping between the sink drain and the 4" main sewer line going out of the house. He ran water for several minutes to assure that the line was clear. He cleaned his work area when he was finished.

Due to the positive Angie's list ratings I called this company to come out and give an estimate on repairing and/or replacing my sump pump. I explained to the gentleman on the phone I didn't know if my main sump pump was out or my battery back up one, he said it was just under $400 for the regular sump pump and just over $2000 for the back up. I told him that was a big price swing, and asked if they could come out to do a free estimate, as they advertise here on Angie's list - he said "we are in the business of making money". I said I needed to know which pump we would need to be replaced before I could authorize any work. He said "well, I gave you the two prices". I would not call this company again. I guess they have the cheapest prices for a reason.

Went very well. The person on the phone was concerned and knowledgeable, conveyed some good information, and promptly dispatched the job. The worker came in about an hour after the dispatch, found the leaks over about and hour and a half of searching, fixed the leaks, and tested the system out. The hourly rate is high - $250/hr. to start, then $150/hr. thereafter, so I was a bit on edge about getting fleeced, but clearly they were honest and worked efficiently.

It was wonderful. The plummer made suggestions that saved a lot of money in the long run. He was very pleasant to work with while still being professional at all times.

They promptly sent out 2 men to look at the job. One of the men, Dave, seemed to be trying to "upsell" the job. He kept asking what kind of tile I wanted them to put on the floor (already tiled) and behind the tub and on the surround. I told him I really just wanted them to remove the old tub, and get the new one in and running. I could do the cosmetic work myself. They left saying they would have an estimate the next day. A week later someone else called saying Jay had asked him to come out and check on the sub-floor. He was concerned about the weight of the new tub. He came out 6 days later and said the floor looked fine and the current tub was heavier than the new one. A few days later I finally had an estimate. $2545 to remove and replace tubs (included replacing the sub-floor with 5/8'' decking which I was told was OK), $500 for electrician (? the tub already has built in mounts and power is already there), $1600 for water heater, $1475 to build front. More than tub!

The plumbing work itself was fine, however it took a very long time for the plumber to find and purchase the appropriate supply lines, during which time I was never able to get an estimate of how much the parts would cost ($269, as it turns out), or what the total cost might be. I would say nearly three-quarters of the total time of four hours was spent on this search, which I was billed for. One of the supply lines had already burst and the others were corroding so I wanted to get the work done quickly. Thus I gave the go-ahead to do the work without getting an estimate, which was a bad move on my part. Nonetheless, I think nearly $700 to replace supply lines to two pedestal sinks is pretty steep.

They also moved my washing machine and were very excellent and professional. They did what they said they were gonna do at a reasonable price and I'd highly recommend them to everyone!

The service was excellent. I called Bedell and they were able to send the plumber the next morning. He arrived very close to the appointed time (maybe 10 minutes late) and was very friendly and professional. He ran the snake through my pipes, ran the water to make sure that the clog was clear, and cleaned up afterward. The whole process took about 50 minutes. The representative on the phone had told me that Bedell charges a flat rate of $105 for cleaning drains, and that's exactly what the plumber charged. I suppose if I had called around, I might have found a less expensive rate, but I am satisfied paying that, given the quality service I received.

They arrived early. Gave me an estimate which was about the same cost that I was quoted over the phone. First he fixed the garbage disposal and then he went into the basement and worked on the pipes downstairs. He knocked over a shelf but replaced all the items. He got sprayed with some waste water but was able to keep is sense of humor.

Job 1: They show up on time. The 1st toilet was repaired quickly, efficiently & works perfectly now. The 2nd toilet repair didn't accomplish the task. Responding to my request for the most economical repair, the plumber simply installed a new flush valve disc, which made the problem much worse. The toilet started kicking on & off. The next day I was able to schedule the same plumber. His boss told him not to charge me for the 2nd repair! Job 2: This is the 2nd time I have used this plumbing co. & on both occasions they came out & assessed or repaired the problem within an hour or so of my phone call. They are always prompt & very courteous. The plumber (Larry) diagnosed the problem & rescheduled to come the next morning b/c I had to work. Larry phoned me to let me know he was on the way. He then completed the work within a couple of hrs & left the entire area very clean & neat. The receipt provided clearly states what work was done. The repair has been successful.

The plumber (forgot his name) name arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He looked at the problem and began work. He was willing to answer all of my questions, and let me peek over his shoulder. He was polite, finished the job quickly and didn't leave a mess. I also asked him questions about some other plumbing issues which he answered without hesitation. The cost of this repair ($175) is steep if you know anything about plumbing. The parts were about $35 at Home Depot. But you also have to have the necessary tools and know-how. Personally, I always watch someone do a job before I attempt it myself, and I'd prefer that the person I'm watching be a consummate professional. So, in the long run, it was worth the cost.

After another company told me they couldn't fix a clogged toilet (they said the clog was at the sewer despite the fact that other toilets worked fine) I called Bidell. They gave me the price up front ($105 to auger the toilet, $120 if the toilet had to be removed). Larry was friendly and courteous, and he augured the toilet and had it unclogged in minutes.

Showed up promptly, replaced the valve quickly and for a great price, it was actually less than the estimate quoted to me over the phone! The plumber also did a good job explaining the work he had performed. The job was completed over a week ago and I have not had any problems since.

Jason was very punctual, friendly, and efficient. He quoted a price and actually came in under what he quoted because he didnt have to use all the piping he had predicted. He also finished sooner than predicted. We are very satisfied with their work. It is not easy to run a gas line in an older home and he did so with minimal drilling and did so without messing up any drywall or paneling.

I called Bedell from class in the morning and they were able to get a truck to my mother's home by around noon the same day. Mike looked over the situation as left by my brother-in-law, told me he wasn't sure he had an access panel that would cover the hole in the wall, and that a higher access panel should have been cut to give access to the shower pipes as well as the shut-off valves. He gave me an immediate estimate, and asked if I wanted the work done right then or to schedule. He estimated 2 hours, so I had him proceed. Even with having to make 2 trips out for different size parts, he finished in under 2 hours, including a creative dry-wall solution to the over-sized hole my brother-in-law had left. He was polite, friendly, and cleaned up after the work (which I ALWAYS appreciate!!). The final cost was $20 higher than quoted, because he forgot to factor in needing to use 2 access panel covers instead of one.

They sent 2 workers at the agreed upon time, one young & inexperienced & one who seemed less than focused. They both left in the middle of my job to go to another job. They also left to get parts. I asked that 2 lines be made larger & go straight to the drain. After they were done, they had to go back & correct the 2nd line & make it like the first. They still left one pipe small. I hope it does not clog. In all, I was charged for 4 hours of labor on a job that I feel could have been done by one experienced plumber in much less time.

We were given a standard estimate over the phone which was exactly what we were told. The plumbers were very professional, arrived on time and were careful not to get dirt or water on my carpet or flooring. Their price was well under the other 2 companies I contacted.
